The Red Coat Incident 4 cups humiliation 2 cups rejection 1/2 cup heartache 3 tbs regret 1 tsp tears A pinch of hope
Sarah's life is a bit of a mess. After only a year of living her dream, teaching the third grade, one catastrophic mistake has her packing her bags and running away. Lost and broken, she clings to the small hope that her old stomping grounds will be the perfect place for her to start fresh. When she walks into Little Bird Cafe, looking for a job, she finds herself unprepared for the sweet deliciousness that is Brandon.
The Olivia Incident 5 cups loyalty 3 cups stupidity 1/4 cup resentment 2 tbs distrust 1 tsp weakness A pinch of lust
Brandon's dream is finally coming true. His days may be long and hard, but he refuses to complain. He starts every morning in his kitchen, baking his signature pastries. With the students pouring into the college town he calls home any day now, he knows he needs help around the shop. When Sarah, the blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty, walks into Little Bird asking for a job, he can't refuse her. As her new boss, he tries to convince himself that he can look, but he can't touch.
When he lets her loose in his kitchen, her broken heart is mended, his battered heart is stolen, and they can't deny that they both want more. So much more.
[Book three in the Made for Love series can be read as a STANDALONE novel! I promise. Written for audiences 18+ years of age due to language and sexual content.]
There’s a place where your mind can escape, your body can find rest, and your heart can soar – and R.C. Martin wants to take you there.
In a voice all her own, she strives to capture the magic of a kiss, the passion in a lovers’ embrace, and even sometimes the breathtaking ache of a broken heart. A true believer in the power of love and the grace found in redemption, you can trust this hopeless romantic to take you on an emotional ride that leaves you forever changed.
4 stars! I always give good ratings for low-angst romances because they're my favourite :)
This is Sarah and Brandon's love story. Sarah is a 3rd grade teacher and Brandon owns a café and a bakery. They're both huge messes over their love lives in the beginning of the book. Sarah just lost her job and got her heart broken all at once, now she is moving to another city because of this, we try to guess what really happened with bits and pieces but we only get the full story later in the book as she's trying to get over everything. With Brandon it's just the opposite, we know everything and feel the extension of how messed up he really is over his love life, we are right there with him as he is finally coming to the painful conclusion that he needs to move on with his life. I just wanted to give him a hug.
Safe gang alert!
Sarah stresses-bake, just like me, when her brain is going overload mode she needs to bake something and then she can breathe a little. One day I'll stress-exercise... I'm working on it So she can bake really well and Brandon just lost his full-time assistant in the kitchen because of... reasons I don't remember now. Sarah applies for the job because she has to start over somewhere and she can't think about teaching just yet cause it's too painful to remember everything that she went through 4 months before. So they meet and it's lust/love-ish at first sight, the timing is not quite right for either of them but what can you do, right? You don't plan those things, it just happens ;)
*mild spoilers, I guess*
They become friends, they fall in love and they heal each other. I'm so poetic today It's sexy and heart-warming. So why not 5 stars? Because I thought the whole thing happened too fast, I think everything took place in a bit over a month and Brandon had just gotten out of his awful situation with she-who-shall-not-be-named, like, a day before he met Sarah, and I'm a big cynic that reads lots of love stories, sorry. Also, Sarah got a bit annoying around 70% for one chapter or two, she became one of those horny heroines that only think about doing it all the time, a little of that cliche of the virgin that is great at sex and has lots of big O's. But then I thought it's not like I can really blame her, I mean Brandon has a beard, a man-bun, he's not a manwh*re and he bakes the most delicious sweets, come on! You can't beat that, the man is a unicorn. So you can be as sex-crazed as you want, go for it girl lol
*end of mild spoilers*
P.S.: This is the second book I read by this author and like the one I read before, the author approaches the religion beliefs of her characters because it's something that plays into their lives and it's part of them. Again, it's in a really cool manner in my opinion, it's not focused on this, so if you're on the fence because you don't like those elements to be addressed in your romances, I don't think you should be. My advice is read the blurb and if you like the sound of it, just give it a try ;)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Sarah's life is a mess and when given the opportunity to run from it, she takes it. Too afraid to even tell all of her friends, her best option is to bake away her feelings. She turns to her old college stomping grounds hoping for a fresh start, with people who don't know what happened to her heart or her teaching job. Thrust into an uneasy roommate situation and all new people, she definitely doesn't expect to walk into Little Bird Cafe looking for a job and meet handsome baker and owner, Brandon. Brandon still can't seem to escape Olivia, despite the constant nagging from Daphne and even his own mind, he'll run to her when she asks. And she know he will. His dream has come true in Little Bird Cafe, but his plans are all shaken up when Sarah walks through that door with her long blonde hair, pained eyes, and love of sweets. That little rule of you can look, but not touch becomes a lot more difficult as they find themselves with more and more in common as both of their hearts mend and open up for new love in the kitchen.
