The book opens with a look at Henry's past. It's ugly and it even made my old hateful self have a few feels. He ended up being raised by his grandmother after losing his sister Helen and both parents. Henry goes through hell, I'm not spoiling anything by telling you that part.
Then you meet present day Henry, he has moved on from the horrible tragedy and is now happily married, has two children and is a very successful writer.
He writes a series based on a serial killer named Eli. His series is even in the talks of a movie deal.
This was reminiscent for me of Stephen King's Misery and I remember wanting to read the books that King's character was writing and I felt the same way about the books that Henry was putting out..I WANTS!
Henry is on a deadline though, he has his publisher chomping at the bit wanting that next Eli book yesterday. Henry has hit a small writer's block though.
His wife and he agree that he needs to get away and he decides on the small town of Blue Hill.
On his way to the town he meets up with the sheriff's daughter who could pass for a twin of his dead sister Helen.
Now I was very entranced with the story..thought I would be able to figure things out on the way it was going.
Then:
I was so very, very wrong.
If you read this book...and I hope you will..DO NOT RAGE Quit!! Don't do it. Just keep reading.
Because......
There is a passage between two of the character's that stuck out in this book for me.
"Wow, movie man. You write scary stuff? Like Stephen King?" she questions, this time resting her elbows on the bar in front of me, giving me prime view of her saggy tits.
"Something like that but more like James Patterson."
This kicks James Patterson's ass so hard that he won't find it in the middle of next week.
It's that good.

4 Stars!!
As a reader I love when a book surprised me and this little dark gem sure did. While “Blue Hill Blood” wasn’t the best psychological thriller/mystery I have ever read, I have to say it was quite good, definitely a page turner that kept my attention from start to finish. It was dark, raw, twisted, intense and of course like the title suggest, it was bloody. So it goes without saying this book will f@ck with your mind.
The story fallows Henry McElroy, New York Times Best Selling Author. Henry has a successful career, a lovely, caring wife and two beautiful daughters. He has writer’s block and since he has a six weeks deadline on his six book in a series (entitled “The Kill Town” about Eli, a serial killer), he decides to do what he does every time to clear his mind – escape. This time the destination is Blue Hill, a small coastal town. He leaves his family and he comes to Blue Hill, but this small town is not exactly the perfect destination for a couple of reasons and one of them is that being away from his loved ones makes Henry think about what happened 25 years ago.
Things get complicated when he begins to share book excerpts with his fans on social media and soon after bodies begin to stack up in similar fashion to that of which he writes about.
I don’t want to give anything away, so no spoilers. Try to read this one without reading too many spoiler-ish reviews because you need to go into the story blind. This one for sure was a mindfuck. Needless to say half of the book I didn’t know what’s really going on. Who is crazy? Who’s the killer and so on. The story is written both in the past and in the present, which I really enjoyed, from Henry’s perspective and Leesa’s perspective, Henry's wife. The prologue was intriguing, yet ugly and disturbing. It simply gutted me. Henry’s character was well developed, complex, intense and while I sympathize with him, his actions made me cringe at times. As for the supportive others characters, well…they were interesting to say the least. One of the aspects of the story I really liked was how well the plot was structured. It was solid, captivating and also unique. The story wasn’t as graphic as I expected, which I don’t know if is a good or a bad thing, but the storyline kept my interest until the end.
The epilogue was one of the reasons I enjoyed this read. It was simply fantastic, smart and honestly I didn’t expected it!
Overall, a great twisted read!

It's been days. And, I'm still a bit hung up on this one, still processing. Henry's past was so heartbreaking, gah. I have no words. Reading about those events, that day when his 14 year old life was turned up side down, I was horrified and I was hooked.
Jumping to the present we meet the man, Henry has become. In his late thirties, he is happily married, the father of two girls, and a bestselling author. Looking for inspiration for his current work in progress he heads to Blue Hill, Maine. Lines begin to blur, a ghost from his past has Henry all out of sorts, and lets not forget the bodies that begin to pile up.
This is a hard one to review, without spoiling, so I will keep it short. This one had a somewhat slow build up, but the writing was great, and the twists along the way keep me invested in the story.

