3 Letting go of the past Stars

Okay so when I get an ARC book I normally try to review it with little to no spoilers at all. I will not be able to review this book without spoilers and tell you what I thought of it. Lost in Her was a hard book for me to rate. At times I wanted to give it a 4 stars and at times 2 stars. So I went in the middle with a 3, because some things I really liked about this book, but there was one thing that just got under my skin and ate away at my enjoyment of this book.
My favorite thing about this book was the characters. I loved the K2 guys, their women and I really liked Ryan and Charlie. I liked the team and their women so much that I really want to go back and read the other books. Charlie was a strong, independent woman that has had a hard life and only herself to count on. I loved that she was a daredevil pilot and hot tempered. Ryan was sexy, sweet, and an ex Navy Seal hello enough said! I loved the writing style and I loved the plot of someone messing with Charlie's plane. There was some sweet moments, some steamy passionate moments, and some all around feel good moments. But all those where shadowed by the one thing that ruined my joy. The Bunny.......
Just kidding I loved Mr bunny. The real reason this book went from a 4 star to a 3 for me, the one thing that sucked the love of this book from me was Ryan's dead wife and the way Ryan wouldn't let go. My God it was like a dysfunctional love triangle with a ghost. Now don't get me wrong. I am okay with books were the hero or heroine is widowed and loved their dead spouse. I am okay with them still grieving, hurting, loving, being angry, or bitter the dead spouse and even feeling guilty for moving on with their life up to a point. So I was okay with Ryan and the fact that he was missing his dead wife and was angry with her up to a point. When I hit the 50% mark of this book and he was still talking to his dead wife like she would talk back, and still comparing her with Charlie. Still angry at the things his dead wife did to him, still asking why, I started to get annoyed. When The book was at 83% and he still was working out his issues with his dead wife (Charlie has left him at this point not wanting to compete with a dead woman) I felt Ryan was being selfish. Hurting Charlie and it really bugged me. Then finally at the 93% mark he decides he is going to let go of the hurt from his dead wife and that he loved Charlie, of course she doesn't know that yet, and I was just like whatevs. Little late now.
It just tainted everything I loved. It ruined their relationship for me. There was a dead woman in bed with them when they made love. A dead woman there when charlie did something he liked and melted his heart a little because of course it reminded him of his dead wife and the way she hurt him. His dead wife was mentioned at least as many times as the heroine maybe more. It was just too much. So as much as I liked the writing style and I really did, and as much as I loved the characters this turned out to be just an okay read for me. But I do intend to go back and read the first 3 books.

I don't even know where to start with this review. To be honest, I ALMOST didn't even bother wasting my time. But I figured I actually wasted my time reading this, so I might as well type out my review.
Leaving bad reviews isn't fun for me. I know there was a lot of time and effort spent writing this book... But for the life of me... WHYYYYYYY!?!??!?! I don't think I liked anything about this book. I've read all the other K2 Team books in the series and it was like someone COMPLETELY different decided to write Ryan's story. I can't recall reading a book with such insecurities in both lead characters. Their conversations where cringe-worthy to read. It almost physically hurt me to finish this book. I think the only reason why I did was just to see if I was right in who was messing with Charlie's plane. (FYI, I was... it wasn't that hard to figure out...)
To say this book was a disappointment would be a HUGE understatement.

Another great addition.
I know sometimes it is like rinse and repeat, but the author keeps coming up with some curve balls. Ryan's dilemma was for sure interesting. It definitely had huge twist and for once I was shocked by the reveal. Charlie's dilemma was very predictable though. It was a good story. The two of them are hot together. One thin Ms. Owens does know how to do is write some HOT stuff.
On to the last one.
Again I am a failure. It got to a really good point in the car on the way to work and I had to read the end during lunch.