I have both a girl crush (Sarah's just adorable) and a new book boyfriend (a baking man with long hair! just picture that man bun with flour in it), as well as a new author that I will be adding to my one-click list. R.C. Martin has an incredible way with words; everything felt real to me, from the characters to the locations. To start with, Brandon and Sarah are great characters. They're a little bit broken, they both have some baggage, and they both have a love of God. There is no over the top baggage, just two people with things weighing them down that learn to leave it behind and lean on one another. Their relationship is just plain cute, especially since it grows in the kitchen. They have the best dialogue and oh my goodness, some great sexy time. Add into that some amazing secondary characters and you have a perfect book. It was so easy to connect to this book and there were so many feelings!
I really liked the concept as well, because who doesn't love a man in the kitchen, especially a man who can make baked goods. I am totally a sucker for a good muffin, so sign me up. Yes, it was a bit insta-love, but it didn't drive me nuts like it so often does. The timeline, though short, works for the age of the characters and the situation they're in. The pace works well and definitely makes for an interesting, quick, enjoyable read. I, for one, have definitely met someone and a month later said this guy is it for me. There is definitely a unique tie into beliefs as well as sexual relationships, but I didn't find it too preachy or too overtly sexual. I genuinely enjoyed both parts and felt like it made for a really realistic relationship between the main characters.
I don't even care that I had a couple of things to complain about, forget those, I loved this book and that's about all that matters to me. It was cute, it was fun, it was downright sexy and had me blushing a times. I wish I had read the other books prior to So Much More, because even though it is a standalone I actually wanted to get to know the other characters. R.C. Martin has a way with words and if you're looking for a book with great details, compelling characters, and a lot of emotions, So Much More is definitely for you.
I received a copy in exchanged for an honest review, this does not influence my review in any shape or form.
So Much More is the second book I have read by R.C. Martin and I can assure you will be seeing more of her books on my blog.
I loved the writing, I was hooked from the first 5% and I couldn’t put the book down nor did I want to. So Much More is the third book in the Made For Love series, I have actually not read the series in order but I would recommend it. R.C. Martin has the incredible talent of bringing secondary characters to center stage.
So Much More is Brandon and Sarah’s story. Although it does carry a little bit of instalove, it works out perfectly. Why? Because R.C. Martin has written a story so beautiful that you forget how long has it been unless time is mentioned. The story flows perfectly from beginning to end.
I really enjoyed Brandon and Sarah’s characters. They were both a little broken and both are trying to find a way to fix themselves but to also fix their relationship about God. I personally love how R.C. Martin gives a bit of religion in her novels but it’s just enough that it isn’t preachy but more like gives you an insight on the battle many have with religion. For me, it was truly makes the story beautiful.
When I finished So Much More, I had one thought and one thought only: Please, let the next book in the series be about Sage. And I saw that my wish has been granted and you will see a review of it in January.
I had just finished a serious book and this was a quick and very cute story that lifted my mood considerably.
There are a few things about this book that I found myself thinking about between my reads. One was the story: who was Sarah and Brandon - what were they running from. It was a bit obvious, but it works for this story. The thing that really had me coming back to read was the dialogue. Okay, so there were some cheesy lines, but it was pretty honest and accurate.
Question: is there anyone out there like Brandon? He was adorable and a great book boyfriend. Hot and can cook? Sign me up! Sarah... had some baggage, but was cute and her naivety wasn't super irritating.
Some things kind of felt off for me, and I think it's just for me in particular. It was a little churchy-preachy. I know the author tried to make it seem ok for some things to occur, but it was still kind of preachy. But I can overlook that. It wasn't super-duper heavy on it, except for a few moments. I get that's a little of what brought them together and bonded them, but still.... it's not me.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. I didn't realize it was BOOK NUMBER 3 (!) in a series (I admit, it seemed like I should be familiar with some of the other characters, but I could surmise what was going on), and I will most likely read the others in the series.
