In those breathless moments between pleasure and pain lie the most poignant truths…
I have signed myself over to The Training House: my devotion, my obedience, my body. It is what I have always yearned for—to lose myself in powerlessness. To be made to. But this place is more than anyone could possibly prepare for, especially the Master of the House. He is too stunning, too commanding, bringing out a yearning for submission in ways I have never imagined, and I am lost in nearly unbearable desire. He uses my body until he brings me to tears, then tenderly wipes them away, enslaving me to him instantly, body and soul. I cannot imagine existing without him, without his wicked touch, his strict and sensual command…

Until I meet another slave, and he changes the game of kink for me forever. How can I decide what my heart wants most, without risking losing it all?

A copy was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

This is one of those books that probably works better for other readers but just didn't for me. This book is dark and for mature readers only. The story talks about a girl’s life as a willing bdsm slave 24/7 in the Training House. Control is given up completely to her Master. As a slave she lays at the feet of the Master all her fears, hopes, dreams and aspirations. She wants to be a well-trained and well-behaved slave and expand her limitations.

Girl has a darker side to it, it’s not the darkest one I’ve read but still has a nice edge to it. This is a bdsm story but one of the heavy ones. Romance isn’t widely explored; it’s mostly touched near the end of the book. I liked it just fine, but not as much as everyone else seemed to. It was too short, I’d like to know more about the lifestyle, and some sex scenes to have been more elaborated. I loved slave Christopher and the mystery surrounding him.

WARNING: This book is not for everyone. There are triggers that may offend you and it's an adult book. Please take the warnings seriously.

This is a very unusual book. I love kinky, dark, BDSM books but Girl is all of these and 1000 things more. The story is not obvious in the beginning but Ms. Bradley made me to keep on reading until the very end. The plot is slow but strong in a daring way. The setting of the story is extreme. And still, I couldn't put down this book. I needed to know what will happen to Girl. Ms. Bradley wrote a very kinky story full of emotions that kept me glued in my seat with this book in my hands. I felt like I was actually hearing the thoughts of a true submissive, the reasoning of the need for the pain. Totally insane but on the same moment, it made sense.

Girl needs to submit. The whole story is written by her POV and it's really intimate. Her personality is unique as I have never met a person like her but this is fiction and I love the possibilities of a book. .

Master is everything that Girl needs in a Master. I like him, especially towards the end that he makes more sense to me but not enough to have me under his spell.

The intimate scenes were totally crazy! They were a bit too painful, too cruel, too intense for what I am used to read but still they made sense in this concept.

The story ends with a cliffhanger. I mean a totally mean cliffhanger. I don't know if I can read immediately the next part of the story. Everything is so intense and feels so real that I need time to recover.

I recommend this book to the ones who love a kinky, deep BDSM book with attention for the emotions as well.

This is a novella-length segment of a series focused on a somewhat fantastical “training house” for hardcore submissives of both genders. It is told from the point of view of Aimée, a new arrival who has signed a contract for a year in order to fully experience total submission. Despite the premise being fairly overworked in BDSM erotica, Eden Bradley’s writing skills and superlative use of language make it a fresh and enjoyable read.

In no way could this book be accused of being BDSM-lite. Harsh punishments and rough sex are the norm throughout. Even when Aimée and Master Damon’s relationship evolves into something resembling love, it doesn’t diminish the intensity of their pleasure-pain play.

Readers who crave backstory should be pleased with the ample glimpses into the main characters’ pasts that are scattered throughout the story. The first person point of view provides both an intimacy and authenticity to the story as Aimée’s inner dialogue touches on her reactions to her experiences at the training house as well as her absolute need to serve. Since this is part of a series, it has a short story feel to it—the storylines introduced are left unresolved. Overall, The Training House, Book One: Girl is a well-written book with enough D/s action to satisfy all manner of BDSM readers.

Girl is the very first Eden Bradley book I’ve had the pleasure of reading, and I was gifted with an ARC from Ms. Bradley herself in exchange for my very honest review. I am truly humbled by this gift, as I was not at all expecting what I received. This is not a book for the faint of heart, and it is most definitely not a book for BDSM dabblers. It is a deep entry into the very heart of the BDSM lifestyle. This is the life’s blood of the community, and it is unseen by all except those who deliberately search it out and prove their worthiness to enter into such sacred space.

It is not in any way a romance novel, even in the BDSM sense. Rather, it is a stunning and evocative entry into the depths of the mind of a consensual sexual slave. Yes, you read that right. Aimée is not just a submissive, not at all; she is a bona fide slave – she yearns to be told what to do and when to do it, craving the pleasure of servitude to her master’s every whim at the complete loss of her own free will. The Training House grants her the inner peace she desires while demanding everything her body and mind have to offer. Short in physical length, this novella nevertheless draws you in and refuses to let go when you are finished.