5 Crazy Ass Stars for "Blue Hill Blood"! This book was one dark, twisted and unpredictable ride!
Henry has a dark past but this past along with his wife Leesa has helped him to become a phenomenal author. He writes books about a serial killer named Eli.
This book goes back and forth in time but it is easy to follow and easy to read. Boy does it twist and turn! I loved the story, I loved the author's writing and I loved the crazy characters that Elizabeth Gray created.
It's hard to write a lot about this book without spoiling it for the reader. If you want a more in depth review check out Shelby *I want some flying monkeys* review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... . If it wasn't for her I might never have heard about this book or this author. That would have been a shame because this book was so freaking good! Hopefully with word of mouth more people will read it.
Warning - lots of sex and some violence but the gore factor was low.

Ha! I kill me. In all seriousness, 3 Stars is a good rating for me and I definitely wouldn’t want to discourage anyone from reading this book.
So, about the book - Blue Hill Blood is the story of Henry, a man who experienced some serious fuckupedry as a child. In an effort to keep things spoiler free, I’ll just leave it with we’re talking . . . .
Despite the odds being forever not in young Henry’s favor, he managed to become a successful author as an adult, writing a series with a loveable little MC . . . .
Unfortunately, Henry often suffers from writer’s block and finds the only cure is escaping to a tiny little hamlet which will provide inspiration for the characters in his books. That is how he comes to Blue Hill. While there, Henry meets someone who seems very familiar . . .
and life begins to imitate art . . .
Sounds good, right? It was. This was a case of me being the problem. Here’s the deal: #1 - I knew what was happening. Now, there was a little sumthin’ sumthin’ near the end that I didn’t see coming, but for the most part I was right on track with where things were going. THE FOLLOWING IS AN ACTUAL SPOILER SO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK: , #2 – I never could make myself be “Team Henry.” Buuuuuuut, I didn’t actively dislike him either, and that is never a good thing for me, and #3 that cover - it looks like a really baaaaaad porno that I would have zero interest in reading (I know that's a shallow comment, but I am what I am and that's all that I am).
This was still quite the page-turner, though, and although I’m not positive of the exact page count, it was short so there was little to no lag time. If you like stuff that is dark and grimy, Blue Hill Blood should most definitely be added to your TBR. And to Elizabeth Gray, why don’t you get to writing Candace’s story? Thanks in advance.
Okay, now for a glimpse into the workings of Kelly and Mitchell’s bizarro brains. I think I’ve been spending too much time with Ron 2.0 because I keep getting songs stuck in my head whilst reading. Neverending loop for Blue Hill Blood?????

Hey ! . . . Fellow Goodreaders,
. . . who goes by the name, Blue Hill Blood. This little gem right here cured my book blues . If only I could find a solution to my review rut.
Firstly, I'd like to apologize in advance for this piss poor review. Its been a while; I'm a little rusty. Now, I could be a royal douchebag and spoil the entire book for everyone, but this homey don't play that. Instead, I'm going to list what I appreciate most about Elizabeth Gray's psychological thriller.
The Good :
* The cover- I like the whole frostbite look the cover model has going on. Admit it fellow whores, its eye catching.
*The writing-No immature or repetitive chatter here. Honestly, I'm dense when it comes to purple prose text ** No comprende** This story is told in the past, present and multi- POV's form, which can get a little confusing. I am happy to say this Squirrel had no difficulty keeping up with plot.
*The pacing- No tedious plot devices or monotonous scenes, which cause the story to drag ass. Can I get an Amen?
*A story within a story.- Just trust me, it works. Btw, Am I the only one that thinks Eli needs his own full length novel?
* Unconventional cast of characters -Author , Serial Killer & 'Fixer', 'Oh my!
* The author- I'm insanely grateful to her for curing my lengthy & aggravating book funk. **Muchas Gracias! **
Oy Vey, enough with the fangirling before my nose turns brown. Being the picky reader that I am, obviously there were few elements that displeasd me.
The Bad :
* Blue Hill Blood is a standalone novel. *More Please.*
* I don't see any information regarding a spin off series for Eli. *Oh! the travesty*
and finally,

* This hideous review.
Friends, I know this review has been an utter waste of your precious time, but if you're looking to read something different and have $4 to spare, don't hesitate to buy this book. You won't be sorry.