If you're looking for something light and lovely, this is a great choice. Enjoy!
2 cups swoony man 1 cup heroine who wants to find "the one" 3/4 cup a common bond of baking, wanting to be loved, and trust 2 tablespoons of friends and coworkers who support their connection And a dash of church without being preachy
Mix. Bake. And watch it rise into something extraordinary.
Ya'll. This book. THE. FEELS.
We all know that there are only so many plots original plots out there. So while the plot isn't new (boy and girl meet...both have baggage...they work through the baggage...something upsets them and makes them take a step back to reevaluate...they realize they need each other...the end)--its how the plot is executed in order for it to work. When it works, we find comfort in the old stand-by. We feel. We connect.
This book did that.
The concept was adorable: a guy who owns a bakery, who hires the girl who needs a job because she's starting over. Rather than "insta-love" it's "insta-crush". And who hasn't had a crush on someone they spend time with?
The characters are written well, the emotion was great as I could FEEL what the characters were feeling.
The only thing I wished for was just a little more angst regarding her decision to give up teaching. We learned why she left. But it sometimes felt like a shoulder shrug. In her heart she wants to be a teacher, and I sometimes wished for a bit of a battle between the "I can't go back" vs. the "Maybe I could go back". While we know Sarah is content where life has now led her (definite growth in that!) a little bit more angst would have been nice. (that's just me, though).
There was a unique spin in this book around a relationship with God and being in a relationship that is sexually active. It wasn't preachy in the least, but it was a refreshing discussion and connection between Brandon and Sarah.
Overall, this is a great story and highly recommended!
I knew I’d love this story before I even started it. Why? Because it’s written by R.C. Martin. I’ve read all of her books, and I always look forward to her next masterpiece. She’s such a stunning writer! She did not disappoint me with Brandon and Sarah’s beautifully written love story. Each book just gets better and better.
I loved the fact that So Much More was entirely about Brandon and Sarah. I was able to focus entirely on their love journey, while I sat at the edge of my seat, cheering them on! I felt many emotions while reading this book. Happiness. Sadness. Frustration. But most of all? LOVE. I fell in love with Brandon **swoons and turns to a puddle of lust** and Sarah? What a sweetheart. She really is a ray of sunshine. But that’s Ms. Martin for you, her talent is making you fall in love with her characters. I’ve fallen for every. Single. One.
Oh now, let’s not forget about the sexy moments. Oh my. There were definitely many, many sexy times. I needed a cold shower! The chemistry between these two is off the charts! And the fact that it took some time for them to get there...made it even HOTTER!
What I love about RC’s stories as that we are always introduced to secondary characters in the hopes of a future story. And I’m always so excited to learn more about them. She gives us juuuust a taste...and I take the bait. Every. Damn. Time. I need more!!
What a lovely read! So Much More is everything you always look forward to in a great book. R.C. has a way of reeling you in with her compelling writing style, you just cannot look away from the pages. Amazing! Brandon and Sarah’s love story was a fantastic read and I am anxiously anticipating her next book, hopefully I won’t have to wait too much longer.
The description of this book really drew me in. I haven't read any of the other books in the series so I was interested to see how much of a stand alone this one could really be.
To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. I loved this book! I loved everything about this book - from the writing style to the characters to the storyline to pacing and everything in between.
Sarah is a great character - she is relatable & down to earth. She's the character we can all see ourselves in. She has made mistakes and has reached a point where she needs a reset button on her life. From start to finish, Sarah experienced a lot of growth (which I loved).
Brandon.......SWOON!!! A guy. Who bakes. And has long hair. AND A BEARD?!? Thank RC Martin for creating Brandon. He was a little bit damaged but oh so ready for someone to swoop in and repair him. His life experiences have brought him to the point in his life where he feels a little bit burned.
These two meet and wonderfulness ensues. They have so much chemistry that literally every person who comes into contact with them can see the sparks.
Everything about this story worked - from the main characters to the side characters to the pace and development to the arc and resolution. IT. ALL. WORKED.....and I loved it enough that I will now go back to the previous books and read them as well.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book I've read by R.C. Martin and it definitely won't be my last. I was immediately sucked in and could not put this book down. Sarah and Brandon we're both such likeable characters apart and we're even better together as a couple. as someone that loves to cook and bake I loved reading about all the time in the kitchen at LB. The way that Sarah and Brandon's relationship developed was really sweet and very realistic. Even though they fell for each other pretty quickly I didn't consider it instalove at all. There were so many little things along the way that they discover about each other that makes you realize very quickly that they're meant to be together.
