Blue Moon by Lisa Kessler
Moon series #6. Paranormal shifter romance. Second chance troupe. Best read as part of the series in order because of the overall series arc.
Logan walked away from Vivi years ago even though he knows she’s his mate. Now that she’s back home, he’s not letting her get away this time. Learning about shifters will change her world.
Action packed. A bit more violence from rogue jaguars. She forgives him pretty easily but their attraction is still strong. He waffles a bit too much for her being his mate. She is strong in the face of danger. Includes songs or poems the hero writes for her which is a fun twist.
Enjoying the series and will read on.

'Blue Moon' by Lisa Kessler is book six in the "Moon" series. This is the story of Vivianna Lopez and Logan Reynolds.
'Anna' had been in love with Logan since they were young. Logan took to looking after her when she was younger and they were best friends. Then the night of their prom Logan just broke things off with her and never explained why. Now five years later Logan is a popular singer in a band and 'Anna' wants to do a interview with him that will help her advance in her career. But Logan at first doesn't want to do the interview because he knows if he is near her that his 'wolf' will come out and want to claim her. 'Anna' tries a few times to get the interview but doesn't have much luck. There is another story she could do that would help her career too...but that might put her in danger.
I had a hard time getting into this story and couldn't make my mind up about 3 stars or 3.5 stars. I just went with the 3.5 stars in case my personal thoughts were over taking my review. I just couldn't agree with Logan that he made his choice back then because they were so young and that he didn't think he could trust 'Anna' with his family wolf issues. But overall I enjoyed it and loved the writing.

This author is just so cruel to her characters - but I’ve loved reading every story in this series and can’t wait to read more! This is another enthralling read in which so many insights into past character behaviours from earlier novels is revealed, especially pertaining to Logan and his actions. Five years ago he learnt what it means to be a werewolf, saved his twin brother from a sniper and broke his own heart and that of his then girlfriend and prom date, Vivianna Lopez - aka Vivi and Anna. Now he’s a camera shy signer songwriter, performing with his group, Logan and the Howlers and she’s an aspiring music journalist who is trying to interview him. As the two meet again after all the years, their attraction is still there but his unexplained rejection hurt her badly and she definitely hasn’t forgiven him. He knows she’s his one and only mate and, after seeing her again, he doesn’t want to let her go again. However, she doesn’t know about shifters let alone that he’s one - dare he reveal the truth to her or will it just put her into more danger? When she admits to investigating Nero, the stakes go higher as his wolf demands he protects her. Will Logan’s next howls be in sadness or celebration?
As well as the romance, the story has the continuing peril to the pack from the Nero corporation, a secret organisation with lethal jaguar shifter assassins and brothers vying for their father’s approval and attention. They are plotting domination, can the pack thwart their plans and keep themselves and the existence of shifters secret?
I’m loving this action packed series but have a serious problem - I always want to know what’s going to happen next! I really enjoyed the romance development between Logan and Anna but now can’t wait to know if Logan’s brother will also find his mate soon, poor Luke is really in the doldrums being the only unmated one - please give him his HEA without too much turmoil, Lisa!

Vivi was still in love with Logan even though he hurt her feelings 5 years before when he left her. Logan was still in love with Vivi but he thought she would be better off without him because he is a wolf shifter. Vivi has no idea why he decided to leave but she needs to get an interview with him now since he's a famous rocker and his band is really popular. Vivi is a journalist and wants to make a name for herself with a popular magazine and getting this interview could do that for her.
Once they see each other, the old feelings pop back up but Vivi also hates him for how he left things and how he makes her feel. So she goes looking into another story that could potentially be dangerous. A scoop on a story about a government contractor and top secret defense contracts. But Damien Severino is where her story leads her and he wants the world to know that shifters exist.
Because of Damian, Vivi and Logan finds themselves in danger more than once. But Vivi is determined to help Logan who she now knows is a wolf shifter. The wolves don't want the world to know that shifters exist. They've done everything in their power to make sure they stay a secret.
The romance between these two is so sweet because they never stopped caring about each other. Vivi is a strong woman and I liked that she didn't let him get away with leaving her and hurting her. She made sure he knew that he made the wrong choice and that she wasn't going to trust him right away again. But I think she understood more when she found out what he was and why he thought he had to leave her, it just kind of made more sense to her.
I loved Logan's pack and thought the characters were great. I love this series even though it's taken me a while to get back to it.