I was actually kinda surprised at reading the reviewers who gave it such low reviews. I absolutely loved it! I think this one will always be up there with a special place in my heart. Each book in the series I like even more than the last. Which is why I was surprised. But then, I like the strong but sweet men. Oh well. Everyone's taste is different. Anyway, I adore Ms. Owens K-2 series. And #4 Lost In Her is my favorite yet. I was gifted an advanced reader's copy from the author for an honest review, I loved everything about it.
I really liked Maria. I loved Sugar. I Loved Charlene 'Charlie' Morgan. What an awesome, kick butt heroine. I actually had a little bit of a girl crush on her. Never had a girl crush on a heroine before. Only the hero's. She made me want to be a pilot.
Which brings me to the hero, Ryan, Doc O'Connor. Sigh. Some had complaints about the bunny. I liked it. A nice break up from the normal dog or cat. I'm a dog and cat lover. So what if he's a guy. It's not like he went to buy a bunny. The bunny showed up on his doorstep. He's supposed to just toss him back outside. It showed Ryan was a tough guy with a tender heart. Not all tough guys need to be overly macho to be men. I loved how he called Charlie cherub, because her looks reminded him of a cherub. And when he called her Darling in Gaelic. Sigh.

What a disappointment. I had such high hopes when I got this bad boy, so believe me when I say I knew there was a BIG problem about 2 chapters in. It was agony to get through this one, which leads me to believe I MUST have read a different book that the other reviewers did.
I'm sorry but what grown alpha-male has a bunny rabbit... NOT only does he have a rabbit, he named him BUNNY.. not Butch, or Ratchet, or Mace, or any other manly names to help compensate for the pellet dropping fluffball lack of manliness.
Let me just lay out one of the many scenes in this book that had me looking a bit like this...
and then this:
So, Ryan and Charlene go on this date etc. between his bouts of testosterone ridden rages he talks about his dead wife that died, BUUUT she was pregnant with another mans baby. HATE RAGE BETRAYAL ... Buuuuut, when the dates over (like immediately - he hasn't even flossed dinner yet) he blubbers -like a teenage girl watching Titanic- and talks about how beautiful she was and caresses her picture lovingly (insert violin music and a single tear drop)
So, If It is unclear as to my thought on this read, I will just say, it was NOT for me

Vikki’s Musings
I have read Sandra Owen’s historical romances and loved them tremendously. When she started writing contemporary romance I decided to give it a whirl. I read the first one in this series when it came out, but I had a bit of trouble with that one, so I didn’t read the others in the series until Lost in Her. I’m so glad I did. I listened to the audio version and enjoyed it immensely from start to finish!
Ms. Owen’s book are always well-written and Lost in Her is as well. This book is faced-paced and grabbed me from the start and held me in its thrall until the end. I fell in love with both the hero and the heroine, and their back stories were expertly woven in, and it makes this book unique.
Charlene “Charlie” Morgan is an endearing character. She did not have an easy time in her teen years, having been shunned by her mother and step-sister for getting her step-father put behind bars. Then her one ex-boyfriend turned out to be a jerk. All that makes it very difficult for her to trust. She is extremely independent and feisty. That also makes her a loner. Ryan is just the right man for her.
I fell in love with Ryan O’Conner’s character straightaway. His backstory pulled at my heart-strings. If any man should be leery of getting into an emotional relationship, it would be Ryan. While he is definitely not looking for love, when he meets Charlene, he is blown away by her daredevil attitude. She is the perfect woman for him. While he is a strong warrior type, after all, he’s an ex-SEAL, he’s a marshmallow underneath and in a good way. Ms. Owen’s characterization of him is brilliant and makes this story so different.
Both characters were only looking for a one-night stand, but neither of them is really the type for that. It was apparent from their introspection. When Ryan sees Charlene, he is immediately smitten and she with him, so they both run scared, not surprising. When they come together again through happenchance, they both want to see where this will go. The chemistry between the pair is sizzling.
Now, the suspense aspect of the story was excellent, had me gripping the arms of my chair. It was so different because of where the team has to go, not a place one would expect, to say the least.
I listened to the audio and enjoyed the narration by Amy McFadden a great deal. She does an outstanding job with the various characters, giving each a distinct voice and reads with a lot of emotion without going too far. Mikael Naramore performed Ryan’s POV. While I did enjoy his narration, I think I would have enjoyed this one more if Amy had done the entire book. I’m not a huge fan of different narrators for the two main characters, but that’s just my personal tastes. I’m sure others have a differing opinion. I would definitely be willing to listen to performances by both narrators again.
If you are looking for a novel with some twists and turns, with great character development, then you will want to read Lost in Her. I highly recommend it. Now I will have to go back and read the ones between Crazy for Her and Lost in Her. Happy reading!

