What happens when a federal narcotics agent falls in love with the kingpin she’s supposed to bring down?

Rayven Delano was raised by her single father, a federal narcotics agent, after her mother was murdered at the hands of drug lords. For as long as she can remember, her dream has been to become an agent herself to bring down the bad guys and get justice for families like hers.

Samson King was born, raised and rose to power as a kingpin in the streets of Baltimore. His drug organization is one of the largest on the East Coast, but for years he’s managed to elude the authorities. He and his organization, King Enterprises, seem to be untouchable.

When their two worlds collide, the unlikely pair fall hard for each other. But will love bring them together in spite of the odds, or will their relationship be tangled in a web of divided loyalties, secrets and lies?

Loves it!

Good read
This storyline keep me interested. The characters came alive and the action didn't stop. Not to mention the sex scenes kept me wanting more. I can't wait to find out what will happen in part 2. I sure hope it gets even more juicer. I love to read about love stories that has so many odds against it but yet it still withstands all the danger that has been placed to break it apart. It just shows how far we will go for the ones we love.

Review for The Officer and The Thug
Rating 4.5
I was gifted this book by Aja Jackson as a part of the Advanced Reader copy (ARC) program in exchange for an honest review & I will attempt to do so without revealing too much of the story.
An Officer and a Thug by Nisha Nelson revolved around Rayven Delano, an undercover agent, & Samson, a drug kingpin /entrepreneur. Despite the circumstances that threw them into a whirlwind love affair, Rayven actually loved Sampson & he adored her. Rayven, who was an rookie agent, found herself falling for Samson which ended up deterring her ability to follow protocol sufficiently. On the other hand, her father who was also an agent instructed her to do whatever it took to get what was needed.
I think Nisha Nelson shows lots of promise with this debut novel. The characters were easy to relate to, adequate background information was supplied & the storyline had a good flow. This story was written nicely. I also liked the fact there was a "flashback" chapter that allowed me to become more familiar with Rayven & Samson's prior relationship.
Although to me the title implies that this story is Urban Lit, this story did have several romantic/ erotica scenes combined with the Urban.
I thought this story would have made a splendid standalone but I also think it will do well as a series as the story ended with questions that will be answered in part 2.
Overall, I thought The Officer and The Thug was a good read & I wish Nisha Nelson much success in her future writings.

I was searching for a read to pass time by and this one pops up on my kindle. You could say the book cover and title captures my attention. The story line was everything I could have imagined. Nisha you did a wonderful job with this work of brilliance. Your characters are amazing from beginning to end. Rayven and Samson ryde or die mentality has me saying who is willing to sacrifice who first. Thanks for giving me a masterpiece and I will be getting the sequel