Because of her use of intriguing world building and engaging characters, Kessler’s group of shifters and their mates stories have become a go to series for me. Each book is about a different pack member and each tells how that one shifter finds his mate. Along the way in these books, panther shifters and their unique world also became part of the series when some find their mates among the wolves. Since panthers and wolves are mortal enemies, it’s made for some compelling reading at times. The panthers in this series belong, or used to belong, to a secret organization known as Nero, that does torturous experiments on shifters-panthers, wolves, or a hybrid of the two. This has been the cause of much of the suspense, scary moments, and even deaths in these books.
Twins, Logan and Luke have been peripheral characters throughout this series. Logan is lead singer of a local rock group, Logan and the Howlers. Because he is a shifter, and because his band doesn’t know that, he keeps the band local and doesn’t tour even though the group is now famous. Logan has loved the same girl since high school. Loved her and left her at seventeen, because he couldn’t handle being a shifter and keep it a secret from her as well.It didn’t help that he realized she was his mate back then, but knew he had to let her go to follow her own dreams. Anna has never gotten over her heartbreak when Logan left her. She went on and got her journalism degree, but now she’s back and on assignment to get the illusive Logan to do his first ever high profile interview. Second chance romances are sometimes the best!
I’m a sucker for romances that feature rock stars so this one quickly became one of my favorites of this series. Logan was perfect for this story as the elusive rock star-elusive for both the public and initially, for Anna as well. He still doesn’t want to bring her back into his dangerous world, but since she is his mate, he can’t stay away from her. Anna of course, is still in love with Logan, but tries very hard to put him off. Yeah, that’s so not happening! So I did enjoy both of their characters, and we do get both characters point of view-something I always appreciate in a romance. Madison, a peripheral character in Ice Moon, is back as Anna’s best friend/roommate. Anna actually was first briefly introduced in that book as well. And of course Luke has a much bigger part in this installment. I liked him and hope he has his story next. Part of Kessler’s world building has only males getting the werewolf gene and when born, they are all twins. A villain from a previous book is featured in this book, as well.
Romance, sexy times, good characters, interesting world building, and a compelling danger component (which I won’t tell about due to spoilers) make this series a must read for me. I love catching up from one book to the next with all the characters that I have grown to know and appreciate/love. It’s an adult read and I would highly recommend this and the whole series to paranormal romance readers, or even to readers that enjoy romantic suspense, because a good read is a good read, regardless if it’s paranormal or not.

New to me author, Lisa Kessler really caught my attention with Blue Moon. She wrote extremely interesting characters with a story line that was exciting, fun and fascinating.
Logan knew that Anna was his mate when he walked away from her 5 years earlier. He didn’t want her to give up on her dreams and knew that he had to stay in his home town. His dreams of starting a band came true but, no touring, no interviews … he comes off as a recluse and a loner but, he has to hide his secret, protect his family and brother werewolves. There is no place in his life for a mate especially when it could put her in danger.
Vivianna needs the interview with Logan to cement her place with Rolling Stone. But, while doing some freelance work, she stumbles on another story. One that, unbeknownst to her, could get her killed. But, after one meeting with Logan, she knows that this interview will either break her heart again or give her back the love of her life, the one man that she compares all others to. One kiss is all that it takes for her to realize that it’s going to be impossible to walk away from him again. As he begs for her forgiveness and tries to push her away at the same time, she is more confused than ever. As she decides that following up on the Nero Group is the way to go, Logan has to step in, tell her the truth and hope that she doesn’t running screaming from him.
Anna needs to figure out if she is strong enough to be a part of Logan’s world. As things start getting scarier and lives start getting threatened and ruined. Anna finds out just how strong she is as she protects those that have taken her in and immediately treated her like family. But, at what cost?
Blue Moon is a Paranormal Romantic Suspense. And, Lisa Kessler does a fantastic job at bringing all of these factors together in one story. Logan was strong, sexy and mysterious … then a total open book. He was romantic when he needed to be, full of surprises and, in the end, the happiest man alive. Vivianna started off closed up, in protection mode. But, once the truth was told, she opened herself up and became one kick-ass woman. She was inquisitive, fun and protective of those she loved. Apart, they could have been two amazing people. Together, they were unbelievable.