So where do I even begin... I am utterly stunned and left with a clusterfucks of OMG what the hell did I read!!! And by that I mean it in a total holy shit this book is fucking amazing!!! Yes, Blue Hill Blood by Elizabeth Gray is a must read!!! Hands down I loved everything about this psychological thriller that kept me glued to my kindle. Yes, I practically inhaled this twisted, gritty, raw,bloody and wicked book in one sitting.
So what is Blue Hill Blood about? Well, this book is definitely one that can't be fully reviewed in detailed since there are so many twists and unexpected surprises along the way. But what I can tell you is this. If you love raw, dark, and wickedly twisted stories then this book is definitely for you. Blue Hill Blood is about the nitty-gritty side of what it is like to go behind the eyes of a monster. And what I mean by that, it's about stepping out of your comfort zone and come live and experience two worlds colliding: the literary world of imagination and the real world. As readers we read books from our favorite authors and enter in their world of creativity. We read and breathe in their literary world of fiction and characters. We imagine these characters and feel every raw ounce of their emotions. We are consumed by them. So what happens when a NYT bestselling author's work in progress becomes the focus of national media attention when the killings are similar to his work? What happens when a super fan crosses the line? And what happens when a wife's love is all that is needed to fix things?
Blue Hill Blood is like watching a train wreck about to happen. We just can't take our eyes off the scene that is about to take place. In all honesty, the storyline reads and unfolds like a movie. Every action, scene, dialogue, and interactions is like a vivid recounting of what is really taking place in the book. The writing was phenomenal, the characters were written perfectly, and the storyline was addicting. Ms. Gray brought life to these characters in her own wicked twisted way. She bewitched you right off the opening pages and had me questioning my sanity as I read the book. Though this book is not the hearts and flowery type, I LOVED IT!! More like insanely addicted. I wanted to know more of these raw and uncouth characters and what other secrets and skeletons are left to be exposed. This book definitely nailed it when it reminded readers that love makes you do crazy things, insane things, things you never thought you'd see yourself do.
So what is there left to say but Blue Hill Blood by Elizabeth Gray is a MUST READ!!!! Yes, I am calling out all you dark, twisted, and psychological thriller fanatics that you definitely need to one click this book!!! For all you movie aficionados out there, Blue Hill Blood can be closely described as The Staircase, To Die For, Basic Instinct, Primal Fear and of course Gone Girl. So if you are ready for one crazy ride, then sit back and hold on tight because Ms. Gray definitely will have you begging for more. All I know is that ELIZABETH GRAY you have found your niche in this genre and I will definitely be stalking for more of your books!!!

So if you are ready for one crazy ride, then sit back and hold on tight because Ms. Gray definitely will have you begging for more. When a friend had posted a five star review on a psychological thriller, I knew I had to get my grubby little hands on it.
This contained some things that may be deal breakers for some readers. I think if you go in knowing it's on the darker side you will be prepared for what's to come.
The first half of the book was a little slow, but after finishing I can see why it was best to set up the scene that way. About halfway through I was cringing and pissed off simultaneously by what took place (which in my opinion, is a good thing). This then led to my eyebrows being furrowed for the duration of the book. I was wondering what the hell was going on, and then when finding out the facts, I still couldn't believe what I was reading.
This was a very well written crazy story. Once you get going you won't want to put it down. The epilogue was one of my favorite type of endings and let's your imagination run wild with thoughts of what could take place.
Overall I was on the edge of my seat, confused, shocked, and pretty creeped out. So if you know me at all, it was right up my alley. A damn good mindfuck book.

The prologue guts you. It's the start of Henry's world crumbling around him. The day he loses everything that is important to him. The day Henry is filled with pain and a darkness that refuses to stay hidden.

I personally thought this book had a very slow start that didn't really grab me until around 40-50%. The book jumped from Henry's past when he was younger to the present. We also were getting sneak peaks of what was in Henry's novel. After the halfway point I couldn't read fast enough!
I was so confused while reading this book. My mind was twisted up. I didn't know who to believe or even what to believe. Was Henry crazy? Was the obsessed fan in Maine crazy? Was Henry's wife crazy? What body or bodies were going to show up next? Are they the same exact people in Henry's novel? Hell I didn't know!
I did get a little creeped out with how obsessed Henry was with his sister Helen. I didn't really understand that relationship.
This book had many moments of me with my eyes wide open and my mouth was probably open as well.