It was a really sweet story and I loved everything about it.
I received this book for free from the author in exchange for writing an honest review.
So Much More... was just that, so much more. What a great book. Sarah & Brandon drew me in immediately and I loved all the secondary characters as well. Sarah was so "real" and I connected with her right away add to that Brandon is a baker and you have one heck of a book. I was also pleasantly surprised with how religion was brought into the mix and loved it.
This was my first R.C. Martin book, but it won't be my last. I was caught up in the story of Brandon and Sarah from the beginning. Their story started out as sweet, but moved to steamy HOT by the end. ;)
Well-developed characters and an engaging storyline, R.C. Martin hits it out of the park with So Much More.
So Much More is the first book of R.C. Martin that I have read and it won't be my last. I read this page turning book in an afternoon, I didn't want to put it down. Sarah and Brandon were sweet, delightful characters to read. This is the third novel in the Made for Love series.
I don't give my stars lightly. I love this book with my whole heart. So Much More is the third book in the Made for Love serie. So Much More tells the love story of bakers Sarah and Brandon. How they find love, and how the love for each other heals their wounds. So Much More is the first book I've read in the Made for Love serie. Gladly, that doesn't mean it's the last, because I'm certain it won't. I love how both Sarah and Brandon grow throughout the story. They both have secrets (that R.C. Martin reveals bit for bit throughout the story), and they reveal little pieces of themselves to each other as the time passes.
After reading the prologue, I was immediately engorged into the story. This was solely caused by the writing style, because that was amazing. I was also very curious about what exactly happened to Sarah. I wanted to know why she was so down and ashamed. In the beginning of the book, Sarah was in a really bad place. You don't know why, you only know it has something to do with the Red Coat Incident, but you don't know what that Incident entails. She is ready to leave town and to start somewhere else. After a month she finds herself a roommate in Fort Collins, a place she already lived in while she went to college. And she swore of men, unless you count her book boyfriends that is. I loved how she was a book nerd, like me, and that she loved reading romance.
Sarah has a hard time accepting herself. She is ashamed of herself. She can't even look at herself in the mirror, that's how much shame she has. She's also a lot in her own head. She disappears in it a lot while speaking with others. She was raised Christian, but with everything that happened she lost her way to God. Because of her religion, she is still a virgin. I think that she is really strong to keep to it that long, because she wanted to have sex with someone she truly loved. With the person she knew she wanted to share the rest of her life with.
Brandon is finally living his dream: opening his own café/bakery. Life is good, but he can't seem to end things with his 'best' friend Olivia. His 'relationship' with her is truly fucked up and twisted. I actually felt sorry for Brandon there, because he fell in love with a woman who has serious commitment issues and likes to play with his body and mind. (Mindfucking is one of her talents). But she hurt him one too many times and he lets her know that this time, it's really over between them. When he lays eyes on Sarah, there is an instant attraction. Normally, I don't buy that kind of attraction, as it strikes me as non-realistic, but with the way the attraction between Sarah and Brandon is written (the way how they are both awestruck), I totally believe it.
I fell in love with Brandon when I found out he has long hair (love, love, love). He can't seem to stay away from Olivia, even though he knows he should. He is also in his own head a lot. Same as Sarah, Brandon believes in God. He tries to visit church every Sunday with his beloved aunt (I loved Aunt Row). I also loved the friendship between Brandon and Daphne. She really cares about him, and that's so cute! Oh, and how cute is the nickname Brandon has for Sarah: Sunshine!
They both try to fight their feelings. Though for different reasons. Sarah just doesn't want to deal with men anymore, and Brandon is still hang up on Olivia, but Sarah being his employee is also a factor holding him back. The angst between them and the suspense of the two kissing, was really killing me (in a good way). I was anxious with anticipation. I also loved how Sarah talked about 'Incidents': Red Coat Incident, Lip Incident. Very refreshing!
The writer made it look like the time went really slowly. When I was at approximately 65% of the book, I thought months had passed, but it were only four weeks. There is so much happening and the growth of the connection between Sarah and Brandon is so credible, it seems like they have known each other for months. I also really had the feeling I got a glimpse of one month in the lives of Sarah and Brandon. Probably because you get to know Sarah and Brandon better with every new thing you learn in the chapters. They both tell you a little bit of their stories in the form of little flashbacks.