Lisa Kessler has done it again. Logan is a rock star who just so happens to be a werewolf who has kept his secret to himself since his first shift at 17. He left is high school sweetheart, Vivianna (Anna), without any notice, leaving town for the "glamorous lifestyle". Now, Anna, is a reporter working on a story for Rolling Stone - can she get an interview with the elusive rock star, or lose her heart once again?
Fast action and sexy as hell - Blue Moon is a fun read.

Second chance at love, sexy rock star, strong heroine, fabulous writing…there is so much to love in this book!
When a work assignment brings Vivi and Logan back together there’s no denying the chemistry that still exists between these two. And now that Logan has a second chance, he’s not willing to let Vivi go…of course getting past the whole “I’m a werewolf” thing while keeping Vivi safe from the Nero organization makes getting and keeping this second chance a bit of a challenge, but Logan knows he won’t be able to let Vivi go this time.
Vivi has lots of reasons to hate Logan, but if interviewing him will help her career as a journalist and maybe even help get her a bit of closure, she’s all in. Even though she knows how deeply Logan hurt her, getting her body and her mind on the same page proved to be a bit of a challenge, but unless Logan could be honest with her, Vivi knows that she would never be able to trust him. But Logan isn’t willing to let her go so easily.
I loved Logan and Vivi together. Even as they were trying to find their way back to each other you could feel the love these two shared. It was frustrating at times watching them struggle, especially as Vivi questioned whether she could handle fitting into Logan’s world, but the end result was definitely worth it! And having a rock star sing to you…Vivi was one lucky girl!
The threat from Nero added a nice element to the book. Things are really starting to escalate and played heavily into Vivi and Logan’s story. The wolf pack is on high alert and I loved watching the pack pull together to face the threat. And of course setting us up for the next book…I cannot wait for Luke’s story!!!
Another fabulous read that had all the emotion I’ve come to expect from Lisa Kessler book. If you haven’t checked this series or any book by Lisa Kessler out, I would highly recommend you do. Guaranteed to give you a case of the feels! #GoWolfPack

Well that was such a good book!! I was worried I wouldn't care for it or be lost since I hadn't read the books before it BUT this can be a stand alone book. Even though I do believe I am going to read the other books because I adored all the characters and can't wait to know more.
Logan is a rockstar/werewolf who let go the one thing that ever mattered 5 years prior. And her name is Vivianna or "Anna" she is his one true mate and a very good journalist. Only bad thing is Anna doesn't even know werewolves exist let alone Logan being one. And even if she did she doesn't care if it is Logan. He left her high and dry 5 years ago at prom night. Never looked back. Now Anna decides to get an interview from Mr Rockstar himself. Except Anna does still very much care for Logan...
I think they are such a cute couple. I love the whole back and forth. And I completely understand why Anna was mad and wanted him to tell the truth. On the other hand I understand why Logan ran.

I love the chemistry between the characters. You know it's true love when the passion is still explosive even after a few years. Plus, who doesn't love a sexy rockstar?
There's something about starting over that gives a fresh spin to things, and Logan and Vivi definitely needed a fresh start. I really appreciated Logan's patience when Vivi was confused or scared to try again. I also loved the support that the Pack provided Logan when he needed it most.
I couldn't put this book down. Every page had either romance or action injected in it, and putting it down gave a jolt of pain every time. If I'm not mistaken, this might be the first book that I've read of this series, and now I want to read the rest. What rock was I hiding under that I didn't realize how amazing this series was?!
Anyway, I can't wait for Luke's story, but to be fair, I'd rather keep him to myself.
There's something about starting over that gives a fresh spin to things, and Logan and Vivi definitely needed a fresh start. I really appreciated Logan's patience when Vivi was confused or scared to try again. I also loved the support that the Pack provided Logan when he needed it most.
I couldn't put this book down. Every page had either romance or action injected in it, and putting it down gave a jolt of pain every time. If I'm not mistaken, this might be the first book that I've read of this series, and now I want to read the rest. What rock was I hiding under that I didn't realize how amazing this series was?!
Anyway, I can't wait for Luke's story, but to be fair, I'd rather keep him to myself.