Lost in Her is the fourth book in the K2 series and even though I read it out of order, it can be read as a stand alone novel. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will read the previous three in the series so that I can find out how the other K2 team members fit into this book.
Ryan is still having a hard time dealing with his late wife, Kathleen, betrayal from a year ago. While he was deployed with his SEAL team, she is killed in an accident but the autopsy report showed that she was two months pregnant but he know that the baby wouldn't be his as he was deployed so he knows the baby wouldn't be his. He decides not to return to the teams and is now with his working at K2 as their Doc (which is also his call sign) or paramedic. His K2 team members have convinced him to go out to a local bar and start dating again.
Charlene "Charlie" Morgan is a stunt pilot who performs acrobatics in air shows but also gives flying lessons to students at a local air field. After a rather harrowing landing with one of her students, she decides to go out and try to cross off a fantasy (hot sex with a stranger) from her bucket list. She's also smarting from her break up with her ex-boyfriend, who happened to be married with a child. He conveniently forgot to mention this to her. Both Ryan and Charlie meet at the bar and to say the least, sparks really do fly between them.
Ryan immediately starts calling her a cherub due to her short and tiny statue. They escape the bar and share a moment that show that they are both really attracted to each other. But Ryan isn't quite ready to start anything because he needs to find out why his late wife cheated on him.
The author adds in a cute bunny who "adopts" Ryan and he becomes attached to Mr. Bunny very quickly. Charlie is also receiving mail from her step-father, who is in prison for rape (of her best friend) but now up for parole. He wants her to recant her testimony plus Charlie's step sister is out for blood because she won't do this. Throw in some harrowing airplane engine problems and you have one heck of a story. I loved how the upside down scene from "Top Gun" was added into the story towards the end. Priceless!
Ryan also has a scary moment while on a mission to rescue a Russian family from Finland who just happened to not inform the boss of K2 that she's due to deliver a baby in two weeks. Of course, this baby decides to be born in the middle of the rescue while the team is in a shoot out with the Russian police who manage to catch up with them before escaping into the night.
This is a great book and I highly recommend it.

Ryan immediately starts calling her a cherub due to her short and tiny statue. They escape the bar and share a moment that show that they are both really attracted to each other. But Ryan isn't quite ready to start anything because he needs to find out why his late wife cheated on him.
The author adds in a cute bunny who "adopts" Ryan and he becomes attached to Mr. Bunny very quickly. Charlie is also receiving mail from her step-father, who is in prison for rape (of her best friend) but now up for parole. He wants her to recant her testimony plus Charlie's step sister is out for blood because she won't do this. Throw in some harrowing airplane engine problems and you have one heck of a story. I loved how the upside down scene from "Top Gun" was added into the story towards the end. Priceless!
Ryan also has a scary moment while on a mission to rescue a Russian family from Finland who just happened to not inform the boss of K2 that she's due to deliver a baby in two weeks. Of course, this baby decides to be born in the middle of the rescue while the team is in a shoot out with the Russian police who manage to catch up with them before escaping into the night.
This is a great book and I highly recommend it.

From the outset of the story, Charlie showed she was a woman who knew her mind. She could do with a one-night stand, so made her way to a dance club packed with action...and men. One guy lit up the room for her. Ryan, an ex-SEAL, was looking for the same, so when Charlie ‘picked him up’, he liked the idea. A kiss on the dance floor had Ryan back peddling and Charlie confused. Wasn’t he looking for the same as her? A night with no attachments? Ryan couldn’t take the plunge – the kiss held more than just a night together—a certain spark that scared him--and memories that wouldn't leave him.
Men were the least of Charlie’s problems. Being a stunt pilot she had a show coming up and she had to be prepared, but ‘things’ were happening. While up in the air, her engine conked out. This is where, as a reader, you feel your heart stop as well. Charlie wasn’t a novice, she’d been trained well and with that and luck she made it back to the edge of the landing field. This is one of many tense moments the author took me through. Frightened, yes, but with the descriptive scenes she made me feel Charlie’s experience was mine.
While Charlie is trying to figure out who would try to sabotage her plane, Ryan is struggling with his love and resentment of his dead wife. His relationship with Kathleen had been one of long duration and he thought she loved him as much as he her. While he was on a long-term mission, she had died; the autopsy showed she was two months pregnant. He couldn’t seem to let go of her--wasn't he enough for her? And he couldn’t seem to get Charlie out of his mind either, even when he was the one who walked away. Then, he saw her on the evening news about a near crash of her plane and fortunate safe landing.
Ryan was drawn to Charlie. Perhaps it was because they both lived on the edge and enjoyed the gush of adrenalin with danger. Perhaps we are all given new beginnings if we are brave enough to take the chance.
I loved how the author left me, quite literally, hanging in the air on several occasions! Where Charlie seemed to know how to handle each emergency, I was having the meltdown! Moving from scene to scene, from hero to heroine, Ms. Owens coiled my guts tighter and tighter. Who was out to do her in? Would they succeed?
All-in-all, the story was delightfully engaging. Ryan was one of those guys you wish would look at you. Not only a looker, but a guy with guts, fearless, and quite the lover. Charlie is strong, but not so strong she doesn’t let her heart lead her senses when it comes to Ryan.