So, I really loved So Much More, as you can see. Sarah and Brandon are the perfect couple. They are seriously my favorite book couple right now and Brandon is my fave book boyfriend by far (hello man buns ♥)! So Much More is an absolute must-read! I haven't read the first two books in this serie, but I definitely will. I'm really curious about Daphne's and Addie's stories.

This is the first book that I read from R.C. Martin and although this is the third book of the ‘Made for love’ series, it wasn’t a problem for reading this story.
‘So much more’ is the story about Brandon and Sarah.
Sarah had one dream and that was to become a teacher and for one year she was living her dream and then she lost it. Sarah never thought that would ever happen to her but then she never thought that she would fall in love with the wrong man. Now, she hasn’t only lost her dream job but she also got her heart broken in the process. Luckily, she has some good friends who help her out.
Brandon’s dream is finally coming true, after years of waiting and hard work, he has finally his own bakery/coffee shop ‘Little Bird Café’. He’s a happy man, or at least he would be if not for the fact that he’s really tired of the long hours he does at the bakery and the fact that he just finished his ‘relationship’ with the woman that he has loved for many, many years but who never loved him back. He decides to concentrate on his bakery/coffee shop and his love for baking pastries. But he needs help in his coffee shop, the summer is coming to an end and that means in this college town that the students are coming back and that it will get very busy. Luckily for him, Sarah has moved into town and she’s looking for a job and since she loves baking so much, she decides to go to Little Bird Café to look for a job. From the moment they meet, there’s something special between them but both have been burned by love so the last thing they want is a relationship.
Brandon tries to keep his distant but it’s very hard. Sarah is very sweet and when he discovers that she loves baking too, it’s very hard to keep their relationship boss and employee. The more time they spend together the closer they become and the more they realize that maybe they were meant to be together. And just when everything is going like they hope for, the past is knocking on their door and they will have to choose between the past and the present.
Before I started this book I read somewhere that the writer wrote about God/religion in her books. So I didn’t really know what to expect but I really love the way she wrote about it in this story. And what I didn’t expected but what this story had were some very hot love scenes and I loved that too.
From the beginning I adored Sarah and Brandon and I couldn’t wait for them to meet each other. They were really perfect for each other and they really deserved to find their one true love. After reading and enjoying this story so much I will definitely try the other books in this series too. (Because I’m very curious about the other couples their stories too.)
Wow wow wow omg although I haven't read the first two books in this series it didn't effect my enjoyment or understanding of anything in this book because although it is part of a series it is a companion series. Meaning that it follows characters that probably appear in the other books but it is their story and characters from the other books appear in it.
Now having read this amazingly well written book who's characters and plot were well developed I desperately want to read the other two books in the series. I also know that this author will become both an auto read and an auto buy author.
Sarah was a fantastic and multi faceted character which made her a character that was really easy to connect with on many levels. While Brandon was a very strong, independent, loving and emotionally controlled individual due to the loss of his father when young and the treatment he's got from both his mother and his first love. I loved the fact that it was a love at first sight story between them but that the relationship developed slowly because Brandon didn't want to rush her or him self in any way because they had both been hurt by their ex's. As their love story developed I loved the fact that Brandon went from being someone who worked all the tome and wouldn't allow anyone to bake with him to some one who loved having someone (Sarah) bake with him as well no longer wanting to work all the tome because he just wanted to be with Emma all the time.
I found this book to be a rip roarer of a page turner due to the chemistry between Sarah and Brandon which meant that I could easily have read this book in one sitting because I was reading several chapters at time when I did read it. I found this to be the case because I just wanted to see what happened next.
This book is one that I will read again at some point as well as recommend it to / buy it for any one who I think will enjoy it.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review via the Goodreads New Adult Book Club Read it Review it programme.
So Much More is book three in the Made for Love Series by Author R. C. Martin, but can be read as a standalone novel.
"When I look up at him, it's like fanning through a rolodex of my favorite book boyfriends."
Brandon is such a lovable guy. We know from his first introduction in this book that he is all man, but has a soft side that is hot and can melt butter. He just can't seem to get it right in the girl department.
"...she's it. She's your new partner-in-crime."
Sarah is also an extremely lovable character. Having gone the route of love and loss on so many levels, she's in Colorado to take a break from the man scene and maybe find a future, if she can shake the past away.
