Sophie doesn’t care what anyone says—she wants Rooter. Labeled by the local news as a “vicious criminal,” he is the very image of one. But the tattoos, muscles, and brooding countenance only manage to intensify her interest in him.
After Rooter saves her from a pair of dangerous thugs, Sophie begins to see the man behind the visage. Regardless of the past he brings with him, and the dangerous secrets she can tell he is hiding, Sophie believes Rooter is a good man—one who will protect her with his very life.
Swept into a passionate love affair, Sophie realizes that while Rooter isn’t as evil as everyone believes him to be, being with him isn’t as easy and perfect as she envisioned. When his ex “friend with benefits” refuses to stay out of their lives, she demands he take action. Rooter refuses to cut his ex-lover completely out of his life, and Sophie isn’t sure she can accept the status quo.
When the same ex makes the accusation of a brutal crime, Sophie and Rooter’s relationship is left reeling. Will they be able to come back from the edge of the precipice they find themselves on… or will their love end before they ever even have the chance to savor it?

I should have checked goodreads before reading this :( The writing wasn't bad but it did need a lot of work when it came to characterization.
Unfortunately this book was not for me. I never was able to connect with the characters. The OW drama was over the top and left me feeling really disconnected to Rooter. His decisions and actions were just all over the place. Sophie for the most part was overly dramatic but I felt like she could have been a stronger person than she ultimately was.
Some readers like this extra kick of over the top antics but its not something I would actively reach for.
The MCs were characters I could not get behind. I couldn't like them. The things they did, the things they said and how they acted was just wrong.
This is not a safe read by any means. It's riddled with OW drama, a surprise pregnancy by the OW, a lot of crazy screaming matches and just unbelievable and juvenile antics by both MCs.
I was actually more interested in Bear and Miranda's story and they were the side characters.
2.5 Stars This review comes with a disclaimer… I purposely read this because I was in the mood for the H putting the OW first drama w/ a side of crazy, but if you hate when the H is blindly manipulated by the OW… you should skip. Also, for safety readers- there is no cheating, but he has sex once (all off page) with the OW after he met the h, but before they are together. He’s still in the “I’m not good for you” zone while she bombards him with texts, calls, stalking his window, etc. BUT…He sides with the OW a lot, so FYI.
Rooter and Sophie are neighbors. He’s been secretly stalking her for 3 years; she’s been secretly spying on him for months. It takes a while for them to get together, Sophie is pushing the full court press, but Rooter is pushing back because he doesn’t want her involved in his biker life. (which is never really never discussed) Just when things are going great for them, his ex-fuck buddy declares she’s preggers and the drama ensues. This reminded me a lot of THIS.
Bottom Line- This is silly, the h is very immature, and the H is an OTT alpha…and VERY clueless for a badass biker. It is drama driven not logically. If you’ve never had a craving to watch The Jersey Shore, then this probably isn’t for you. If you hate an H believing the OW over the h, the h begging for the H’s attention, characters acting like Jerry Springer cast offs, are in the mood for a romance, or something serious… this isn’t for you. But, if you’re in the mood for some trashy OTT crazy OW drama… this will deliver.
Just truly awful. This guy was disgusting. Supposedly crazy about the h, but gets jealous over a gay friend of hers and brings home a skank that he knows has feelings for him and parades her around in front of h. Has lots of relations with said skank and then gets all surprised when said skank ends up pregnant. Expects, basically demands that the h suck it up and deal with it so that he can be ok with the situation. Invites OW to family events and refuses to let h go. Allows OW, who was his supposed first love to basically rule his life, call and text all the time and put her and her wants/needs before h. He was just a loser really, there was no coming back from that stuff but the writer had to go and make it worse. The OW then goes to h's house and cause a fight where she falls and 'loses' the baby. H blames h, won't listen to a word she says about it even knowing the OW is a terrible person. He refuses to have anything to do with h and moves OW into his house, he says to help her.....ya really. Not sure how much time goes by but h's bf comes to tell her that she overheard OW bragging about breaking the H and h up and how there was no baby...but wait H had all this proof that she was pregnant....really? Bf tells her boyfriend who is H's bf and he immediately kicks OW out and comes to find h, demands to talk to her when he wouldn't listen to her before? Nope, this guy was a real piece of work. Tries to blame it all on OW. But you know it was his fault! They were each other's firsts and after they broke up, he'd go running back to her every so often and kept giving her hope they'd get back together. He's a sorry excuse for a man and this author should be ashamed of herself because this is not a romance and this guy is no hero. I will never read anything by this author again, she had potential she wasted it and life's too short to read bad books.

