Before retiring, Medusa, one of the most wanted crooks and criminals, wants to obtain Prince El Bachari's diamond collection, kept inside Matrioska, the best-protected banking establishment in the world. To help him, he hires a bunch of criminals.
Between Alex, “the best blade in Calabrese”, and Karl, one of the best in the field of underwater welding, is also William, 110 kilos, insecure and sheltered through his many layers of grease, which protect him from everything, except the psychological suffering he faces. When Polkoff, a policeman with dubious methods, interrogates him, William reveals the betrayal that everyone has been targeted.
Once inside an ambulance, the hacker reveals the reason why friendship and love led him to serve 7 years in prison and how he later ended up there, at an open-door Matrioska, despite the programmers' efforts to build a “Russian doll made up of elements that fit together”, capable of preventing any violation. “A maiden who fiercely defends her virtue” and whose opening of the safe could only “be activated at the police station through a radio link encoded in 128 bits”. It goes without saying that Medusa got her way and that the security system was eventually hacked.
Volume 1 is just the introduction to the robbery, the bringing together of "all the drama pieces". The story, although entertaining, doesn't particularly stand out. The design is beautiful, but the palette is mainly dominated by muddy tones.