4 Crazy stars
One word to describe Blue Hill Blood is CRAZY. This is not a romance book, this is not an easy book to read and this is one of the darkest books I have ever read.
I consider myself a dark book junkie. I don’t get phase by cheating, rape or torture, that’s all typical for these types of books, but I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I picked up this one. With that said. If you are ready to start this journey with me, you will not be disappointed.
Read this at night, right before you go to bed, you will have some interesting dreams. I know I did.
Henry is not your typical Hero. He’s almost 40, is happily married and has two kids. He looks like he has the perfect life. He’s a best seller author and is on deadline to finish his current suspenseful novel. When I started this book, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into or where the story would take place. The beginning starts with a bang and it explains how Henry became what he is today.
When he was younger he witnessed something tragic, but it seems like he has overcome all obstacles. But nothing is what it seems. I was really curious about Henry and his home life. I found his wife lovely and I was smiling at the loving relationship. When Henry gets writer’s block he goes to a small town a few hours away to get inspiration. That’s when things start to go from normal to not so normal.
The thing that REALLY got to me with this book is that it’s a book within a book, kind of House of Leaves. As Henry writes his book, you will get to read it. Usually I find these parts boring, because it’s not related to the story, BUT it is and it’s addictive. Eli is the main character in Henry’s book and if you wanted to read something sick and twisted, then these excerpts will get you there.
I was sucked in by both story, Henry and Eli. Like I said, not everything is what it seems and Henry is anything, but the normal best seller writer. There’s something dark in him, something he draws from Eli.
Blue Hill Blood is a gut wrenching book. You will cringe and have moments where you think you need to put it down or feel kind of dirty reading. I really crave these feelings. It’s not often an author can make me uncomfortable. You will want to hold someone’s hand while you read or have a buddy to read with you because TRUST me, you will want to talk about this book the moment you finish.
It will leave you mind blown.
Fun FACT! The author, Elizabeth Gray is another pen name for K Webster who wrote This is War, Baby which is one of my top reads of the year. That completely shocked me. That’s talent.

Well, shoot. This one really starts off with a bang, grabbing me right by the ying-yang. That prologue was fantastic, no two ways about it. Then I must have started reading it wrong, the dialogue and I didn't get along very well at all. High sexual content. Don't make a decision based on my review. It really has some crazy good parts, but I am only willing to part with three stars for the whole of it.

Blue Hill Road is a dark, demented, and twisted psychological thriller, that will have you questioning your own sanity. At least it did me, because this was not an easy book to read. It was gruesome at times, and crossed the line from "reality to fiction" causing my mind to question what was real and what wasn't. Just as I thought I knew what was going on, the book would take a left turn and we would be on a new, bumpy road.
The writing was evocative, captivating and sucked me in. It was no-holds-bar. Don't go into Blue Hill Road expecting hearts, flowers and unicorns, because you will be sorely disappointed. But for me, that is what I LOVED about it. It was different, it was unique. It was brutal at times, but unbelievably, beneath the harshness lays a love story, all-be-it a sick one.
This is not a romance, it is a thriller with a whole lot of steam and dare I say, heart? My heart broke for our main character. That prologue gutted me. And as I continued to read I felt so much emotion for him. I hated him, cared about him, loved him, I felt the gamut of emotions. A true sign of spectacular writing.
I can't tell you what the book is about without spoiling it, going in blind is absolutely the best way to experience this book. The blurb is enough.
There were quite a few characters in this book, but the one I loved the most (besides the main character) was grandma! She was amazing. What a brilliant character. There were a few others that I wanted to slap - LEESA, WTF?!?
Blue Hill Blood certainly isn't a book to skip if you like thrillers. From the solid plot to the character development this book is a standout! 5 amazing stars!

Typically I wouldn't pick up this sort of book, but let me tell you I am immensely glad that I did.
There's no messing about here, you're thrown right into an intense scene that will pull at your heart strings. It makes an impact.
I was like a shark chomping on a fleshy seal with this book. I could not devour it quick enough. It chilled me, thrilled me and had me chewing all my nails off. It takes you for a messed up ride and I loved every second of it.