This would have been a solid 5 star rating if Rooter hadn't of said some pretty nasty things to Sophie and not believed her when an incident happens that was clearly out of her control and most definitely not her fault. That was so out of character for Rooter! I was totally shocked! Other than that I loved this book! Not your typical MC romance. It was not as dark and graphic as some other books. Yes, there was drama, some suspense, but it was the sexual angst that got me. Slow and intimate was what went down. Their love was beautiful, but yet not without heartbreak when a former ex threatens to come between them. One can't help but love both Rooter and Sophie! Together they just fit perfectly. I was so happy to see Rooter come to Sophie's rescue and redeem himself. She totally deserved his respect and belief in her. She was one strong and brave young woman. And, Rooter was one romantic and confident male. And, together they were on fire. This was one breathtaking and thrilling read!!! Looking forward to reading the next book in the series that promises to narrate their story again but yet in Rooter's POV...
And, such a hoot it was behind the meaning of Rooter's club name...lol!!!
What I liked: I really liked Ryan. He was a great friend to Sophie. I also liked Sophie(h) and Rooter(H) relationship (when he wasn’t being stupid).
What I didn’t like: I hated how stupid Rooter was when it came to the Candace (ow), I also hated how he didn’t believe Sophie (the woman he loves) over the ow (who was conniving and constantly trying to get him back)
How hot was it: 3 out 5
Triggers: ow drama (she fakes being pregnant with H’s child), drugs and violence from a side character
Final thoughts: This was a good story but I needed more. I wish we got to read Rooter confronting Candace and tossing her out. Honestly, I wish Sophie would have beaten her a**. I also want to know how she faked the pregnancy when she was in the hospital??? I have so many questions. I also wanted to read more of him earning her forgiveness. I just felt him saving her was an easy fix.

What is it about people believing alpha males have to be a**holes?
Maybe I am just getting over the alpha male phase or something? When Rooter repeatedly told Sophie "No" or forced her to promise something, I rolled my eyes and had to push through. I wanted to like this book. Honestly, I did. I fell in love with a "bad boy" type and he turned out to be a great man who loves his family... but douchey, he is not.
I want to read about a couple compromising, working things out. I want to read about realistic love where they actually take a breather and walk away for a moment, then come back and calmly work things out. I want to read about a male lead that uses common sense when it comes to the cliche skank trying to break up the happy couple.
One of my most favoritist things is when a blurb tells me the entire story of the book. It saves me a lot of time since I don't have to actually waste any reading it to know what happens.
Heat: 2.5 POV: 1st (Sophie) Trope: Bad Boy/Good Girl So, this is an interesting book for me to rate. As I am reading it, I was like "Oh hell no! This guy is an asshat. Why the hell is she so obsessed with him? Why does she put up with his shit?". Yet I kept reading. And then the crazy ex stuff starts and again I'm like "WTF!? Girl you need to leave NOW!". And then, near the end he does something that made me want to throw my kindle. And I love my kindle. And yet, I kept reading. I finished this book in 1 sitting because I couldn't stop. I was annoyed with Sophie, and I hated 'Rooter' and his stupid ass name, but I devoured this book. This is like a soap opera there is so much drama, angst, danger, skanky exes, and psychos. So, even with me not really liking Sophie and Rooter, this book was too engaging to put down. Now do you see why I have a hard time rating it? If I was rating it on plot alone, it would be a 5 star. But, if I were rating the characters, it would be a 2 star. But, I kept reading so that tells you how sucked in to this story I was! Will I read the next one? I am torn. Its from Rooter's POV and I am not sure I want to be in that asshat's head. But, I will probably not be able to stop myself. This book is like crack. Or really good European chocolate. You know you shouldn't indulge but you will anyway!