Ryan O’Connor was a K2 operator, an ex-SEAL, and a widower that found something very disturbing about his late wife after she died.
They met in a hook-up bar, both looking for a one-night stand at the moment. After sharing a passionate kiss, they could not forget each other. By chance, they met at Charlie’s flight school and their romance took off. However, danger lurked. Someone sabotaged Charlie’s planes, increasingly endangering her life. Both of them were also had tons of baggage. Their newly developed romance and relationship were put in a test. Could they overcome it to be together in the end?
This is the first K2 series I read though it’s the 4th book in the series. However, this is a really standalone novel so there really nothing to hinder me to understand the whole story. The emotional drama part of this book is just a bit too much for me. Both characters had issues, made the story a real emotional roller coaster. There was not really a single blissfully happy moment in the middle of the book. If you like this kind of romance, then it really up to your shelf. Me, myself, prefer milder emotional roller coaster to accompany the suspense part. The suspense itself was (very) slowly built. Minor sabotages that escalating to major ones. We can guess from the first few chapters who the culprits were, the clue were plain as day. So it more like "what would they do next, how to prove it was them” kind of suspense. Again, not really my forte.
I’m a huge fan of romance-suspense genre and had read tons of them. A book had to have something special, specific or different to make me give 5-stars rating. This is a good book, nice story that nicely written, enough suspense, hot romance, quite an emotional drama. I like it enough, though it’s not immersed me in the story. That special something is missing. However, in all honesty, it’s still a good book and I still want to continue to read the series (and also books before this), though I’m not anxiously waiting for the next one.
I would still recommend this book to romance-suspense genre lovers. It’s a good one really, just not felt special in my “taste-bud”.

Story about Ryan and Charlie. We met Ryan in book #3. He's a medic by training and is still grieving the loss of his wife and the betrayal of her pregnancy... and what's worse it's been a year and he just can't move on. But he's quirky. He adopts a bunny (although it's more like the bunny adopts him) and he makes jewelry (a hold over from his late wife's business).

Nice addition
Great addition to the series. Love how strong Charlene was. She stood up for her beliefs despite the criticism of those around her. Definitely a respectable quality. The fact that she didn't settle for Ryan's leftovers and made him face his past was beyond admirable. Nice character development and growth. Great storyline.

I don't understand the low ratings for this book. It was honestly my favorite of the series so far. I loved Ryan and Charlie ❤ Cant wait for the next one !