This one is going on my Twisted Approved List, so beware, this book is dark and may not be for everyone. A psychological thriller with dark erotic themes.
O.M.G. This was a delicious, decadent chocolate cake of total mind twistery. My craving for depravity has been sated. Go in blind, I haven't read any other reviews, but I'm afraid someone will ruin this story for you.
The prologue will smack you and rest of the book will feel like a blurry mess of all consuming darkness. Henry's a writer of horror books, so not only am I reading his story, I'm reading the story he is writing. To say I was darkly entertained is an understatement. I'm not going into detail because, yeah. No spoilers from me. Anyway, like I was saying, the prologue is tragic, what Henry endures is heart-breaking. We get past and present from Henry's POV, a slow build up to a massive explosion. You will be screeching and laughing like a lunatic, that's if your twisted like me. I NEVER SAW THIS COMING!!! A sucker punch of plot twist. My mouth was hanging wide open. I closed this book with a smile on my face while scratching my chin. I spent the rest of my night re-thinking the entire story, did I miss clues? Speechless. I love a complex, mind boggling book and Elizabeth Gray delivered. I need her on speed dial for my fix. If you like dark and twisty, a book that will tickle your mind, you have to read this one.

BOOM! My mind has been blown! I can’t even right now! I have no words. Like what did I just read??
I’m going to be honest with you, I had no real idea what I was going into when I picked up this book. All I knew was that one of my favorite authors was writing a new series under a new pen name. Who is this author, you might ask? It’s author K. Webster. Now, if you know me, then you know that I am a big, huge fan of her books. But, let me tell you, this book; it’s unlike anything you’ve read from her before!
Blue Hill Blood is unique. It is dark. It is twisted. It will blow your freaking mind. This is not a hearts and flowers type of book and is definitely not for the faint at heart. I found myself on the edge of my seat from the very first page. That’s right. The. Very. First. Page. From that moment I was hooked. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. All I knew was that I had to read more. And the more I read, the more desperate I was for information.
Blue Hill Blood is well written and captivating. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. You will easily get lost in the world and characters that Elizabeth Gray has created. This story will mess with your mind as you try to put all the pieces together. The twists and turns will keep you guessing right until the very end. And let me tell you, the twits; they just kept coming. By the end of the story, I was high-fiving myself for figuring out what was going on. I didn’t know all of it, but I was right for the most part.
Blue Hill Blood is one of those books that it’s best to not read spoilers for. And trust me, there are so many things I want to gush about and discuss right now. But, I’m not going to do that. You need to go into this story blind. Enjoy the thrill of solving the mystery. The only little tidbit that you’re going to get from me is this: If you liked the movies Gone Girl or The Usual Suspects, you are going to love this book.

I’m going to be honest with you, I had no real idea what I was going into when I picked up this book. All I knew was that one of my favorite authors was writing a new series under a new pen name. Who is this author, you might ask? It’s author K. Webster. Now, if you know me, then you know that I am a big, huge fan of her books. But, let me tell you, this book; it’s unlike anything you’ve read from her before!
Blue Hill Blood is unique. It is dark. It is twisted. It will blow your freaking mind. This is not a hearts and flowers type of book and is definitely not for the faint at heart. I found myself on the edge of my seat from the very first page. That’s right. The. Very. First. Page. From that moment I was hooked. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. All I knew was that I had to read more. And the more I read, the more desperate I was for information.
Blue Hill Blood is well written and captivating. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. You will easily get lost in the world and characters that Elizabeth Gray has created. This story will mess with your mind as you try to put all the pieces together. The twists and turns will keep you guessing right until the very end. And let me tell you, the twits; they just kept coming. By the end of the story, I was high-fiving myself for figuring out what was going on. I didn’t know all of it, but I was right for the most part.
Blue Hill Blood is one of those books that it’s best to not read spoilers for. And trust me, there are so many things I want to gush about and discuss right now. But, I’m not going to do that. You need to go into this story blind. Enjoy the thrill of solving the mystery. The only little tidbit that you’re going to get from me is this: If you liked the movies Gone Girl or The Usual Suspects, you are going to love this book.

