He’s always watching . . . Aviana Shawe has had a stalker since high school. When her father kicks her out after her college graduation, she needs to find a secure living situation fast. Her former stepbrothers Hollis and Wyatt offer their place to crash. They’re handsome. They’re billionaires. And their place is a mansion. Hollis is a player, and Wyatt has darker desires. Both have their eye on Aviana, who isn’t going to say no. But someone else still has his eye on her as well . . .
After reading one too many stepsibling taboo novels by Stephanie Brother and her ilk, I was expecting yet another plot-what-plot smutfest with personality-less characters ... so I was very pleasantly surprised by "In Their Arms". In no order, I liked: Hollis and Wyatt (I loved Hollis and his sense of humour!) and the way their backgrounds shaped them as adults. How Hollis came to recognize his own shortcomings (thanks to Aviana) and began to develop. How protective they were of Aviana, especially Wyatt ... the backstory of what happened when she was 13 and he 15 was heartbreaking. How likeable Aviana was - intelligent and pragmatic, no drama queen doormat. How the brothers were mature enough to reach an agreement about her. And how for once the drama was a completely outside source (and a very chilling one - the author did a terrific job of conveying the horror of being a stalker's victim) and not caused by a histrionic parent and a non-existent blood tie. Every parent in this book was godawful ... competing for the title of Runner-Up Villain behind Milan.
I'm leary sometimes at "Stepbrother" romances, they can be cheesy, sometimes creepy, and at times a bit contrived. This one hinting at being a menage made me especially hesitant, but I found it to be surprisingly well written. I would try another by this author.
Probably the best short story/novella I have read to date. The author was able to develop characters and a great storyline. It felt like a full-length book just more fast-paced. I will say the steam suffered slightly from the sped-up pace. But not enough to deter me from giving this 5 stars.
I’m overwhelmed with the whole story. There’s a little bit of tension and drama everywhere but the character’s emotions and feelings are always right there for everyone to know and love. I loved it and I would read it again
Good combination of brotherly love from 2 distinct personalities being Wyatt and Hollis. Avi didn't know their feelings when they were family but learns quickly they will protect her at all cost, including from a strange stalker. The dad needs to get his sh*t together and Aviana only fairs better once she is out of the house and working toward taking care of herself. With Hollis and Wyatt in her life, it can only get better.
Although I did enjoy this short story It felt rushed. I wish it was more detailed. Everything feels like it happens in maybe a week. I also did not like how Avvie sleeps with Hollis and then seemingly sleeps with Wyatt the next day. I’m sure a few days have passed but it doesn’t seem like that. The brothers do a good job with sharing Avvie. I wish I could give this more stars.
If you like the pulled this is a good one. Wyatt and Hillis are twins who grew up with Avvie as step siblings whose parents married divorced and remarried again then divorced again. Avvie moves in with the twins after her dad kicks her out to accommodate his new girlfriend. Great story also involving a bit of BDSM.
I enjoy step romances, reverse harems even more. Aviana is fresh out of college and ends up moving in with her step-brothers after her dad kicks her out. The relationship between the three is very loving, though I feel it could’ve been fleshed out more and given more emotion. I liked this book, but it could’ve used a bit more emotion in it.
I loved this book except for the ending. It just felt unfinished. Still a good read if your imagination can let you decide how you would see the ending happening
Liked this book. The stalker aspect was a new twist on the Step brother trope. I loved that this one wasn't a men/bad relationship and the issues came from outside sources.
3.5⭐ It was a good book, and made me want my own twin billionaires 🤤
The twin MMCs, Wyatt and Hollis, are gorgeous, protective and loving to Aviana, the FMC. The twins didn't know about Avvie's stalker until he almost caught her at the mall. She called and the twins came running and kept her safe, and cared for throughout the book. Though in my opinion, she could have been cared for even more by both twins. This would let us get to know all the MMCs better, making the book feel more complete.
Avvie is unceremoniously asked to leave by her father because of another woman. He is totally oblivious to everything she is dealing with and only cares about his own needs. She has nowhere to turn, but asks her former stepbrother if she could live with them until she can get a job and a place to live. Her former stepbrothers are twins and Wyatt tells Hollis to pick her up instead of her using a bus or taxi. They are rich and very different from each other. As Wyatt is away, she is living alone with Hollis and they have a few deep conversations. As he opens up more, she acknowledges that she has some feelings for him and they start a relationship. When Wyatt comes home, he is surprised and angry about it as he always loved Avvie, but always fought his feelings as they were steps. Hollis seemingly lets her go and she starts to be with Wyatt. She never told them about her stalker, Milan, but he finds her again and then the twins work on keeping her safe. Wyatt is a workaholic and the protecter, while Hollis is fun, but has issues due to his mother. They both agree they want Avvie and share her separately. When Milan breaks in and almost kills one of them I was fearful. A great read and ending.
