Rise - Part Two

Rate this book
The second part of RISE, a three-part series from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Deborah Bladon.

Tess Marlow has finally started her new life in New York City. She's found success with her event planning business and as she's let go of her past with her ex-boyfriend, she's found comfort and excitement in the arms of Captain Landon Beckett, an airline pilot.

Just as they begin to test the waters of their new relationship, someone from Landon's past reappears and it changes everything. Tess wants to believe in Landon and as he confides in her, their bond only increases.

He supports her in every way and as she focuses on her business, he picks up the pieces of the painful past that his family must now face. He's there for his mother, and his brother, in a way that Tess admires. He's everything she's ever wanted.

With the acceptance of Landon's past, Tess is forced to face her own family's demons. Nothing can prepare her for the shocking discovery of the bond between her and Landon that she never knew existed.

Note: This ends in a cliffhanger. Part Three will be released within the next few weeks.

Deborah Bladon had never read a romance hero she didn't like. Her love for romance novels began when she was old enough to board the bus, library card in hand to check out the newest Harlequin paperbacks. She was a Canadian by heart, and by passport, but you could often spot her in New York City sipping a latte and looking for inspiration for her next story. Manhattan was definitely her second home.

She cherished her family and believed that each day was a gift for writing, for reading, and for loving.

Rise Part Dos

I usually throughly enjoy Deborah's books but this one just didn't quite do it for me. I think part of the reason it didn't it because I read part one so long ago I forgot what had happened. It took me a while to get into the book and then it sort of started to lag a little. I found myself skipping over mundane information and any part that had to do with Lilly Parker (is it just me or is Lilly a lot more annoying than she was in her book?). The only redeeming part of the book was the very end and its most likely the reason I will buy that last book in the series.

As the bond between the ambitious event planner Tess Marlow and the sexy airline pilot Capitan Landon Beckett grows, so do the demons they must face. When a traitor ghost from Landon's past barges into their lives, Tess finds herself wanting to protect and sooth him. Landon's life is forever changed with the reappearance of his once believed to be dead father. Everything he felt for his old man is shattered in his father's web of lies. Landon is kind and supportive of his mother and brother in a way that makes Tess fall deeper for him. Ansel is still trying to get back with Tess, but that relationship is done and over with. Only scars remain. Scars she isn't ready to share with Landon. As the investigation into Landon's father's action evolves, Tess' life is thrown into the midst of it all and life as she knows it will never be the same. Deborah Bladon doesn’t disappoint in the second installment of Rise. As the romance between Landon and Tess moves forward, so does the surprises and curve balls…

Well well well...I kind of wondered if was hiding something.

I can't wait for part three to come out which should be tomorrow...fingers crossed. I waited a bit longer to read part two, cause I was hoping to hold out until I got my hands on part three. But alas I caved prior to part three's release.

Outstanding! Tess and Landon are growing as a couple. Tess loves her job and the ties of friendship that it's bringing. What's most beautiful is the honest open relationship she has with her father. Unfortunately, secret pasts are starting to surface and people are going to be hurt. An excellent book! Great writing and an incredible cliffhanger. Congratulations Deborah Bladon. Rise book 2 is a win!

Deborah Bladon is one of my favorite authors! She is my go-to author and I read everything she writes. I know it will always be a huge page-turner full of steamy sex scenes and intriguing story lines. Her characters are all amazing and they get better and better with each book. Rise 2 picks up where book one leaves off and is full of more surprises. Can't wait to take off again!

Rise part 2

OMG, right now my heart is breaking for Tess, what a cliffhanger, so ready for bk. 3. Landon finds out the father he thought drowned, is still alive, but at what cost will truths be told? Landon and Tess are becoming so close, their relationship, so special, the connection, trust, until it's gone, and she feels like she never had it, a must read.

What the deuce?!?!?

I just don't think it gets any better. The cliffhanger of a Deborah Bladon book leave you needing more and crazy as hell all at the same time. I have to say for me personally without giving anything away this has been one of the most intense series I have read and I am loving it. Another on in the can!!

Wowza!!

Ms. Bladon has again given the reader a rollercoaster ride of a carefully crafted story that leads you on a path of romance, flirtatious fun, heartbreak and jaw dropping surprises. This book, like "Rise" book 1 is a must read. Tess and Landon met on an airplane and are on a journey of finding love and trust within each other until the unimaginable happens.

Holy Cliffhanger Batman!

Awesome ending and I can't wait for the next book. Great series as all of her books are. It brings in many of the characters from her other series and I really like Tess. She is strong and has a really interesting business. I'm not sold on Landon yet but I think that may be coming....

Seriously what?

This slow moving train just gets more and more confusing. Tess spends so much time with other people, there's really not enough between her and Landon to build a relationship on. Obsessed, Exposed, and Pulse were amazing. Everything since then has fallen short. Call me a drama queen, but I need more excitement.

Enthralling and breathless

The second book leaves you breathless from the intimacy and anxious to the clues that continue to make Landon mysterious. The friendship ands sisterhood Tess has with Ivy and Lilly makes you thankful for the dear friends one has near them.

WOW!

I really enjoyed this book! I believe it was love at first sight for Tess. Landon fell in love with her as well. I felt sorry for Tess at the end of the book. I'm ready for book three. I recommend this book to all romance and mystery readers.

Wow and the plot thickens. I have no idea where Deborah is going with this but my heart breaks for Tess in part two. So many questions with this cliff-hanger that only RISE part 3 will answer.

Wow...

Actually I felt like the story was a bit fragmented. Maybe slow getting to the point. Not surprised by cliffhanger but how much did Landon actually know. Wow....