4.5 stars, I couldn't put it down. Blue Hill Blood did what so few books are able to do--it surprised me. Vaguely reminiscent of Stephen King's Misery, Henry is a successful author who just struck a movie deal on his series about a serial killer named Eli. Under a deadline and suffering writer's block, he sets off for the quaint town of Blue Hill for character inspiration and to get his mojo back.
The story is set in Henry's past and present, interspersed with excerpts of his novel in progress. He started writing as a form of therapy after the horrific tragedy Henry survived as a teenager, and we even get bits and pieces of his journal entries from that time. It sounds like it would be all over the place; it sounds like it would be a hot mess. It's not. It works, and it works well. Until the big reveal, I didn't know for sure the identity of the killer. The twists, the turns, even the secondary characters--I loved them all.

Henry "Hank" McElroy found a way to channel his childhood trauma. Now a bestselling author, Hank is in the process of writing his newest book and this takes him to a small coastal town. While interacting with the locals, Hank’s creativity flows, but when his past and present converge, his characters seem to influence reality.
From the beginning, the storyline is gripping, and with the timeline shifting between past and present, the character development is layered. Adding to the interest is how excerpts of Hank’s work in process are included and the investment into his characters; it was like having two books in one. Equally, I wanted to know what would happen to Hank and also to his main character, Eli.
There’s no doubt that Hank has unresolved issues and an undercurrent of taboo is present throughout this narrative. When his mind enters Eli’s fictional realm, it is dark, disturbing and twisty. The way the plot was constructed is effective in the build-up of tension and depth. Though there is much darkness in Hank’s life, there is some light and the relationship he shared with his grandmother was heartwarming. Overall, this story kept me intrigued and I couldn’t wait to see how it ended.

the prologue gutted me. It was heartbreaking, messed up, raw, painful, and evil.
Henry is a man messed up man. After having his childhood and family torn from him... by the person who was supposed to protect him Henry becomes a very troubled. He finds escape in writing... he feels by putting the words on paper helps him with the grief and all the issues he still has. this story started a bit slow at the beginning... but it soon picked up and it was like watching a movie and you kinda knew what was going to happened... yet when you read the ending its now what you thought it would be. Total mind fuck this book.
Henry is New York Times best selling author. His married with two kids and everything seem peachy right? but nope... Henry is continuing his series about a killer name Eli. Elie is one crazy motherfucker for sure. I really loved how the this books has stories within stories... this book has some gruesome and fucked up situations... the detailed of the killings wow... seriously messed up.

5 Total and Complete Mind Fuck Stars!!!!
I am absolutely certain that K Webster can get me to read any genre she chooses to write and make me love it! This is her debut novel writing as Elizabeth Gray and it is was completely phenomenal!!!! Just so y’all know, this comes from someone who closes her eyes during every scary scene in a movie and hates horror films!!! The problem with doing that while reading is quite obvious… but don’t think I didn’t try this during at least a couple of the scenes in this book lol….
This book takes you on the journey of a serial killer and his creator, I suggest you buckle up as it is one hell of a bumpy ride! It will have you guessing and re-guessing from the prologue right to the very last page! Every damn time I thought I had it figured out something else would happen that would blow my mind. These characters were totally off the hook crazy!
This was a cross between Criminal Minds and Family Ties and I just kept wishing that Derek Morgan and Spencer Reid would swoop in and solve the case!!!
Job well done Ms. Gray! I can’t wait to read more of the crazy fuckery you come up with!!!

This book was so good. The epilogue opens up with such a promising ride. It had me feeling so much so fast I was hooked instantly. The story was crazy af, and when you think you had it all figured out it gets more crazy af. Overall, readers of dark twisted stories will find this book appealing.