Okay, let's call 'em 4.5 stars because just when I think Sandra can't do better, she does! I so want to be Charlie not only because she gets the darling Ryan, but because she flies.
Ryan, known among the K2 Team as Doc, carries a secret buried deep but not so deep as to not continually burn away at his insides. When he meets a tiny cherub of a woman who manages to get under his skin with just a kiss, he knows it’s time to open the wounds, find out the truth, and live again. His only worry is that his sexy little stunt pilot cherub might not be around by the time he finally does.
Charlie carries her own festering guilt over tearing apart her family and being responsible for her best friend’s suicide. Her luck with men isn’t all too great either. Not having much experience with romance or sex, she prefers to disappear into the clouds rather than keep her feet on the ground…until she meets a sexy man one night, whose kiss fills her with a need to spend time with him even as she worries that it will end any moment. Of course, it doesn’t help that someone is out to get her and keeps sabotaging her plane so she never knows when her next flight to the heavens might be a permanent one.
Whereas LOST IN HER by Sandra Owens might not have had the level of suspense, and edge of the seat thrill as the first three books, it certainly was as good when it comes to Ryan as our bunny loving, sweet, caring, and oh, so protective romantic hero. He’s definitely a K2 Team member. He carries some anger, regret, and isn’t always as smart as he looks when it comes to Charlie but he makes up for it in so many delightful ways. He’s as inexperienced in love and sex as Charlie, which makes them very compatible and fun together. Charlie is who I’d love to be…not just, because she gets the sexy, romantic Ryan but because she’s a pilot—a stunt pilot yet. I love to fly so I quickly related to Charlie and her love of being in the clouds.
Don't get me wrong, there is some excitement, a bit of thrill and adventure, even danger in LOST IN HER…Ryan and Jake (SOMEONE LIKE HER) go on a mission that even though it’s serious one, it has its moments with some great camaraderie banter between the two and a new guy. Not saying anything more. You’ll have to read it to understand why poor Mr. Bunny sits waiting at the door for Ryan to come home. It’s a good thing he doesn’t know about the poodle. Nope…zipped.
Sandra gives us light, funny, serious, a little nerve wreaking, and certainly romantic in LOST IN HER. I highly recommend reading this even if you haven’t read the first three, although if you love great characters, funny teasing and banter, and really sexy former S.E.A.L. men, you should. They each work well as stand-alones, but why do that? Read them all, but if you must start with one that will have you saying, ‘Awww’, more times than you expect, read LOST IN HER, book four of the K2 Team series by Sandra Owens, and fall in love with Ryan like I did.

Having absolutely loved Book 3, Falling for Her, I was thrilled to receive an ARC for Book 4, Lost in Her. However, I don’t even know where to begin to adequately describe my disappointment in this one. It certainly wasn’t anything like the previous book. In fact, it felt like it was written by a completely different author. The writing style felt as stilted and awkward as the main couple’s interactions/dialog. The so called alpha hero was annoyingly too sweet/sappy most of the time and seemed to always be contradicting himself. It started out talking about his rage for his dead wife for dying while pregnant with someone else’s child, then he was crying/mooning over her pictures/lovingly caressing her image…referring to how stunningly beautiful she was. This right after being on a date with the heroine. That type of scenario never sits well with this avid romance reviewer.
The high school mentality both characters seem to display had me rolling my eyes just like a teenager myself: 1.) Cherub and Hot Guy were their nicknames for one another 2.) He talked about reaching for the stars/letting their imaginations soar. No self-respecting alpha “hot guy” would talk like that. 3.) He had a bunny rabbit. Yes, that is not a typo. Mr. Bunny lived with him in his apartment. 4.) She shows up at his place for a date wearing a shirt that says “Save a horse, ride a pilot!” Commencing involuntary eye-rolling. 5.) He gave her his high school ring on a chain so they could go steady. The dude was 28, folks. Yeah, it was supposed to be a joke, but it still didn’t come across as very mature. 6.) The high school type banter 7.) The numerous, poor attempts at joking about phone sex. Then @ 35% into it, they did it and all I could feel was embarrassment for both of them.
Can I stop now? I thought so. At 42%, I simply couldn’t torture myself any longer. Book 3 had us highly anticipating Ryan’s HEA. Here’s to hoping others enjoy it. For this reviewer, the deliver just didn’t work for me.

I have read every single book in this series and I have to say I am in love with all the K2 Special Services guys, an elite group of former Navy SEALS who go on top-secret missions. Every one of them is a tough, stand-up alpha hero, but when they fall, they fall hard.
Ryan O’Connor, (aka “Doc,” the K2 team medic), is no exception. Grieving the loss of his wife, whom he’d known since third grade, Ryan finds his grief is double because of a terrible secret she kept. Heartbroken and saddened, Ryan has difficulty moving on, but his loneliness and despair drive him to try to pick up a woman in a bar.
Charlene Morgan is not the one-night-stand type either, but she is truly on her own in the world and suffering from a tragedy in her own past. She’s a feisty, independent stunt plane pilot who only feels true happiness when up in the air. Unfortunately, she’s the target of someone who has it out for her by sabotaging her planes.
The chemistry between these two is terrific as each tries not to fall in love but can’t help themselves. Owens knows how to mine deep emotion. Her books feel real to me because she gets the complicated emotions involved in falling in love despite themselves and against the odds.
The camaraderie between the K2 guys is spectacular. At this point, I feel that I know them all as friends and buddies. Owens plays the alpha card well, but doesn’t fail to hit the raw emotions behind their toughness—and the bouts of humor she throws in throughout the book.
You don’t have to read the earlier books to enjoy this one, but I promise you, after you read this one you’ll be hunting for the others.