Sophie's neighbor Rooter is a one percenter. People view him as a criminal, dangerous, and no good for her. But when Rooter comes to the rescue during an altercation, that might not be the case.
This was my first "biker guy" book and I really enjoyed it! This book had me laughing out loud (specifically the teeth thing with Bear, and the "ROTO-ROOTER" talk.HILARIOUS.) while tuggin at my feelings.
Most of the relationship situations in this book were realistic. I understand the feelings and dialogue between Miranda and Sophie. They definitely had a sisterly vibe.
I loved the build up for Rooter and Sophie. Rooter was protective and sexy. There was quite a bit of drama involving the ex. All I will say is, we have all been in a situation where we say shit we don't mean. I felt sad and heartbroken at certain times.
It sounds like this is going to be a series and hell yes I want to read the second one.
Detailed spoilers/trigger warnings (if any) and final thoughts can be found below.
The FMC is Sophie. We find her living with her best friend and the BF’s brother in a situation less than ideal. The MMC is Rooter. He’s her neighbor and only recently have they spoken and introduced themselves. She’s harboring a crush for him and when he intervenes in a home situation, she sees him as more than just the rugged member of the motorcycle club he’s a part of.
We then meet Candace, the OW in the story. She is a piece of work for sure. Her and Rooter grew up together so he feels obligated to be there for her. She manipulates this to her advantage, and Rooter caters to her at all turns. They have been intimate in the past so that makes the OW even more crazy.
Sophie is fed up and voices this to Rooter quite a bit, without much resolution. One final manipulative move leaves Sophie betrayed and heartbroken. When all is revealed Rooter tries to apologize and get Sophie to trust in him again, and she does.
⚠️SPOILERS/SPICE/DETAILED TRIGGERS⚠️
*The FMC mentions several times an incident of SA from a prior relationship but no details are provided. 🌶️: 1.5/5: VERY slow burn. Like 78% of the way in until it happens slow burn 🤦♀️
Final thoughts: This book started fine. It’s an easy read that I had found enjoyable. As it progressed I began to notice more of the repetitiveness. It started to drag really bad and that never went away. Long story short, the book was too long and the author just boosted the word count for the sake of it.
The other woman drama is the only reason I did not DNF this. And while that was very good and there was plenty of it, she didn’t even get any type of comeuppance. The biggest incident I guess you can say, happened almost at the end, leaving no real chance for Rooter to even grovel for the things he said and how he handled it.
In a nutshell, great idea, poor execution. This one’s a no for me.

This book is undoubtedly one of the best I have ever read!! Suspense, drama, action, romance, this book has it all!! This is so unique, so...thrilling, that it has you eagerly turning the pages in search of more. A thriller, action, romance, suspense and drama, all rolled into an amazingly written book that captures many hearts.
Couldn't make it past 29%. This book is Boring. Really nothing goes on, there's back and forth, a lot of yelling inside the house and the H/h have misunderstandings every other chapter.
I decided to give up when Mike got kicked out as I started skimming anyway. It as the characters are teenagers. I was NOT going to read over 300 dragged out pages.
Good luck for those who read it. Hope you enjoy as we all have different taste.
This really gripped me, and I broke down in tears at the sad parts, which I never do! Very well written, and a great realistic bad boy romance! Highly recommend to everyone!
Can someone please write a good cheating/grovel story? How about one where there's actual grovel? I am so tired of these weak women who just take a guy's crap and take them back as soon as they say sorry or "explain".
