How far would you go to claim back your fantasies? When Grace Anderton's boyfriend betrays her in the most public way possible, she loses everything - even the dark fantasies that have sustained her. Enter the Filth Monger. Heir to a fortune and criminally handsome, he can have any woman he wants...and he wants Grace. But he has his own agenda. Head of a secret organisation dealing in depravity, his life is going to shit around him. As he struggles with his own betrayals, he makes it his mission to save Grace from her one-woman ride to ruin - whether she wants him to or not, and by any means necessary. Even if it means throwing away the chance of having her for himself. The Filth Monger series is a set of three interlinked Romantic Suspense novels. Due to scenes of an adult nature and some (extremely!) bad language, it is intended for a mature readership.
When Grace's boyfriend of seven years makes the paper with his arrest with a prostitute Grace is literally the last to know. When her boss Max tells her to take the rest of the week off she is surprised to meet a dark stranger in his office. The stranger has his own set of problems but something about Grace calls to him and the author doesn't really let you know how he feels about her but leaves it for you to guess. Fair warning the story ends in a cliffhanger so beware you will probably get mad to have to wait.
I really enjoyed this book. Here in the UK we see so much tabloid exposure on footballers and their WAG's and this story takes you behind the scenes as it were. But there's also much more going on in this book, like two stories in one that combine the wag Grace and the filth monger, and I cant wait to see where the author takes us with this. I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I will just encourage you to take a chance on this author and read what is the start of a great story. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series, so hurry up and write it Annabel, you have fans waiting.
I would have read more, but the whole singular quotation mark for dialogue really grinds my gears. Not only is it incorrect, it makes it difficult to read. I try not to be harsh, but sometimes it’s unavoidable. The only saving “grace” that made this a three instead of a two was the storyline, but again, it wasn’t enough to keep me going.