I am a new reader to author Lisa Kessler which will also put me new to this series. Knowing I’m jumping into the Moon series six books in know I’m taking a chance being lost but the blurb sounded good so I thought I would take the chance. Muses, mates and rock stars are what lured me in, and fingers with crossed I started reading Blue Moon.
All told I really liked Blue Moon. It had a nice combination of second chance love mixed with a paranormal element. Logan was a great male lead. Rock star and wolf shifter always makes for an interesting mix. It always has me wondering how one goes out on tour when you have to keep an eye on the possibility of changing. Vivianna, Vivi or Anna (whatever you want to call her) also made for a good lead. Having her heart broken five years earlier by Logan, she is now an aspiring journalist one story away from landing her dream job. And that story…that would be to interview the very camera shy, very elusive Logan.
Vivi and Logan make for a very good couple. There’s plenty of drama between them with the whole walking out on her with no explanation why. Flash forward five years and there are still feeling between them but love isn’t always that simple. The secrets Logan has kept for so long is what has kept them apart but now he’s ready to share them all or risk losing her again. Things can’t all be that simple especially when you factor in Nero but in the end, but it adds a nice element of intrigue and adventure that make their HEA worth waiting for.
As I already mentioned, I’m new to the series so all the back stories with the secondary characters and the secret organization that is hunting down the pack has me kind of lost. I see a lot of potential there that has perked my interest and has me wanting to go back to read the previous titles. So while I think Blue Moon has the ability to be read as a by itself, to get the full impact of this series and all the richness it has to offer, I recommend reading all the books.

I also really liked the tone: it’s young, it flows well, and it’s brilliantly written, with very natural-sounding dialogues. The romance felt real, as did the chemistry between Logan and Vivi. BLUE MOON is an excellent paranormal romance with intelligence and heart.

What a seriously great book! Right away you are caught up in the life of Vivianna and Logan. Logan and Anna(Vivianna) are inseparable since they were young but when Logan stood her up on the night of her prom and then wouldn't speak to her again she decided to be done with him. Vivianna tried to go on and forget about him even calling herself Vivi so she wouldn't be reminded of him. She has a chance to write an article for Rolling Stone on Logan but he is rude to her when he sees her talking to his brother. He finally grants an interview but they can't get past their attraction to each other.
Logan had to leave Anna alone because he turned into a wolf and realized Anna was his mate but he had nothing to offer they were 17 years old. Now that he sees Anna he can't let her go again so he decides he has to tell her the truth and she may leave him when he does. Well Anna doesn't leave him but she doesn't actually believe him either so when she leaves the house to meet someone with a potential story she takes her friends brother but he gets dragged away by a panther. Logan is able to save Anna but at what price? Can she live in his world? Time has passed but she has never been able erase the hurt of being stood up on prom night and left to wonder what happened. Years later, while trying to get hired for her dream job, she must reconnect with Logan who holds the key! One interview, just in and out, is all it will take. However, Logan won't let go of Anna this time! There will be no wasting of a second chance. He just has to find a way to regain her trust...
Well, all the crew are back for a another glimpse into Pack life and this time we focus on Logan and Anna. Reconnecting after their high school breakup will be a challenge Anna may not be up for as the political and personal fallout involving the Nero Organization continues to plague them. Anna thinks she is ready to help defend Logan's family after she learns the truth of why he left her all those years ago. But, when she is faced with reality, she is no longer sure after being forced to use her firearm.
This is an awesome series! It has everything I love in a book! HEA's, Sexy guys, grounded and realistic heroines, action, suspense and a setup for the next book (even tho it definitely can be read as a stand alone). I am just not sure why anyone would want to do that...

It's a wolf-shifter romance, a popular rock star romance, a romance set amidst pack camaraderie and politics, a suspenseful mystery and more! It's perfectly-paced and action-packed with completely endearing characters!

They were best friends and evolved into young lovers. They dreamed about being together forever. He thought he was protecting both his pack and the only love of his life. But, the day he walked away from Vivianna, he died inside. He only allowed his true feelings to come through in his music - and those sentiments resounded with his fans.

