Box Set: Rescue Me Saga, Books 1-3

Rate this book
More than 1,300 pages in three full-length novels, each with a happy ending!

Need an escape from it all? To immerse yourself in a series that sucks you in and doesn’t let go? This set includes USA Today bestselling author Kallypso Masters’ first three Rescue Me Saga full-length novels, plus the introduction Masters at Arms. Great end-of-summer reading!

The Rescue Me Saga focuses on healing deep, soul-shattering wounds in people who didn’t expect to find love in the bargain. Adam Montague slowly brings together his family of choice as the saga evolves (and, yes, are deeply involved in each other’s stories, so they don’t fade away after their happy endings, so be sure to read in order).

NEW BONUS MATERIALS EXCLUSIVE TO THIS SET! First, a blast from the past as Ms. Masters shares a few interviews from the blogosphere where she and her characters answered some insightful (sometimes prophetic) questions four years ago when this adventure began. In addition, she has compiled a collection of 13 recipes mentioned in scenes in these books.

This box set includes the previously combined MASTERS AT ARMS & NOBODY’S ANGEL, plus NOBODY’S HERO and NOBODY’S PERFECT—all three with happy endings!

Book 1 (Combined), MASTERS AT ARMS & NOBODY’S ANGEL:

MASTERS AT ARMS begins the journey of three men, each on a quest for honor, acceptance, and to ease his unspoken pain. Their paths cross at one of the darkest points in their lives. As they try to come to terms with the aftermath--forging an unbreakable bond--will they ever truly become masters of their own fates? Or would fate become master of them?

Book One continues with NOBODY'S ANGEL. Marc d’Alessio keeps all women at a distance. When he rescues Angelina Giardano from a disastrous first experience at his BDSM club, however, an uncharacteristic attraction leaves him torn between his safe, but lonely world, and a possible future with his angel. While trying to protect Angelina from her abusive ex, though, Marc once again finds her at the Masters at Arms Club where she turns his safe, controlled world upside down.

Book 2, NOBODY’S HERO: Retired Marine Master Sergeant Adam Montague has battled through four combat zones, but now finds himself retreating from Karla Paxton, who has declared war on his heart. With a significant age difference, he feels he should be her guardian and protector, not her lover. But Karla's knack for turning up in his bed at inopportune times is killing his resolve to do the right thing. Karla isn't the young girl he rescued nine years earlier—something his body reminds him of every chance it gets.

Book 3, NOBODY’S PERFECT: Savannah/Savi escaped eleven years of abuse at the hands of her father and finally made a safe life for herself and her daughter. But when her father once again threatens her peace of mind—and her daughter’s safety—Savi runs to Damian Orlando for protection. Eight years earlier as Savannah (in MASTERS AT ARMS), she shared one perfect day with Damian that changed both their young lives and resulted in a secret she no longer can hide. But being with Damian reawakens repressed memories and feelings she wants to keep buried. After witnessing a scene with Damian on Savi's first night at his private club, however, she begins to wonder if he could help her regain control of her life and reclaim her sexuality and identity.

Damian, a wounded warrior, has had his own dragons to fight in life, but has never forgotten Savannah. He will lay down his life to protect her and her daughter, but doesn’t believe he can offer more than that.

I am so glad I reread this book. It is actually a lot more than I remembered! There is not 1 but 5 stories.
#1 Adam #2 Damian #3 Marc #4 They Bond #5 The Club

🛑🔞There are very graphic and dark scenes in book #2. Be aware.
There is also a very detailed graphic military war zone scene in book #4. Be prepared.

All the stories are well written. The main characters are well developed.
There are adult intimate scenes in book #2 & #3.
All the stories are for adults with adult language, etc.

I will be continuing to reread this series!

Review From August 21st 2013 ↘
Novella that got me hooked on the series.
A lot of great characters are introduced to us here.
A very great scene with Gunny meeting a young girl at a bus depot.
Extremely well written.
Loved it.
And highly recommend the series to lovers of BDSM romance.