"Look all you want, but you can't touch."
This has become the mantra for our duo. Circumstances and life may dictate a hands-off policy, but that doesn't mean the head and heart get it.
"When she smiles at me, it's as if she's gently squeezing my heart, reminding me that it's no longer in my possession."
Have mercy. So Much More was such a fantastic romance read. Brandon and Sarah were sweet, warm, and fresh just like the goodies they baked. Brandon could be hot as sin one second, and sugary as honey the next. He was all man. He gave as much as he took. And Sarah balanced him and added spice to his life. I loved this story because every turn of the page set or further developed a scene that played out like a beautiful movie in my mind's eye. The friends in this story were awesome. Some felt like old home, comfy and familiar. Some were new and added freshness and zing to the story that made me crave more of them. There were also some great surprises that made me immediately sit up and take notice. Another great addition to this series.
"Every word is written on my heart. And I want you. Always. "
So Much More is just that, so much more than I ever expected. R.C. Martin got this one completely right. In a time where it seems we aren't allowed to talk about Faith without offending someone Martin included it and it's importance in relationships.
Sarah is a woman who made a mistake, realized it and is trying to figure out how to move forward and rebuild her life. She's smart, loveable, loyal, compassionate, and so witty. Sarah's values are important to her and you can't help but admire her view on abstinence. I felt her innocence and shyness when it came to sex.
Brandon is a man who is in a very unhealthy relationship. It's completely one sided and is only being used as a toy of convenience both physically and emotionally. He lost his father several years back but continues the bond they shared in the kitchen. His relationship with his mom is not estranged but they aren't as close since his father passed. His relationship with his Aunt Row warms your heart and you can't help but fall more in love with Brandon.
Their meeting and journey to build their relationship is full of wit and playfullness. The supporting characters complete this story. R.C. Martin brings the best characteristics in the friends and coworkers of this couple.
Even when their pasts mistakes return and try to become obstacles in their relationship both Sarah and Brandon show how strong they make each other and support one another. I loved that there were no lies or mistrust between Sarah and Brandon but love.
Sarah and Brandon share such romantic and intimate moments that make you feel such a part of them. So Much More can be read as a standalone. It is such a beautiful story and I cannot wait to hear Sage and Millie's story.

**I received a free e-book copy of SO MUCH MORE in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.**
Honestly, when I started reading So Much More, I didn't know what to expect. I quickly found myself captivated by these characters, I felt Sarah and Brandon's pain even before it was revealed what exactly had caused that pain, and rooted for them both individually and together, hoping they would find the happiness they were both searching for and deserved in each other. Sometimes people come into our lives when we are a mess and are instrumental in helping us to sort that mess out. Sarah and Brandon definitely did that for one another. Something that very pleasantly surprised me, as I was not expecting it, was the integration of religion and it's importance to both of them. This book is incredibly beautifully written with characters that are written honestly and are very three-dimensional. They've made mistakes, sometimes they've made the same mistake repeatedly, they take risks, at times they might even feel as if the rest of the world has it all together and they don't but mistakes only define a people and their present and future life if they allow them too. Sometimes it is the unexpected, and not the specific formula that is supposed to fix all problems (marriage by a certain age, having children within a specific time frame, or even one's career), is what actually brings that happiness. So Much More was an excellent example of all of this and so much more in my opinion and it truly captured my attention and my heart while reading it and this is a book that I definitely plan to re-read, as well as to read the rest of the series and I feel it is definitely deserving of five stars.
I loved this story it was so amazing and emotional!!! All of the characters were just perfectly written and the flow of the story was spot on! Sarah has lost everything and is feeling totally heartbroken so she makes a decision, to move to a new place and a new beginning. Including finding a new job and making new friends (and meeting up with older, school friends too). Brandon owns his own cafe/bakery called 'Little Bird' and is looking for a new barista to work for him. He has an on/off friendship with benefits with Olivia who seems to play mind games with him constantly! Finally he has decided to end the relationship the day before a certain beautiful blonde walks into his cafe. As Sarah walks into the cafe, an old friend of hers Daphne is there with her baby daughter. Daphne is also a friend of Brandon's and she also worked for him before having her baby. Talking to Daphne, Her eyes land on Brandon. From the moment that Sarah and Brandon's eyes meet there is an instant chemistry between them. Brandon offers Sarah the job, with Daphne's approval. As the days go by Brandon and Sarah's relationship grows forming a wonderful bond between them. Will they be able to open up to each other about their pasts and heartbreaks and start to build their own future together? Will the twists and turns of their past resurface and drag them apart? Will their love be strong enough to pull through for them to finally get their HEA together forever? Reviewed by Tracy @ Ladies Of Love Review Team
I was hooked from chapter 1 in The Promises We Keep (book #1) I read all 3 in just under 2 weeks. I couldn't put them down. They are long but they are so well written and the stories are fantastic. All 3 of them are page turners. This book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading all of them so you are not missing out on amazing books if you don't read them.
