Henry James certainly traveled a lot! (He accomplished his Grand European Tour before he even reached 18.) After reading this I figured Edith Wharton to be a very kind friend of James' — transferring her $8,000 advance to a financially unstable James without his knowledge has left its impression on me.
Locations mentioned (from early childhood to death): New York City, Switzerland (Interlaken), Geneva, Newport, London, Venice, Paris, Rome, Rye, Cambridge (MA).
The photographs in this book were cool to look at. I liked the pictures and etchings of Dutchess County.