📖 Nobody's Angel
6/18/19 Reread thoughts.
4.5 Stars

I didn't love it as much the 2nd go around.

Angelina's thoughts in Nobody's Angel sometimes felt repetitive as did some of the areas about other characters.

That said, I still loved it.

The erotica and intimate scenes are still scorching, melt your kindle, Lord Have Mercy Fan Me, HOT!
After all the Dark Erotica I have read, it was nice to come back to SSC BDSM. The way it is meant to be. The rules of Trust and what a real D/s relationship should be.

🎶 Last time I read this series I only made it to bk#3 then got sidetracked with other things.
This time around I am 'Going All The Way'!

I don't remember finding any editing errors.
The stories are extremely well written.
The flow is mostly fast paced.

📖 Nobody's Hero
3.75 Stars

Would have been better without all the repetitive thoughts of the mc's.
Needed to move at a faster pace.
Needed more suspense.

The adult scenes were intimate and steaming hot.
Very erotic.
Although even they tended to have a small problem.

There was to much 'lecturing' in a few of the scenes about BDSM during the intimate scenes.
This caused me to start skimming.

The first time I read this I was very new to Erotica books and appreciated the information.
This time around I got bored and wanted to get to the meat of the story.

So, if you haven't read this series and you love intense intimate scenes, I highly recommend.
But, it doesn't do well in a Reread.

I think my first rating was closer to 5 stars.
It lost a star with my 2nd read.

📖 Nobody's Perfect
3.75 Stars

1st time I read this I loved it and it was a 5 star read for me.
Unfortunately, like the other books in this series, .5 up to this one, they fell short on the reread.
Why?
Excessive repetition. Mostly in the mc's thoughts.

The next book in the series I have never read. Hopefully that will bring the rating and reading enjoyment up for me. Considering I have the next 3 or so books in the series already, I really need book #4 to be a great read.

Masters at Arms: Kallypso has created characters that will become family members to you. One section of the book deals with some hard topics related to child/sexual abuse. Some people are triggered by reading these kinds of situations but I find them helpful and cathartic.
This is an erotic romance but it's also a dramatic "real-life" book giving the backgrounds of the main characters in the Rescue Me series.
Be warned that future books in the series are not really stand-alone stories. The series should be read in order to obtain the full continuity of the stories.

Nobody's Angel: Angel, Marc and Luke are all loveable, believable characters. Nobody's Angel continues the storylines found in Masters at Arms.

Nobody's Hero: I have always been attracted to older men, so I can fully understand where Karla is coming from. Master Adam is my dream Dom. I love the recurring characters and the saga that Kallypso Masters is building book by book. Kally's characters are "real", not perfect ...hence the title of the next book in the series :) This series needs to be read in order because each book builds on the last one. I recommend the "Rescue Me" series to anyone looking for gritty BDSM and/or military romances.

Una serie muy prometedora con personajes fuertes, humanos y reales. Las tres historias me han encantado, son entretenidas y dinámicas. Cada una en su estilo, enganchan desde la primera página y hacen que te enamores de sus personajes. Muy recomendable

Masters at Arms
In this short preview, we meet Adam Montague, a 42 year old marine suffering from the loss of his wife, the only woman he loved, and his sub. At an all time low in his life, with not much “sense of purpose” left, he is on his way to report for his next deployment when he comes across 16 year old Karla in a bus stop, determined to run away to New York City to be “discovered” for what she believes is a talent that is at its peak, as a goth singer/song-writer. When trouble in the form of a pimp and his goons comes her way, the young woman, having lived a sheltered life so far, finds herself scared to death with nobody to help her out of a situation that could prove to be her demise. Being a marine in Adam’s eyes means to protect, not only his country on foreign soil, but those who need him, here at home. Will he be able to rescue Karla? Or will this “Master” find himself giving up on life completely?
Warning: Once you start, you’re not going to want to put this down! And be prepared to want more from this extremely talented author.
Nobody’s Angel
Wow! I’m not sure how she does it, but Ms. Masters takes the deepest and darkest subject and turns it into a story that not only will you not want to miss, but will have your heart and emotions ricocheting off the walls, from page one until the last word. Her books are real, and makes you feel like you are one of the characters, that you feel their pain, sorrow, happiness and of course, their love. As the saga continues, we catch bits and pieces of all of the crew, but in this particular book, be are blessed with the struggles, and the “coming together” of Marco and Angelina, two stubborn Italians that have many past hurts that they will have to hurdle, alone and together, in order to find their happy ever after.
I’m not sure it’s possible to not fall in love with these characters, as we follow not only their struggles, but also witness their accomplishments. A beautiful story most definitely worth the read.