Sofie lives with her BFF and the BFF's bro who is an addict since his parents died. The guy is mad at Sofie cuz he confessed to having feelings for her right after his Mom's funeral, and Sofie had just been raped by her bf, and she tells him she doesn't feel that way about him. She tries to tell him it's not a good time, but he pushed, and now he basically emotionally abuses her because his poor feelings got hurt when she rejected him. The bad boy biker next door comes to her rescue, and they sort of start up something, but her other BFF was just cheated on by his boyfriend, so comes over to Sofie and Miranda and Mike's place and stays. Rooter gets mad and without asking, just decides she's with Ryan and starts ignoring Sofie. This is hysterical considering he'll later tell Sofie he would never make assumptions without letting her explain. Anyway, he ends up blocking her number, so he doesn't see her text that Ryan is gay. He sleeps with his previous FWB, knowing Sofie will see through their windows. She goes on a date with another guy, and it's terrible, so she calls Ryan to come over to hang out and cheer her up. Rooter confronts her about being a slut. Seriously?! Thank goodness he would never make assumptions without allowing her to explain and let's talk about hypocrisy. Yes, a woman having two men around clearly makes her a slut when he used to sleep with all the club girls, which is how he got his road name. She had to "earn" that explanation. But ya know, having men around clearly means she's sleeping with them all, so yes, what a slut. Two men... I'm shocked and appalled. Sofie puts him in his place, and they actually start to date. His FWB is in love with him and causes trouble from the very beginning. He keeps excusing it and allowing her to text him inappropriate things, including pics and videos. We see even more of this in the next book, which is this one through his POV. So Rooter ends up saving Miranda and Sofie from Mike's loan shark lackies, and they finally give Mike the boot. Mike is pissed and ends up calling and threatening Miranda, so Rooter uses this as an excuse to babysit Sofie. He takes her and Miranda to his custom bike shop and the OW is there. He stows Sofie and Miranda in a conference room, not allowing her to meet the trash, then proceeds to be propositioned, groped and kissed by the OW. He smiles at her, laughs with her and even blushes at what she whispers in his ear. Not thinking about the window on his own building which allows Sofie to see everything, she takes off to Ryan's. Cue the it's not what you think BS. Candace and he have been friends since they were kids, so he can't just blow her off and be mean. He tells Sofie what Candace said, and it's worse in his book cuz she says something to the effect of let he know when he misses f'ing her tight p*ssy. In his book, he thinks about how he does miss sex, but he's the one who's been putting Sofie off, so it's his own fault. I get he's trying to do the right thing cuz she was raped but she's told him she wants it, and she's pushed to go further, but he won't. Then he has the nerve to contemplate what Candace said?!
Now I had liked Rooter's mom in this one, but in his book? NOPE! I got the vibe she didn't like or trust Candace, but in his book, she told Sofie that things would be hard but he and Candace had been friends forever and there would be hard days, so basically sticking up for Candace. Even Bear who doesn't like her allows Rooter to keep his head buried in the sand and doesn't actually tell Rooter that she's a spiteful b!tch who's lying. Of course Sofie listens to his ridiculous explanation and they move forward.
So they're together, but Rooter tells Sofie he has club business. She's going out with Miranda, so it's fine until he doesn't call when he said he would. She ends up calling him and hears Candace, tells him it's over and goes to Joe's to avoid Rooter. He follows Joe after he drops Miranda home and continually tells her they needs to talk and she's leaving with him the easy way or the hard way. She finally leaves with him, and he forces her to promise to let him explain the next day. His explanation is that he knows she doesn't like Candace, and he knew Candace would be at the annual club cookout, so he didn't invite her cuz he didn't want to upset her or have drama there. Sure guy, sure. But stupid Sofie let's it go. Candace's next stunt is to tell Rooter she's pregnant with his baby. Rooter then tries to talk Sofie into staying with him, then seriously guilts her into staying with him and tells her about his dad. What kind of d bag guilts a girl into staying with him when he's in the wrong? And in his POV, he doesn't once admit he's manipulating her or admit he's wrong in all of this. Candace obviously plays up the pregnancy, calls and texts constantly, still sends inappropriate pics, and she keeps telling Rooter they belong together, he can't ignore his baby, which he hasn't, and that he won't be able to keep up with his ship, the club, the baby AND Sofie. She pretends to have cravings, and she keeps