I loved this couple and catching up with the pack! I like that the story is told from both of their POVs allowing the reader to get into each of their heads. Their feelings for each other felt so right and real and it was a treat to accompany them on their journey of re-discovery. Neither of them expected to be blown away by their scintillating chemistry which has not abated over the years they've been apart. Even so, it's touch and go as to whether Logan will trust his heart and allow Vivianna the choice of whether she wants in his life knowing all the risks. I couldn't have been more proud of the pack as they trusted and supported Logan and welcomed Vivianna into their folds.

Even though BLUE MOON is the sixth book in Lisa's Moon series, it, and all the books in this series, can easily be enjoyed as stand-alone reads. That said, there are interconnected characters and, honestly, your pleasure would be exponentially increased if you've read the previous books. I'm betting that once you read one, you'll be highly motivated to read them all. Lisa's books are addictive like that.
Lisa brilliantly weaves the most amazing stories! I could not put this book down. Since I've read it, I have caught myself doing double-takes at mirrors - you will have to read the book to find out why. While reading it, my heart ached for Logan's brother Luke, and I was going to request in this review that Luke's story be told soon! He's so lonely. Happy Days! That wasn't necessary! I was thrilled to find out that Luke's story is next in the series! WOLF MOON will release in November 2016! I can't wait for Lisa's next masterpiece! WooHoo!

I loved this couple and catching up with the pack! I like that the story is told from both of their POVs allowing the reader to get into each of their heads. Their feelings for each other felt so right and real and it was a treat to accompany them on their journey of re-discovery. Neither of them expected to be blown away by their scintillating chemistry which has not abated over the years they've been apart. Even so, it's touch and go as to whether Logan will trust his heart and allow Vivianna the choice of whether she wants in his life knowing all the risks. I couldn't have been more proud of the pack as they trusted and supported Logan and welcomed Vivianna into their folds.

Even though BLUE MOON is the sixth book in Lisa's Moon series, it, and all the books in this series, can easily be enjoyed as stand-alone reads. That said, there are interconnected characters and, honestly, your pleasure would be exponentially increased if you've read the previous books. I'm betting that once you read one, you'll be highly motivated to read them all. Lisa's books are addictive like that.
Lisa brilliantly weaves the most amazing stories! I could not put this book down. Since I've read it, I have caught myself doing double-takes at mirrors - you will have to read the book to find out why. While reading it, my heart ached for Logan's brother Luke, and I was going to request in this review that Luke's story be told soon! He's so lonely. Happy Days! That wasn't necessary! I was thrilled to find out that Luke's story is next in the series! WOLF MOON will release in November 2016! I can't wait for Lisa's next masterpiece! WooHoo!

While I love me some Lisa Kessler and Moon series for some reason this one has seem to rip me apart a little more then the others. These poor characters go through so much but yet they seem to come out in the end all the better and more lovable. Logan the rock star and Anna the left behind high school sweetheart get that second change and boy is it good.

Anna has always had big dreams of being a journalist. She just needs an interview with a reclusive rock star to seal the deal. A man who isn't a fan of the media or publicity. And he's also the same guy who she used to share her secrets with. The one who once held her heart and then in turn broke it to pieces. Yeah...that man.
Logan has regrets when it comes to Vivianna, but he still thinks he did the right thing by setting her loose years ago. Her bright future would have been dimmed by the dangers in his life as a werewolf. She has no idea about this other side of him or his Pack. And Logan hoped to keep it that way.
But when the pair reunites, it becomes obvious that their sizzling chemistry is still there. And no amount of effort to ignore their attraction will help. Logan can't stand the idea of letting Anna walk out of his life a second time. He just has to convince her to accept him as a werewolf and he needs to keep her safe long enough to rekindle their flame.
This was one realistic story. Not that I believe in fairy tale werewolves and shifter jaguars or women with the ability to set things on fire. No, I mean in the romantic sense. Anna really surprised me by being pretty darn sensible about protecting herself and her heart from the man who left her without a word. Heroines are usually so quick to take back the guy who did them wrong, but not this chick. She really made him work for it and earn her trust.
The romance was still spicy, despite the fact that Anna didn't faint at Logan's feet like the rest of his screaming female fans. The two had a lot of sexual tension and some hot-and-cold moments that left me wanting more. And I got it. There was no lack of romance in this book and I happily absorbed every page of it.
As for the paranormal element, it was a big part of the story and became more complex as the book went on. This is pretty far into the series so it was probably not the best book to start with. Still, I tried to keep the characters straight, especially with all of the little tidbits of information about character/couple history. And there was quite a bit of that too. I'm definitely excited to jump right into the next book.
In closing...
Dangerous villains, steamy romance, and hot werewolves! Four suns!