The only drawback to me regarding Girl is that it is not a standalone novel. It does contain a cliffhanger, which to me is an instant downgrade in stars, but still a very strong 4.5 star rating. The writing is so rich and the content is so redolent with imagery that you cannot help but be enraptured by the sheer decadence of the book.

Disclaimer: I am friends with the author, but that doesn't affect the honesty of this review.

Girl is an incredible adventure into the darker world of BDSM... Not the occasional play session at a club, but insight into the perspective of a true lifestyle slave (which is not the same as a submissive). You can see how someone has unconventional needs that can only be fulfilled in handing over _complete_ control of all aspects of her life to someone else... her desires and motivations for doing so, and the elite few who can actually satisfy those intense cravings and the charisma needed to actually do so.

This is not a light and fluffy book, it smolders with sensuality and shows how deep the mindfuck actually goes. Eden's years of experience in the scene clearly show on every page, ringing true with authenticity. I can't wait to read the next book and see how the captivating cliffhanger is resolved. :)

Well that was...different. This is great BDSM fantasy, just not the type I'm into reading about. It reminded me of the classic film "The Story of O". A woman willingly entering a world to be trained into being the perfect sexually submissive slave. Hard core S&M is the ruling flavor here. Sure some of my other friends will like this a lot more than me. My rating reflects personal taste, versus quality of story. It does end in a cliffhanger, not in a drive you crazy type of of way though. You just have to go the next book to follow the couple.

Book One, GIRL, ends on a cliffhanger. Book Two, BOY, will be out this winter

My Review 5 Stars
Eden Bradley is a master with words. She weaves a story that keeps you captured until the end and even then you want more. “Girl” should be started with an open mind. It takes you on a journey through another side of BDSM that most aren’t accustomed too. Just because you are not familiar with certain aspects does not make them wrong. Aimée “ Girl” goes to the “Training house of her own free will.” At the beginning of the book there is a contract. Reading it is very important. I feel that sexual preferences can go as deep as you wish and know one has the right to judge. As long as you are a consenting adult and are not in harms way. Eden is not only an excellent writer she is an amazing teacher. If you truly wish to learn about life like situations and proper technics, Eden is your girl.
“Girl” truly opened my eyes to a whole other side of BDSM. I have read other books about slave kink, but nothing as in depth and open to possibilities. Aimée has a deep need to submit in the purest form and the Training House never fails a victim. “You love it, don’t you, little slut?” He asks. I want to answer that I do. But his hand slips between my thighs and finds my cunt slick with need. “Ah, yes. You fucking love it.” The classroom fascinates me. What an excellent motivator to learn. Dildos, bondage, orgasms, canes, butt plugs, paddles, metal claws, and whips are just some of the exciting toys used in “Girl”. The human mind is amazing; it can be everything or break you. “We all need something, Aimée. That’s why we do this. It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as there is no intent to damage anyone. Fetish is a coping mechanism as much as it is sexual. It’s the fulfillment of needs.” I am absolutely hooked and cannot wait for book two. Thank you Eden Bradley for all the hard work you put into your novels. You truly are a master!

I was given this book to read in exchange for review. This was the darkest BDSM book that I have ever read. I highly respect the author for going above and beyond with this very unique story. I enjoyed this book very much, I can't wait to read her next book "Boy"!!! I am HOOKED!! 5 stars, high respect for the BDSM lifestyle as well. Loved all the characters, looking forward to seeing them again.

This book is a look into the mind of a submissive. Pain, humiliation and degradation are facilitators of fear and contentment and it rules her mind and body. This is erotica in its nitty-gritty best.

Girl is a submissive. She only feels complete when all choice is taken from her. She craves a master who can take control of her body and her mind. This story is a journey through her inner thoughts and cravings that took me right along with her.

Aimee' has signed a contract that will make her a personal slave and the property of the Training House for a full year. She will be known as 'Girl'. Her first day, her first look at her new Master takes her breath away; the power he extrudes as well as his stature and beauty.

As her training progresses, a shift occurs and the Master takes a personal interest in her, and takes her to his room as a personal slave. Girl is not sure if this change is a good sign or not. She is completely content to serve and be used by him but wonders when it will end, and how it will affect her...

As a reader I found this story more of an experience than just a narrative. It made me want to know more. I hope to find out more in Book Two: Boy.

Wow! This is one dark, twisted story yet brilliant story. Eden Bradley nailed it with The Training House: Girl. A book with heavy BDSM themes and told from the perspective of the Girl, a slave. I have never read anything like this before and I was hooked from the first page as Girl meets her new Master and discovers just what awaits her at the Training house. The characters are detailed, the story is magical and it left me wanting more.

I will even forgive Ms. Bradley for the cliffhanger at the end, only because she does give a glimpse into book 2, Boy. Damn. I can’t wait to read his story.

Girl by Eden Bradley was one of those stories where I wasn’t quite the right reader for it. There was the potential for it to grip me, but I never felt any connection to the characters. Without the connection, I never much cared for the events. Not even the cliff-hanger of the ending could grab me fully.

