I enjoyed this short cozy mystery. Hannah pretty naive, but courageous to go looking for murderer. Maybe this book will help other young women to wake up. If life seems perfect, probably something wrong.

First time reading this author. This was a short story and the main character was Hannah and deals with her reaction to the death of a friend and then her boyfriend. What she learns and how she deals with it all . It was sad but she did turn it all around.

As a mystery this was so-so. A very quick read. The female main character is happy-go-lucky, hasn't settled her course in life yet, and pretty naive when she goes looking for information from drug users. Police will never bother to check anything out, she claims -- and of course they don't bother looking for info or clues. So she has to find the killer -- and gets herself into a pile of trouble.
The book has two parts; the first is Cornered by Cupcakes but it also includes a free second story by the same author, SCOOPED. Both very simple stories. I got his as a freebie long ago; I see Amazon doesn't carry the book or anything by this author now.

Cute short story that's a quick compelling read. When Hannah's friend Alfie dies from a heart attack, she finds out it was caused by over use of steroids, devastated she leans on her friend, Jay. The next she she knows someone kills Jay. Now Hannah turns amateur detective and her cozy life of making cupcakes is turned upside down. The author packs a lot of story into a small space and this book is a fun page turner.

Exciting read

Short cozy mystery about a nutritional baker and the death of one of her clients and soon after boyfriend. Following each tragedy it's easy to feel sympathy for her and encouraging when she takes matters into her own hands to find the killer and solve the puzzles. It was well written and developed and though I usually prefer full length stories, I find myself enjoying short cozy mysteries the more I read them.

I was not particularly happy that is was a short story without a satisfying ending. It was well written for the most part. I fell in love with the adventurous spirit if the main character, and her need to dream and love and find truth. Then it ended. No dreams, no love, no truth. What comes next? But then again, this wasn't a series. Please, please S.Y. Robins does she live her dream, find love again, and get the truth?

Overall the book was ok. The writing is fine, charters are a little to good to be true as we learn later in the book.

Just not enough of the story to satisfy the mind.

The plot was a good one but it was over before it got started. This book is just way to short. I'm glad it was Free no way would I pay $2.99 for it.

It wasn't cozy, nor a mystery nor anything really to do with cupcakes which weren't in any kind of corner. It could have been a really good story about abuse of steroids and the seamier side of body building and it could have had the point of emphasising that detective work should be left to the police but unfortunately it didn't.

You think you know somebody, only to find out they have this whole different side to them. Hannah thinks her life is perfect until she finds out her friend has passed away, after that it's just one shock after another.

The story had a well developed start, but the ending was rather abrupt. (Maybe I didn't have the full version of the story? It was in 3 collection books on my kindle, but all versions only had 3 chapters. All the other stories in the collections seem to be complete...)