Nobody’s Hero
Oh my! When Ms. Masters creates, she certainly takes it seriously, and this is the perfect example. Her style is impeccable and riveting, creating characters that are not only real, but easy to relate to, each with a story that needs to be told and heard. In this episode of the Rescue Me Saga, we continue with the “leader” of the team of so called social misfits, after he finally retires from the Marines. Adam has been more or less floating through life since the death of his wife, almost nine years ago, that is until another female from that era shows up on his stage. But she’s not the same little girl she was back then, and certain body parts are now at war, trying to piece together just how much she’s “all grown up”. But she needs his help, in more ways than one. The only question is…will he be able to give her what she needs? Or will she be destined to love but not be loved in return? Will Adam ever be free from the ghosts of his past?
If you haven’t started with the first episode of this book, I would suggest you do that prior to reading this one, even though it is a standalone. The background you get is definitely worth the read and will only enrich your reading experience, as we are guided through the lives of this special group of men and women, through their hardships and their glories. This series, as well as this author, are most definitely on my top three list! Absolutely brilliant!

Nobody’s Perfect
If ever there was a book that could knock you down, only to bring you back up and restore your faith in love, this series is it. To me, this series is even better than FSOG, which I also greatly enjoyed, as it is so much “real”, as scary as that is. Extremely dark at times, yet completely uplifting at others, Ms. Masters has given us the dark side of life in a way that is easy to, not only relate to, but to succumb. The hardships that her characters experience, and the ways they have mastered their demons, mostly through the tight bond of “family” and the BDSM community, will leave you on an emotional roller coaster from start to finish. Be prepared though, because once you start this series, there is no way you will want to put it down until the last word has been read. This episode is the story of Damian and Savannah, an unlikely pair that battle similar, yet very different demons, and their journey to not only love, but the healing of their souls and bodies. The trials and tribulations that this pair have to endure will bring you to your knees, praying for their lives dreams to be fulfilled.
I am anxious to continue with the saga, hoping to read more of the characters we have gotten to know so far, and to discover new ones along the way. Exceptional read you don’t want to miss out on. Well done!

This was a saga!

Where to begin... unless a book is horrible after 2-3 chapters I am compelled to finish it. So I read it and it was well written. I cannot take stars away because I hated the bdsm aspect -- I knew that going in. Some of the stories and scenes were so predictable and some frustrating. A Dom refuses to go to bed with his pregnant wife but uses a leather belt on her?! I hated that S&M was used as a "cure" for a victim, that a young girl with no experience was so smitten with a man who was way too old for her and he loves her so much he introduces her to bdsm?! This lifestyle was glorified way too much. Anyone who needs to feel pain or inflict pain to enjoy sex needs professional help, not this! However overall I did let myself enjoy the love stories, esp the 3rd book between Savannah and Damian. No plans to continue to the next book.

Wild ride through the world of BDSM.

Rescue Me Saga, book 1‐3. This series was an eye opener for me. I didn't know much about BDSM. This series helped me understand so much about the community and perhaps why people want to get involved with the community. The characters are real and dedicated to living life how they see life. Loving who they want and helping each other past through their demons and nightmares. Adam, Damian, Marc, and Luke learn to face their enemies and demons to become whole again. They make it through the war but find the war latching on to them in civilian life. They find women that have issues too, but need help overcoming their demons. I enjoyed this book.

