This (very) short young adult book would have fit right into a 1950s issue of BoysLife magazine.

The best part of this novelette is it's history lesson regarding the last month's of the Pacific War in 1945.

An RM. Military Aviation Action Adventure (TLOW19) (CAOO - TWSB - 3)

RM. has penned a military aviation action adventure titled, "The Legend of White 19" , (Book 3 of the Watson Saga), which begins with our intrepid hero returning to NAS San Diego for assignment into a newly formed Corsair squadron. The LT. approaches his new Captain and explain s how dangerous the current instructor is and the us ordered ti train those pilots. He is then assigned as Commander of VF-91. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

The undercover ed air war in the Pacific theater from an experienced pilots view

WWII is often covered well in the European and Russian fronts. The Pacific is less well reported, except for Guadalcanal. The air war after the introduction of the Hellcat, Corsair, and the bombers is less well covered. The Marianas turkey shoot is noted but the effect is rarely mentioned. A Japanese admiral noted the decline in Japan's air effectiveness and developed the Kamakazi tactic. This is a story from a pilot that faced that problem.

The book presents an interesting and exciting tale of the end of l WorldWar II.

The events portrayed clearly and adequately detailed the reasons for the clear and exciting end of the Japanese struggle to avoid the clear and necessary efforts to end the Japanese tale starting with Pearl Harbor and ending with decisive battle to totally eliminate the combat capability of the Japanese war machine.

Excellent ‘Boys Own’ stuff with good technical info on the planes. Unsure why the three books in the series couldn’t have been integrated into one longer one?
Mild criticism is that the book constantly refers to ‘England’ (Not just while he is there) but thereafter rather than Britain or United Kingdom.
Good read though!

Excellent

Why 4 and not 5? There is always room for improvement. Great story and a tribute to the “Greatest Generation”. Many won’t admit it but WWII would have been lost without the USA. This story spotlights one small part of the many many heroes that took part in Europe and the Pacific. Thank you.

This is a good read although like the previous two in the series it was more a short story than a novel.
Also, the writing format is somewhat highschoolish. There were many connective words that were missing ..... "a", "the", and similar that left sentences loose. He apparently, pushed to hard to edit it tight. It was still an interesting story as was the 3-book series.

Clean up the wordsmiths house

Good writing. Storyline is kept real and in perspective by the characters actions and thoughts. It’s feel good but not sappy.
Make sure proofers find the missing words. I found 2 places where words are missing.
Keep writing! Just stay on your publisher’s tail.

The Ending

The Watson Saga ends with Dave returning to battle in the final days of WW2 but first he must bring his fighter squadron up to his and the Navy's high standards. I enjoyed this series but I have one complaint/question. Why three short books? This Saga should have been just one regular length book.

Read all three books non stop . Thought the stories were too short or was I just devouring them too fast

Thought the 5 star rating was justified as was so absorbed any technical errors that may have been committed was not noticed. May after short break read all the series again.

Entertaining series!

Great story, I thoroughly enjoyed all three books. I just wish they were longer. I enjoyed reading about the different aircraft and their characteristics. The personal element was entertaining.

The legend of White19

The 3rd and final SHORT story was as good as I hoped has me wanting more but satisfied with the end. I would have been happier had the stories been longer with more stories but was always wondering what happened when I had to put them down to

A gripping tale

My only regret is the story was over as I was totally engaged in the saga of White 19. Extremely well told and thoroughly captivating tale of Corsair training and. combat with realistic leadership challenges.

Awesome book!

Read in one sitting. I couldn't stop. Engrossing action and dangerous over-the-top heroic action. Following the career through his multiple stops was very interesting.

An Incredible Journey

At the beginning of this book, the author stated that other than some of the names associated with the battles, this story was a work of fiction.
As fictitious, it very closely approximated the actual events that occurred in the battle for Okinawa.
There is no doubt in my mind why these men who fought and died in World War II are called The Greatest Generation.

The conclusion of the Watson Saga. Being sent to shape up a sorry squadron on the Essex is a difficult but not insurmountable task. Carrier CAP operations soon run out of Japanese airplanes so on to ground strafing at which the Corsair excels. Some derring-do and several medals later, his brief career ends. Not bad for a reservist. Three quick but enjoyable YA books with a solid understanding of the equipment, training, and personnel essential to winning the air war in the Pacific

Same as the other, good short read

The three "stories" should be presented as one. All three were fast moving, exciting and enjoyable. Just need about three more chapters. No regrets at the reading, would read more of this writer's work.