pretending she's cramping, but oddly enough she won't ever go to the hospital, but she's constantly cramping and spotting and thinking she's having a miscarriage. But Rooter calms her, so she's totally fine when he's there, so he always goes running. Sofie tells him this is all BS and that women have been pregnant before and it's not this big of an ordeal, but he doesn't listen. I wish she would've pointed out that women have had babies without men before as well. They've been perfectly able to get their own fried chicken, and take care of themselves. I agree that of she's truly having spotting and cramping, then the father should know, but he should meet her at the hospital or OB/GYN. He's not obligated to run to her every 30 seconds and sit with her all day every day. It didn't raise any flags that she always had an excuse to not go to the hospital or doctor?! Rooter takes Sofie away for three days and ever gave his parent's his cell and his burner number so they could get interrupted time together, but as soon as they're back Candace pretends she was so upset at not being able to reach him that she almost lost the baby. Because ya know, his parents didn't know where he was if something was ACTUALLY wrong. OK this is beyond f'ing ridiculous! Sofie can tell he now regrets going away with her but she stays with him anyway. And in his POV, he doesn't want to hurt Sofie, so he doesn't say it to her when she asks, but he does regret it. Then Candace shows up at Sofie, plays a recording of her talking to Rooter about how they belong together and they make more sense. The recording cuts off when he says yes, they do make more sense cuz Sofie gets in Candace's face. Candace, of course, throws herself down the steps but pretends she fell. Sofie feels badly and runs over to make sure she's ok, but Candace won't let her and leaves. Sofie calls to tell Rooter what just happened and explains that she didn't touch Candace, but Candace gives a sob story about how she went over to try to make nice. And all of these morons believe it. Rooter gets drunk, goes over to Sofie's and screams at her, blaming her for killing his kid and tells her he better never see her face again. Meanwhile she's trying to explain, he doesn't believe her cuz Candace would never lie, never mind she's been lying this entire time but he's got his head so far up his @$$ he can see his own tonsils. He moves Candace in with him, but he's missing Sofie, but he's still mad. He admits Bear was right and he should have stopped to think things through before running over to yell at Sofie, but she's now moved in with Ryan. Miranda overhears Candace tell her friend it all went to plan. It was all fake to break him and Sofie up. Rooter confronts her, tosses her out and forces her to leave town for good. He then calls and texts Sofie who won't respond. He does his usual force her to talk, and he apologizes, but she tells him it changes nothing. She tells him they're over and he leaves, but of course he's not giving up because he hasn't done enough to this spineless girl. Now the confrontation and miscarriage BS all happens a little after 80% in the book, so you know there isn't sufficient time to resolve anything. Conveniently, Mike shows up at Ryan's to kill Sofie. She calls Rooter, he takes a couple bullets for her and ta da... it's MAGIC and all is forgiven. There's no convo, nothing about the BS with the OW and his behavior, but sure they live HEA.
So many rage reads lately... I love angst but none of my recent cheating/OW drama reads have been well or even decently written. Rooter needed to do a LOT of groveling before Sofie even considered taking him back. Not sure he could do enough to actually deserve to be taken back.
For a debut novel, the author has potential. I really liked the beginning of the book when they like each other and are getting to know each other but then it went downhill. Both of their personalities seemed to change. Rooter is a member of an MC but didn't come across like one (there is also no 'club' business ever mentioned and no club scenes), he started to act like a bit of a love sick fool. Sophie then starts to act like some mean girl! I understand that she was annoyed about his ex lover who causes trouble for them as a couple, but at times, I felt her reactions were a bit nasty.
I'm all for a slow burn romance, but I started to get as frustrated as Sophie when the first sex scene doesn't happen until nearly 80% into the story. At times I was also confused by the timeline when near the end his ex mentions Rooter and Sophie only having been a couple for a month. I can understand why some reviewers are put off by his ex but it didn't bother me that much that he slept with her as him and Sophie were not a couple at that point and he believed that he was the wrong man for her and he also thought she was sleeping with another man (although considering he knew everything about Sophie, I'm surprised he didn't know about Ryan and his preferences!). However, the whole plot device with his ex was very amateurish and didn't ring true.