Ryan was called home from a deployment to find his wife had been murdered. Not only was she dead, but she had betrayed him in the worst way. After that, he was so caught up in his grief and the betrayal that he let life pass him before the next year. Once he finally decides he is ready to get back out and try to let off a little tension at a local bar, his attempt to find an easy hookup is waylaid by a short spunky blonde pilot. Charlie is also looking for a no strings attached night, but chickens out believing Ryan couldn't possibly be interested in her. So begins the chase. Ryan is intrigued by Charlie but can't understand why she keeps running away from him. He is determined to get past her defenses and sets out to win her over with a charming pursuit. The romance and banter between the two of them is quirky and sweet and amusing. Unfortunately, someone is out to sabotage Charlie and her planes...maybe even permanently. Between Ryan's busy schedule training for an upcoming mission out of the country and Charlie's training for an aerobatic show, the two struggle to connect at times. Charlie continues to be in danger, but will Ryan even be in the country when she needs him or will he lose another woman he loves while trying to do his job?
Though this story didn't have as much action as some of the others in this series, the romance was completely endearing, and the characters were so easy to like.

This is not a series that I started reading at the beginning but that has not bothered my enjoyment at all. Lost in Her (K2 Team) by Sandra Owens is an exciting, romantic read full of danger and suspense.
The plot is fast paced that provides plenty of character development along with the action. Charlene “Charlie” and Ryan are strong, smart adult characters. I like characters who have some life experiences and don’t behave like teenagers. That is exactly how I would describe Charlie and Ryan. Also, I like how their past comes to light as the story progresses letting us know what makes them tick. Then as their relationship develops the danger does too. They form an emotional connection along with the physical attraction.
A well written, emotionally charged story that kept my interest as I tried to guess who was doing the sabotaging. It has a wonderful blend of romance and suspense.

I like characters who have some life experiences and don’t behave like teenagers. That is exactly how I would describe Charlie and Ryan. Also, I like how their past comes to light as the story progresses letting us know what makes them tick. Then as their relationship develops the danger does too. They form an emotional connection along with the physical attraction.
A well written, emotionally charged story that kept my interest as I tried to guess who was doing the sabotaging. It has a wonderful blend of romance and suspense.

This is the 4th in the K2 series. In this story Doc/Ryan lost his wife while he was stationed in the Seals. He has being mourning her a year. What his family and friends do not know is she was pregnant when she died and it was not his. Charlene or Charli as she is called is stunt pilot whose plane as of lately is being constantly sabotaged. Ryan and Charli first encounter never developed into what they both expected. As he meets her again somewhat by accident via television they are both drawn to each other deeply but are so wounded by past issues that they have to dig through fog to find their ever after. Also they are racing against time to stop the individual/s who is tampering with her planes before she is severely hurt.Lovely scenes about a bunny that Ryan finds and comes attach to. It is always great to catch up with past characters from the previous books Saint Kincaid Jake Sugar and Maria.

I loved this book. Ryan and Charlene (Charlie) are both looking for a one night stand the night they meet but when the evening comes to an abrupt end, neither expects to see the other again, until fate intervenes. Ryan is a former SEAL medic and now works for K2, a private agency. Charlie is a fearless stunt pilot and the total opposite of his late wife, and after spending a little time together, he realizes how much he likes her. I love Charlie, who is a strong, independent woman and won't let incidents of sabotage to her plane scare her out of the skies. Charlie and Ryan both have trust issues but not with each other, which is one thing I really liked about this story. And can we talk about Mr. Bunny? Totally unexpected but so cute! This is mostly a great romance with some suspense mixed in and I really loved it.