Logan is the lead singer and song writer of his band. Although he is in the public eyes whilst on stage, he keeps to himself and avoids publicity. He is a werewolf and if this was to be made public his life and those of his pack mates could be in serious trouble. He is also pining for his soul mate. He can't move on without her.
Viviana/Viv aka Ana is a music journalist. She has known Logan since a very young age and they were childhood sweethearts until he stood her up five years ago. She can't forgive him and intends to move on.
When Viv has the opportunity to interview the elusive Logan, she jumps at the opportunity as this could help to further her career. At least this is what she tells herself. Logan is still in love with her but the first attempt at the interview ends in a fiasco because she is still angry with him for walking out on her. She doesn’t know that shifters exist let alone Logan being a werewolf. He is in two minds about revealing his secret to her. He dreads her reaction to the truth and now that his pack is in conflict with a powerful organisation, their lives are in danger. They know that they have a second chance but Viv won't budge until she receives an explanation from him. Does Logan want to bring her in his dangerous world, should she believe him?
Viv has another story lined up and when Logan finds out he is determined to protect her. They start making a go at the chance that they have been given but when Viv is faced with danger and violence, she starts having second thoughts. The thing is that they are both still madly in love with each other. Can she be the one to walk away this time? Will Logan be able to let her go?
This story is fast paced and has a nice flow. It's full of danger, loyalty, greed for power, love and sorrow. All the characters are well developed. Logan and Viv are ideal for each other. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel and would recommend lovers of the paranormal.

Look, let me be honest here: there are times I wonder why I review Lisa's books. Why? Because I say the same thing over and over in each review: this woman's books are f**king amazing! I am not a werewolf person at all, but I find myself deeply invested in the fate of the Pack...and of Nero as well. While each book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you read them in order only because by the time you reach Blue Moon, you will be as hopelessly in love with each Pack member and their mates as I am.
I love dual POV in stories, and each book has them, and especially in Blue Moon, Logan's voice really comes across strongly. Perhaps it is because I love music and musicians, but I really felt for his character. I think he is the most emotional member of the pack, and I fell in love with him almost as hard as I fell for Gareth (sorry, Logan, I still love Gareth the best).
While Lisa writes great love scenes, I have to once again bring up her brilliance in writing action scenes and mysteries. She's been slowly unraveling the history of Nero and interweaving these disparate characters' stories together for six books now, and not many authors can do what she has done. There's action, suspense, mystery, and romance, all bundled up in a well-written adventure that you might be able to read in one sitting (it took me two because my e-reader's batter died).
You do not have to be a fan of werewolves OR romance to like these books. I don't often do romance, but Lisa can bring happy tears to my eyes. Check out the Moon Series and pick your favorite Pack member!
(Oh, and I have to mention again how much I LOVE the jaguar shifter Sebastian. I think he'll always be my favorite character in this series.)

This is one of my favorites from this series!! Plus, the narration was excellent! The male and female narrators were both terrific, and I loved the listening experience! The male narrator was perfect for Logan; he had a deep, gruff voice that fit a wolf shifter. Each book can be read as a standalone, but I'd recommend starting from the beginning since the previous characters are in this book and there is a continuing issue with a group of bad jaguar shifters. I love the action scenes, and seeing more of the wolf pack. I love shifter romances! Logan is a wolf shifter, and I love how much the shifter angle comes into play in this series and in Blue Moon. Blue Moon is a very entertaining story, and really draws the reader in. I love the backstory between Vivi and Logan. They've known each other since they were kids and fell in love, but Logan broke Vivi's heart without telling her why. It's about 5 years later, the two run into each other again, and this time Logan can't resist the pull between Vivi and Him. The romance is sweet and very heartfelt, and I just loved how much they connect. I liked that Vivi holds Logan accountable for breaking her heart. I get where Logan was coming from; especially after how Vivi acts after some events, but I'm glad to read that he knows he could've handled the whole situation better. I could feel the love between the two while reading. Wonderful book with wonderful characters! Terrific listening experience! I'll definitely check out more by Lisa Kessler! She's one of my favorite authors!