Rooter shows some alpha male traits which I like, but then he just became a bit of a wuss and I hate it when men cry in books. The whole situation with his ex lover was ridiculous and the plot device to make Sophie forgive his behaviour was also ridiculous in my view and the reason they fell out was then never mentioned..
It ended without hearing anymore about his ex lover so I was surprised to learn there is another book but it seems like it's just the same story told from Rooter/Jace's POV and I don't like those stories and so won't bother.
Not bad for a debut novel. ARC provided by Netgalley.
5 fabulous stars!!!! So much that I loved about this book. Like I wanted to do a status update every chapter because I was so overwhelmed! Sophie lives with her bestie (Miranda)and her brother (Mike), they all have lost their parents and well it just works out better this way. But their neighbor, Rooter, makes the deal even that much better. He is a sexy biker who Sophie can not quit staring at. Problem is Mike has changed and he is a drug addict drunk and he is getting to become violent. Well Rooter happens to hear a few arguments and well let's just say he doesn't take lightly to men attacking women. Well one night shit gets real and Rooter of course saves the day. So now I mean who doesn't fall head over heels in the love with the sexy biker slash knight in shining armor?!?!?! So these two begin their journey... Rooter has had his eye on Sophie for quite some time but he knows she doesn't deserve the shit that comes along with being his woman. But he just can't help himself. Problem is he has some baggage and her name is Candace. And boy does Candace go around with her slutty self trying to make sure Rooter remains hers. Well this causes one hell of a problem for the couple. But she has messed with the wrong woman! Problem is our sexy hot headed biker has a soft spot for the ladies. Ughhhhhhh what is Sophie going to do?!?!
Ok now there were so many times in this book I couldn't handle my own emotions. Rooter is sexy and protective and boy do I love that about him but he is way controlling and super possessive but in the long run its like super freaking hot!! I laughed for so many chapters, I got giddy for more after that and I rode their relationship like they did so about every other chapter I was ready to knock some sense in to somebody. My heart broke a few times and I felt like I was a hot mess. And let me say I love Bear as well. I really love all the characters in the book, well except Candace and Mike. I mean this will make a killer series. So much happens in this book that you just never know what is around the corner. But I will say this is one bad ass biker that doesn't even have to touch you to get you panting! Lucky Sophie!! This will def be in my all time favorites folder. The author did an exceptionally well job on this book and I can not wait for the next book!!!!!!! **I received this book as an ARC from Patchwork Press via NetGalley and in return I gave my honest review**
Teiran Smith is off to a good start with this debut novel, Rooter, first in the Double H MC series! The next installment is going to be the story from our hero's POV - and who doesn't want to get inside the head of a tough guy biker who likes grand romantic gestures?
Jace Russo (a/k/a Rooter) is a very unique biker, probably the only biker of his kind that I have read. While he is an alpha male in club life, he likes to make these huge romantic gestures when it comes to his forever woman, Sophie. I mean these were big over-the-top fantasy-type gestures. He definitely had game. But for all his game, he had just as much drama in his life. He had the whole crazy ex-girlfriend thing going on - and she was a definite piece of work. Rooter also has the patience of a saint - seriously. I could not have dealt with Sophie's insecurity and drama if I were him. So Rooter is a keeper (even though I wasn't crazy about his road name).
Sophie is a tortured heroine college student, who seems to work more than she goes to school. Though that could have been because the book is taking place over the summer when she doesn't have classes. As much as I wanted to like Sophie, I just couldn't connect. She was too insecure and immature for me... and I know she is only 21, but it just made me feel too old. I wish there would have been a little more adult conversation (i.e. talking about their problems) rather than drama, cat fights, tantrums and flying off the handle. I would have also liked more back story on Sophie. She has had some horrible things happen to her, but they were only mentioned in passing. If those situations would have been developed a little more, I think it would have created a stronger emotional connection with her character.
I definitely think that my younger friends who like contemporary romance will enjoy this book. It's well-written and well-paced and it has lots and lots and lots of drama and angst. Unfortunately for me, this stuff just makes me feel old lately. Le sigh.
