The Zen Christian: Faith and Meditation: The Spiritual, Physical, and Psychological Benefits of Christian Meditation

Rate this book
The Zen Christian: Faith and Meditation presents a contemporary viewpoint on the topic of how and why Christians should meditate. Written with a strong foundation in scripture, Faith and Meditation is written specifically for Christians with a curiosity about meditation, but might be concerned as to whether or not it is compatible with their faith. Also written specifically for the disenchanted believer, or the believer who is looking for a deeper and more intimate fellowship with God.

Faith and Meditation explores the various methods and techniques for meditating on God, God's Word, and the zen-like qualities of Jesus Christ.

Focusing less on the mechanics and more on the benefits of meditation, readers can learn how to experience an increase in spiritual awareness, how to experience the physical benefits such as lower blood pressure, less stress, fewer worries, more joy and happiness in their daily lives, and the psychological benefits such as being less anxious, learning how to let go of offenses, and how to live a more peaceful and satisfied life.

Kent Merritt is an author, screenwriter, and songwriter. He toiled in and around Hollywood for decades trying desperately to find someone to take his screenplays seriously and turn them into major motion picture blockbusters, but it never happened.

He then worked as a ghostwriter on a few screenplays for an independent film production company in Studio City, California, hoping they would be turned into major motion picture blockbusters, but it never happened.

So, he left Hollywood and returned to his home state of Oklahoma where he now lives with more realistic dreams. He switched gears and started writing and self-publishing his own books in the hopes that someday, someone in Hollywood would read one of his books and turn it into a major motion picture blockbuster. It has yet to happen.
