A nice & in depth read of the classic tv series. This book explains how the TV series was created as well as how it hired the actors & why, created the vehicles and discussed the lasting legacy of the show.
This is a fun book. All of the campy Batman TV trivia in one massive coffee-table-sized volume. Bam! Pow! Sock! Every "Holy blank, Batman!" Robin ever uttered with the blanks filled in.
Amazing Bat-Coffee Table book about the campy but great 1960's Batman show. Great pictures and articles on the show's genesis, writing, casting and cultural impact. Great companion to the Blu-Ray box-set. Super enjoyable!
A coffee table book for all fans of the sixties incarnation of the Dynamic Duo. Lots of great photographs, and details from behind the cowl. If you have the TV show on DVD or Blu-ray, this is a must have book
As a life-long fan of most all-things Batman, I was excited to get this book. I was NOT disappointed! Chock-full of publicity photos, behind-the-scenes stories, and a not-to-spoilery episode guide, this coffee table book should be on every bat-fan's shelf!
I was attracted to this book due to many favourable reviews on Amazon, and I was not disappointed when I received it. The book is bright snd colourful as well as informative and I took my time, reading a few pages every morning before facing the rest of the day. As I grew up with the Batman series and raced along the street as an eight or nine year old wearing swimming trunks, and an old curtain for a cape, it was a nostalgic trip down memory lane for me and I’m even tempted to buy the Blu Rays and watch them again. While I like the new (dark) Batman films, Adam West's Batman will always be my favourite, despite it camp humour and over the top colourful costumes and gadgets. Highly recommended for people who grew up with watching Batman I. The sixties. Holy colourful nostalgia!
Large coffee table book filled with hundreds of beautiful huge color photos and copies of important historical documents regarding the Batman series. The narrative writing that surrounds the photos is often meager and at times doesn't even match what is being shown. Often you'll want to read more but the chapters move along so quickly that this never stops to expound on significant topics and there are a few times what's written is oddly distorted or inaccurate.
You won't read this book to find out more about the series--most of it is taken from other sources and well known--but you will love the pictures that celebrate a classic series that truly did change television and doesn't get enough credit for inspiring dozens of future shows.
I was six years old when "Batman" first came on, in January of 1966. I absolutely loved it then, as a colorful adventure series -- and I still love it as the best campy fun ever. So, I really enjoyed this book about the making of the series, with thoughts and anecdotes, not only from the stars, but from writers, directors, stuntmen and other crew. And it has some wonderful photos -- scenes from the show and also behind the scenes pictures. If you loved the show, this is a must-have.
Fans of the show will love this book.It is filled with photos of behind the scene, publicity and promotional shots of the various characters, props and persons involved in the TV series.Short chapters give the story of the realization and production as well as persons involved. It is an oversized volume and well made.
The 60s Batman TV show is one of my favorite and this book taught me so many things that I did not know. It provides great insight into the production of the series while also highlighting all of the people who made it what it was. I especially liked reading about how the props and vehicles were made as well as the experience of the various stunt performers.
Great book, but visually, I wish they'd gone with a larger font for captions & eliminated the black lettering on dark blue background - both hard to read.
Holy smokes Batman !!!this is the ultimate companion to the classic 60s tv series about Batman includes tons and tons of many rare photos s definite must for fans of this cult classic

Great book for 60s Batman fans! Goes into depth about the concept, how everything came to be, and all kinds of fun facts and tidbits. Beautifully detailed and full of great photos. A must-have for anyone interested in the pop culture phenomenon that's 60s Batman!
a definite must have to add to your collection for any of those 1960s batman televison series fans out there. with loads of fun facts this book is a must have.
Every geeks my age and older had fond memories of the classic Batman TV series. It was loaded with camp and silliness but that was all rescued by the obvious fun all the actors were having, especially the villains. My favorite was of course Vincent Price as EggHead. Filled with terrible puns and ridiculous action. It was in spite of it's self memorable and wonderful.
Excellent book with wonderful pictures from back in the Batman 66 era, no fan would be disappointed in the quality of research and picture reproductions.
