OK, story-wise, it's probably the most Star Trek issue so far. Sure, it's scientifically incorrect even by old comic standards (seriously, the solution they came out with feels like something Mickey Mouse would do in his toons), but still, it's our good ol' USS Enterprise trying to save two planets from the inevitable destruction.

But. Since it's the Gold Key we're talking about here, we're also getting tons of nonsense that goes against not only lore, but also common sense. And yes, you can say that canon wasn't really that strict back in the days. But I'm pretty sure it was strict enough to consider Enterprise having thrust engines (that flow of exhaust gas from Warp nacelles is one heck of a view, I must say) and flying at maximum of 110,000 miles per second being a bunch of Tribble ***p.

I can only imagine what kind of shock this issue may cause to Mr. Spock. Because the stuff we've got here is so illogical that it can kill a Vulcan. Even if it's half-Vulcan we're talking about.