So Much More the title is so fitting for this book. As that's what you get, so much more. Sarah and Brandon's story is beautiful. R.C has done a beautiful job with this book. This one is my favorite.
Sarah is a sweet, funny, smart, loveable and loyal young woman. She made a mistake that makes her rethink her life, her job, and her life style. She moves to a place she knows she was once happy. New job, new beginnings. She is determined to find her way and be happy once again.
Brandon is the sexy baker with the long hair, beard and beautiful eyes. His dad passed away when he was younger but he keeps the bond they both had in baking. He owns his own cafe/bakery, his dream job. Brandon has made bad turns in his life but he finally realizes his mistake and walks away from it.
You get everything in this book from the best friend to the bitch you want to kick in the face. From old friends to new friends. Bad mistakes to bad relationships. Bad turns to good ones. Love a beautiful love story that you dream of. This book had me crying, good and bad, smiling so hard till my face hurt but most of all it had me wanting more. I can't wait for Sage and Millie's book.
I have read all of RC Martin's books before and so I couldn't wait to read her newest story. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I love that this story is told in dual POV's because we are able to get both sides on the story, their feelings and thoughts. They are both running from their pasts and want to make something of their futures. When Sarah returns back to her hometown, she applies for a job at Brandon's bakery, Little Bird. What she doesn't expect is to catch feelings for Brandon and tried to keep him at a distance. Brandon keeps getting pulled back to his first love. He knows that he has to let her go because she is no good for him. That is when he meets Sarah. Sarah is a breath of fresh air to him and he didn't expect to catch feelings for her. But what happens when these two finally see that they are attracted to each other, will it turn bad, or will these two give in.
I loved Sarah. She was so relatable and I could see parts of myself in her. She just wants to be able to get a restart in her life and hopes that with this move she can get it. Brandon... oh Brandon... Who doesn't want a man that has a man bun AND can bake?! I loved these two together.
I only had a couple issues that are tiny. In the beginning, I thought there was soo much inner dialogue. There were many times that Sarah seemed spacey, but towards the middle of the book, it tapered off and I didn't have a problem with it. If you have not read this series, you definitely need to!
The Red Coat Incident. That one incident is all it took for Sarah's life to come crashing down. She had her dream job and a man who loved her. Or so she thought until that day in that Red Coat. Now, after only a year of living her dream, she needs a new start. She decided that she is not going to let that one mistake dictate her life.
Brandon is finally living his dream. He finally owns his own bakery and aside from needing a little extra help, things couldn't be better. Until Olivia shows up again and stirs him up. The Olivia Incident. One of multiple that continues to drag him down. It's time that Brandon learns that he deserves more, he just has to let her go and stop giving in to her persuasion.
RC Martin has done it again!! She never fails when it comes to bringing her characters to life. The connection I feel with her characters is one of the things that keeps me wanting more and more, so much more!! Sarah and Brandon have become one of my favorite couples of 2015! So Much More is lighthearted, refreshing and had me laughing from start to finish. I couldn't get enough of this book. It's an absolute page turner. This is one of those love stories that gives you hope that that perfect person is out there, you just have to open your eyes to what's in front of you. That it doesn't matter what trials you may be going through, as long as you have faith in God and believe in yourself, you'll find your way through the storm.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and in no way did that influence my review of this book.
This is the third book in the Made for Love series but considering that I haven't read the other two I can hand on heart say it can be read as a standalone and you don't feel that you are missing something through the whole book like you can do at times when reading a series like this.
Once I actually sat down and started reading this book I didn't want to stop. The writing flows and I just loved how it all came together. It is the first time I had read any of RC Martin's books but it won't be the last as I just loved how easy it was to read this book. I loved Brandon and Sarah as a couple but also as their own characters. You understand their past and how that shapes them and how it makes them so right for each other.