Really enjoyed this romantic suspense novel. This is a new to me author and one I will be certainly looking for more books of. Charlie is a stunt pilot and Ryan is a former Seal when they meet both are licking wounds from former relationships. Ryan has only a year before buried his wife after she was shot in a robbery Charlie broke off with another pilot. There's is a chance meeting in a singles bar where flames if ignited The next day Charlie's plane almost goes down as she barely makes the runway. Turns out to be sabotage who is trying to kill her? Well Ryan is a medic in a private special ops group and goes to work looking into several attempts on her life sparks continue to fly between them Really enjoyed this fast moving story that is part of a series but easily read as a stand alone

Ryan 'Doc' O'Connor is the k2 team doctor and team members. A year ago his wife was killed in a burglary at her shop where she sold jewellery. When autopsy was done he found out she was two months pregnant even though he'd been deployed for six months.

Charlie is a stunt acrobatic pilot and very independent. Instantly meeting Ryan Charlie struggled with the attraction and even though I Ryan also struggled developing a relationship with a women not his wife.
I love that they started courting like high school kids Ryan giving Charlie his class ring and Ryan one track mind over phone sex.
Really enjoyed the story and how both finally got over there issues.

I enjoyed this one. I really like the K-2 guys and their women. In this one we have Ryan O'Connor who is ex SEAL and still being held back by the death of his wife and issues that were left unresolved with her. And we meet Charlene “Charlie” Morgan. She's tough, independent, and slightly tainted after a bad break up. Neither is looking for any kind of relationship but sometimes things don't work out like we expect!
For me this one started out a bit slow but once I got into the meat of the story it moved along at a better pace. Both the main characters had traits that left me a little put off. I found Charlie abrasive at times and Ryan just needed to let go of his wife. In the end however I did enjoy these two together and I would definitely recommend this one to everyone.

I must admit to being an impatient book reader. The story has to grab me in the first few pages or I'm not going to continue. Ms. Owens K-2 continually does that and Ryan and Charlie's story is no different. Her characters are always believable and the reader feels as though perhaps they've met them somewhere. Charlie is an outspoken, sometimes snarky stunt pilot who's been hurt by a previous boyfriend. Ryan is a retired Navy seal dealing with issues caused by his deceased wife's apparent infidelity. They want to be together, they don't quite trust each other but the journey is a great read. Only one more book in this amazing series which makes me sad. If you like hot men and self sufficient women, this is the book and the entire series for you.

5 stars. Oh my how I have loved this series. Ryan 'Doc' O'Connor was a man grieving for a wife who died in tragic circumstances while he was deployed in Afghanistan. Charlene Morgan has lived her life with the consequences of doing the right thing. A year after his wife's death and trying to come to terms with her deceit Ryan goes out with the intention of having a one night stand, he meets Charlie who has the same idea. It doesn't happen and neither thinks they will see each other again but Charlie is in danger and the two meet again. I loved this story and had palpitations imagining Ryan holding his cute Mr Bunny (not a euphemism but a real rabbit!). Please tell me there are going to be more books in this series I really want to know Dog's story.

What can I say about the K-2 books this book is awesome.
Ryan is in mourning after he finds out a horrible secret his wife had before she passed. Now a year into being a widow he decides it's time to move on. Charlie decides to go to the local hook up bar, its high time she does something for herself. She never expected to run into hot guy Ryan and have him be.
To not give the book away the story becomes very interesting with many twists and turns, You will see people from the past K 2 books as well as meet new friends. You will be entranced and the suspense will kill you.

This book was amazing. Since I live in Florida, I could connect with the places she mentions. Also, my husband is in the military and the book was right on target for its authenticity. The story is a heart breaker but by the end the author gives you closure for both main characters. I loved Ryan's family and how close they were. I have not read the other books in the series but they are now on my "to read" list. I totally recommend this story and I stayed up till four a.m. to finish this. Loved it!Loved it! Very romantic and I will definitely go back and read the others.

This book is about Ryan O´ Connor who is an ex EAL. He is still suffering the death of his wife and a couple of situations from his past. Then there is Charlene ¨Charlie¨ Morgan. She is an independent woman and jaded after a bad breakup.
Both characters are dealing with their own issues and the last thing they expect is fall in a relationship.
The story is nice and by the end of the book I enjoyed it.

I actually liked this book and the characters despite the differing views of others. I guess it's one of those love or hate books. Ryan was a lovely man who had been deeply hurt by his late wife and he was a lot more forgiving than I'd be in those circumstances. Charlene (Charlie) was nice enough, she was very small in stature but was spunky with it. It wasn't hard to guess who was messing with her and her plane so it didn't exactly tax the brain too much but overall it was a nice story with wonderful characters and I'm looking forward to more in this series.