It's been FOUR DAYS since I read this. I'm totally ready for this review, my mind has totally processed this, right? WRONG. But still, I need to review this and tell you all how freakishly, amazing of a mind-fuck this is. I am still processing my feelings while writing this review so please try and stay with me lol!
First of all I would highly advise having vodka/wine and Ben and Jerry's on stand by for when you finish this. Ok so usually I do a little of a 'Synopsis'; a little about the book, in my own words,so you can get a little insight to what you're going into, but there's not a chance in hell I am doing that with this book, because honestly there is no way for me to that without spoiling this book for you and while I have heart palpitations from the thought of going into a book blind, spoiler free, this is how you need to go into this one. What I will say though is, Henry is the epitome of a tortured writer, we get an insight into to his life that led him to now. This story and these characters are definitely not one dimensional, this story grips you entirely and will, without a doubt stick with you for a long time after you have read it.
Next of all, I DON'T read psychological thrillers, I read romance because, well because I'm a wimp! I don't even watch criminal minds anymore lol! but there's not a chance I would ever pass up reading a book by this author. So what did I do? I read it early in the day, because that totally makes a difference! yeah right, I had no idea what I was going into! I was sucked in completely, terrified also, and while this genre isn't something I'm going to be picking up, this will forever be a favourite because this book has twisted me up and planted itself right in my brain, I'm not sure it will ever leave either, this story is just simply phenomenal.

I've said it before and I will say it again and again, this book well and thoroughly fucked my mind. If you're like me, a big wimp, and start to think "Oh, I've totally got this. I'm ok with this" DON'T FOOL YOURSELF. Elizabeth Gray aka K Webster aka SATAN will be sitting there cackling as she throws each twist and turn at you, and each character and plot line unraveling before your eyes, which are probably covered by your hands while your mouth is agape. This book makes you feel things then shocks you and makes you question yourself, see, this is what this author does, she makes you feel a certain way about a character then rips that right from you and makes you feel another way completely! As much as an evil author she may be, she is definitely one of my favourite authors and I will trust her writing always.
Lastly, Do not for one second think you have this figured out. Just don't do that to yourself because you won't have it figured out, and you will be hanging on to every word until that last word. And I dare you to read this and not come from this book completely mind fucked.

"She's a beautiful song that I can't help but get stuck in my head."
This is the debut novel for Elizabeth Gray. However, I have read numerous books under this author's original pen name, K. Webster, and although this story has a different taste than what she would typically write in the contemporary romance genre, the words of Elizabeth Gray blew me away.
"I hitchhiked with Scarface."
I am a reader who loves a good hook. The prologue jolted and jostled me, and also gave me no choice but to read as fast as I could. At the writing of this review, I have so much to say about Blue Hill Blood that is bottled up inside of me, that if I take the lid off too far, it would likely explode details of green, blue and red everywhere. So, I will give you just the basics of this story that created one unbelievable hangover.
"Her playful tone soothes the parts of my suffering soul that ache daily."
Henry is a very unique and different kind of character. There is the Henry on the outside, the one who puts on the face that everyone wants to see, and there is Hank on the inside that has never gotten over his past. This becomes more evident as the story progresses. Leesa, his wife, is a woman of pure devotion, through thick and thin. More characters are introduced, settings are established, and what lies ahead of us is a pure work of art, possibly jagged and distorted art, but art nonetheless.
"It will always be you. Always has, always will, Henry."
Blue Hill Blood twisted me up in all kinds of ways. It was gritty and raw, dark and thrilling. The concept of telling stories within stories created so much more depth; I felt like I was meticulously peeling back layer after layer. Learning of Henry's past and present and the way in which all the characters intertwined to make and maintain his persona made me feel great depths of sorrow, pain, alarm, and surprise. Then, at last, delving into the future, Author Elizabeth Gray presented the unimaginable. Blue Hill Blood was not a book that would typically peek my interest. No normal romance was found here. But, without a doubt, I will be reading more from this author.

FIVE for originality. ONE for ickiness.
The style felt like a Stephen King novel because of the creepy small town setting and that it's a male writer POV. Second was because it felt so twisted you wanted to read on to see what would happen.
Despite how much the story pulled me in, I couldn't say I enjoy reading it.
1. The guy had double standard. BIG TIME. -
2. Cheating
3. Weird wife - the extent that she went to protect his husband was unreal
4. Don't see any attractive quality in the guy.
I admired the wife's courage, and basically clueless as to why she loved him so much.
Also, I didn't understand Clive, the superfan. Or, Alex.
It seems like I'm the only one missing the enigmatic quality of Hank.
Overall, I felt grossed out.