The story was sweet, I know that's not the best description but that's the first word that comes to mind. I loved the story and the characters but it's a sweet tale of two people finding each other and finding true love.
It is a lovely easy read that you can get lost in. I would definitely recommend this book to others and I know I'll be going back to read the other books in the series.
R.C. Martin always has a way of captivating and reeling me into her books. So Much More spared as no exception! It is told through an alternating POV between Brandon and Sarah. The characters are well developed, yet complex. I found myself being able to relate to each one in different ways throughout the story. The flow was overall steady and easy to follow. I did not want to put it down. Brandon: He is living his dream by baking in the kitchen at Little Bird Cafe that he owns. It is the one thing that has his heart besides Olivia. She stops in to town when she has time, uses it and puts it back up on the shelf when she is done with it. Brandon keeps holding on hoping that one day she will love him the same way that he loves her. He wears his heart on his sleeve. Sarah: She has returned to Fort Collins trying to escape her own personal demons, but she cannot get away from them. They plague her every thought and the only way she can drown them out is to bake. This is the third novel in the Made for Love Series, but can be read as a stand alone. You WILL want to read this and add the others to your TBR. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
Book 3 in the Made For Love series, and it just keeps getting better.
Brandon needed a new employee. Sarah needed a job. What they found was so much more!
RC Martin really hit this one out of the park. There were so many feels in this book. I immediately bonded with Sarah and Brandon's characters. I found myself experiencing all the heartache, hope, worry and love right along with them. There were a few moments where I literally laughed out loud, earning me sideways glances from others in the room. And I'm not ashamed to admit, here were also tears reading this book.
So Much More is the third book in the Made For Love series. It definitely can be read as a standalone, however I highly recommend reading The Promises We Keep and Reckless Surrender first because many of the characters from the first 2 novels make appearances in this one and there may be some spoilers revealed. I look forward to reading more of the characters from So Much More in upcoming novels.
Still recovering from a broken heart, Sarah decides she is not interested in men for a while. When she walks into Little Bird, Home of Brandon's Bakery with her friend Daphne, to inquire about a job, she sees Brandon and one look has her reminding herself, "she wants the job, not the man". Brandon is also getting over a broken heart, but does need help at his bakery. When he sees Sarah, he also feels the instant pull, but knows with her working there he will be her boss. Sarah and Brandon become friends as she works in the bakery. The bond deepens as Brandon discovers Sarah's shared love of baking. They are both still struggling to resist each other, but how long can they resist the pull? Will their pasts attempt to come between them?
This book had my heart melting so many times throughout the book! Even at 32%, I knew I loved it and had to give it 5 stars! Even if you haven't read the rest of the series (which are all stand alones), You Have To Read This Book! It is really soooooo good! I can't wait to read the follow-up spin-off series!
This Book Has a Few Spoilers Be Warned This book does contain profanity and sex scene so it isn't for everyone. Sarah is a school teacher and she is attracted to one of the children's fathers, who she thinks is single. When she gives her heart to him she finds out he is married and his wife has been away. She leaves her job and flees an hour and a half from her home to a small town she loved. She is looking for a job and she stops in The Little Bird Cafe for a job. She loves to bake and she is very good at that. She applies for the job and that is when she meets Brandon. He hires her and then finds an attraction to Sarah. He has been hurt a lot by Olivia and finds it hard to trust anyone. As time goes by he gives Sarah a lot more responsibility in her job and she is also allowed to help him bake some of his wonderful pastries. Brandon really likes Sarah and finds that she is also attracted to him. This is a nice love story and I enjoyed it and I know you will too. After all love is So Much More
Sarah runs after a humiliating incident with a man she thought she loved. She was ready to give up so much for him, including the one thing she planned on keeping until she was married. Finding sanctuary in baking, she finds herself drawn to the Little Bird Cafe and it's owner Brandon with all the sweetness and hotness that comes with him.
Sarah is very principled and has a strong faith in her religion, often going to the extreme of her beliefs. Brandon brings a balance to their relationship and brings reason with his understanding of his religious beliefs.
Brandon has his own trust issues after being taken advantage of for years by Olivia, who shows up in his life expecting him to drop everything.
This was a great community to be a part of with some great, fun and quirky characters. Sarah and Brandon's story is a sweet one of finding yourself and putting your trust in others. I really enjoyed this book and these characters. I enjoyed the role that faith plays in both their lives and the strength of their beliefs which shapes their lives.