Mastered

I generally enjoy but don't love BDSM romance, but I'd say Ms. Masters excelled here. The mix of family, community, and knowledge of the lifestyle truly resonated. Karla and Adam were my favorite, even from the beginning, though. I even sort of liked the little supernatural elements thrown in.
The desperate need for continuity editing, plus my irritation that she changed style in third book to let the issues between A&M get left for the next book instead of among the story of Damo and Savi, is the only reason this isn't a 5* rating. It felt like the others ignored Marc's problems for Damo, which is extremely out of character.

Way hotter than 50... that other book series...

Hot, fiercely protective guys that run a BDSM club and the women who (eventually) love them! Well written and quickly paced, it's fun to read - and yes, quite steamy in parts, as expected.

However, the mixture of abuse, PTSD, and BDSM is not an easy one to write. I feel many of the facets of these three issues were wrapped up quickly (sometimes inaccurately) to move the plot and hot scenes along.

If you're reading it as immersion romance/erotica, it's enjoyable. If you're also reading for the emotional realism of the characters based on their background, it can fall a bit flat and unrealistic at times. Overall, still a good read.

Better than awesome!!

Kallypso Masters’ Rescue Me Saga is better than most series I have read in this genre. Her stories center around a group of close knit Marines who have been to hell and back personally and professionally. I thoroughly enjoyed this beginning to the series because while she does deal with some extremely sensitive subjects she neither glosses over then nor glorifies them. There is something here for everyone. The bond between the group is close, but not “icky”. Her writing is perfect, few grammatical/editing errors, and I’ve fallen in love with her characters.

I LOVED this box set which contained the first three books in the Rescue Me Saga – I thought that they were amazing - they were full of action, hope and romance and everything I look for in a book

I thought that all of the books were expertly detailed and brilliantly written, the author did a fabulous job with them and really brought the characters and plot to life for me and I felt as though I was experiencing everything with them.

It is definitely 5 stars from me – and I now need books the rest of the books to complete the set!

I enjoyed it but wished Marc and. Angel story were all cleared up in the end. The concepts were good the suspense was there in the stories that had it. Everyone suffered from their own trauma and this group needed each other as lifelines in in so many ways. It is definitely worth reading. It will end with a cliffhanger and be prepared because its long if you want to read it till the end. Definitely 18++. Deals with heavy sex scenes and violence against women. Trigger.

A wonderful series.

This is a new to me Author and she has a new fan. It is a wonderful series with heart. I loved that all the characters were broken in some way and they each found someone that complemented them and they focused on the other one's problem and in helping them they helped themselves. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a dark romance with a lot of heat and heart.

Loved Them All Over Again!

Even better the second time around! This world, and these characters, bring forth so much truth people don’t know or understand for both our worlds wounded warriors and our brave veterans (and other trauma survivors) suffering with PTSD, and for those in the many different areas of the BDSM community. Give them a read. You’ll get seriously entertained and you’ll learn something about others and maybe about yourself.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

Saw this on Bookbub and decided to give it a try. Well written, with characters that you care about. The "prequel" is a must. Stories can be read without it, but explains so much about what ties the characters together. Definitely, a keeper. Now onto the next in the series.

Fun characters with tons of issues and interesting ways of coping with those issues. The stories touch on some issues that most people don't know anything about and gives us a glimpse into the struggles of soldiers with ptsd, also other people with ptsd for different reasons

Not as good as I was expecting. the second book Adams and Kayla I liked more then the other two. the third book Savi and Damien was ok but beware it had some very emotional themes because of the child abuse. I just had a hard time trying to enjoy it. I will finish the series because I need to know what happens next.

Hot damn!!!

One of the most descriptive bdsm books I’ve read... it really does show what the characters are experiencing and the don’t just rush into full scenes... I like the way they build up and that the doms have problems and issues as well as that they aren’t infallible