Sophie was a college student who had been raped which had help mold the person she is today. Jace Russo and Sophie are next door neighbors and Jace had been watching Sophie. But now Jace was Rooter was twenty five and a big bad biker with alot of tattoos and belonged to the One Percenter MC but he could also be kind and gentle. Lucy was twenty one and was insecure and a bit immature but she wanted to be with Rooter. Sophie has a gay friend Ryan who has always been there for her. Rooter sees her with Ryan and believes Sophie slept with Ryan. rooter won’t take her calls or read her texts. He then hooks up with Candace and parades her in front of Sophie . then Candace says she is pregnant and she comes first. Sophie always seems to be second even when rooter and Candace are no longer together. Candace goes over to Sophie’s and starts a fight and falls and tells rooter she lost the baby. Rooter blames Sophie . he believes Candace over Sophie. Then he hears how Candace revealed there was never a baby. I just didn’t like this whole story. Rooter supposedly loves Sophie but never belies her or believes in her. He also says some really nasty things for Sophie and she is suppose to take all he says and does and be okay with it. I just don’t believe that. Then some things are over described in this story like the meal Sophie and Rooter have. This also started a little slow. I would have liked to hear more of Sophie’s past. Rooter was disappointing also. It just didn’t do much good for me. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.
I wanted to like this book, I really did....but unfortunately I didn't. As some of the other reviewers commented, the drama was just way over the top for me.
Sophie was constantly running away from Rooter and assuming the worst. I found her incredibly immature and could not relate to her at all.
Rooter was too demanding for me. Sophie asks for space multiple times but he continues to deny her that space. His reaction to the fall was just way over the top. And Sophie forgives him almost immediately!! UGH
I recieved a copy of this book from the author for an honest review. 3.5 stars. The story started off a little slow for me but once things started heating up it was none stop drama. I thought this was a biker romance but the biker life is hardly mentioned, which is fine. Rooter is a one percenter, but they are not really bad bikers. The concentration is on Sophie and Rooter's relationship. Sophie and Rooter take us on quite a ride. At times you want to kick both of them. Even the actions of the supporting characters make you roll your eyes. I liked Sophie's chracter. She was strong throughout most of the book. She had her moments of weakness which is normal. She worked hard and was loyal to a fault. Rooter was supposed to be this tough outlaw, but he really was a softie for Sophie. He pretty much was perfect until he wasn't.Withought giving away too much, his actions toward the end were very disappointing. there are twists and turns and action throughout the book. If you like drama and angst then this is the book for you.
This was an awesome book! The only time I put it down was to sleep and that was only because I fell asleep reading. There was so much sexual tension that I thought I would explode once they even kissed. Rooter might be a big bad biker but he was kind and gentle and even cried. I love a protective, sexy biker. Swoon. This book did drive me a little crazy, though. Sophie and Rooter get very little down time. It is one problem after another. So, I don't really feel like I got to enjoy them together. I saw at the end that there is another book coming. I can't wait because I hoping things calm down some and these two can get married and have some babies! I was so happy to see a part two because I just was not ready to let go. So bring on book two!!!

WOW.... just WOW!! Never read this author before and gotta say .. I really liked it. I did like that the book did not go to crazy about all the MC stuff, i fact there really was not any thing about it. With out giving the book away, the story was an easy read and I could not put it down because of it. The only complaint I have is I wished the OW had a larger Karma pie than she did. I wished in the epilogue we got to find out what happened to after everything hit the fan. Oh and the fact that the H kept falling for the OW bs. That started to get real old real fast.
This "H" wasn't possessive, he was a controlling, know it all, hypocritical word I can't say here. He constantly put an ow first, lied repeatedly and kept playing the " I've never had a relationship, I don't know how to act" card. The ending is one of my all time pet peeves. It's a sad and lazy way to just magically make everything great again. I did not enjoy this book. I would have been happy if the h had of had a backbone and stood up for herself and actually kept that going for longer than 5 minutes before the H could wink at her and tell her he was so so sorry and everything be fine again.
Right...well...this was certainly drama filled. By the end of this book, I didn't like the hero and I certainly didn't like the heroine. But with saying that, I loved every moment of this story lol.