Those looking for a read that offers something different and are okay with instalove are more likely to enjoy this, but it wasn’t quite for me.

Loved this book!! Beautifully written and engaging. I woke up on the middle of the night and had to finish it. The kink is extreme (to my eyes), but we get to enjoy it through her enjoyment. Can't wait for Boy.

Very well written, intense. This is on more of the pain aspect of BDSM which isn't my favorite, however I found it fascinating. I will finish the trilogy because this one is left with a huge cliffhanger.

Wow.

This is a worthy successor to _The Story of O_ and Laura Antoniou's Marketplace series.

As other reviewers have stated, this book is NOT for everyone. There is no HEA. There is only a hint of potential romance near the end. It ends on a cliffhanger, to be continued in the series.

It is not dubcon or noncon or abduction fantasies.

It is mostly a study in self-abnegation. Of a form of slavery that is utterly all-consuming.

Very intense.

I couldn’t finish

I got about 70% in before I finally gave up. It was just so boring. All telling no showing. Even the dialogue was telling and didn’t flow at all. It was just another device to tell us more boring backstory. Every scene was in her head told in a way we couldn’t even enjoy the naughty scenes. I wish I didn’t give it so long before I dnf’d it’s such a short story I thought I could finish it. But it’s just not worth it.

Too brutal for me. I cannot wrap my mind around someone wanting to be treated like the woman in this story. It is scary that there are people out there that are only to happy to treat another human with such disregard to what damage and pain they inflict. The beatings and torture this woman went through sounded horrific but what was also sad is that she seemed alright with it.

A combination of bdsm and love

This story is pretty predictable in that the master and slave start out as only that but gradually find themselves falling for each other., The book has its fair share of bdsm mixed in with the love story. But if you're into hardcore bdsm this isn't the book for you My apologies to the author.

Not sure at all why this book would get anything above a 3 for sure. Abuse starts from the time she steps into the house, she can't back out but Master can. Sic and twisted this is so wrong.

Eden Bradley has outdone herself with Girl: The Training House (Book 1). Admittedly, I am one of Ms. Bradley’s biggest fans. I have yet to be disappointed by one of her books, and I don’t expect I ever will be. Not only does she create stunningly interesting and complex characters, she lures us into their minds. We experience life through their eyes, we feel their emotions, and we become lost in their world. Ms. Bradley also has a knack for painting each one of her novels with the aura of the city in which it takes place. Whether it’s the moody setting of rainy Seattle, the mixed modern and Victorian aspects of San Francisco, or the sultry magic of New Orleans, each city has a particular ambience that is a vital part of each Eden Bradley novel. And it is another reason I immediately fall into her books and savor each page. But this book...Oh, this book! I didn’t like Girl. I loved it! Loved!

Girl is a surprising and delicious departure from Ms. Bradley’s usual BDSM romance novels. She deliberately and unapologetically pushes boundaries. It is shocking in its intensity, its truth, its darkness, and in its beauty. It is most definitely not the type of story everyone will appreciate or even understand. Girl is a journey into the life and mind of Aimée, a young woman whose need to relinquish herself completely, in all ways to one Master, is as essential as breathing. Aimée is not a submissive, content to include BDSM into her life. Aimée is a slave who finds bliss in the rules, restrictions, and inflexibility of service. And the Training House has what she has needed all her life.

I try to let my mind empty, but the only time it’s not spinning in some mad mind fuck is when I am in service. When I’m being beaten or restrained. That’s when I can let my ego go, when I become nothing to the point where my silly little worries or endless loops from my childhood stop whirling through my brain and I can just be.

Girl is a mesmerizing story I couldn’t put down. I understand and relate to the need for discipline and structure. Most people with OCD personalities require it. It is why many of us find comfort and relief in a BDSM lifestyle. Even though Aimée’s needs go well beyond mine, I nevertheless understand and loved her. She is not confused, misguided, or easily influenced. She knows herself implicitly. She is exactly where she wants to be.

I know this about the Training House—about all such formal places—that we are afforded few luxuries, and I had mine with my first meal. No, here the luxuries are in being beautifully bound, harshly punished, having no sense of self or time or meaning beyond what the Masters want us to be. Slave. Girl. Without identity. With no need for it. Yes, to sink into that. To drown in it. Bring it on.

What Aimée doesn’t expect is the immediate and all-consuming desire for the Master of the house. It is unlike any feeling she has had with previous Masters or Mistresses. It is at once disturbing and exciting. She is even more conflicted when she encounters a fellow slave who is addressed by name, Christopher, rather than merely Boy as are all other males in the house. Could it be possible to have such strong feelings for Christopher when she knows nothing about him? Ms. Bradley is making us wait until the release of Boy: Training House (Book 2) to find out. Dammit! But I hear it’s to be sometime this month. Whew.
