Not inherently evil, elemental power can be mastered by those with both malevolent and benign intentions. The Elemental Evil Player’s Companion provides everything players need to build a character that is tied directly into the Elemental Evil storyline.
New race options include the aarakocra, deep gnome, genasi, and goliath. Additionally, a plethora of new spells put the elements directly at your command.
The Elemental Evil Player’s Companion, was original designed by Richard Baker, Robert J. Schwalb and Stephen Schubert, with additional design and development by Wizards D&D R&D.
This accessory is specifically meant to support the Elemental Evil–Princes of the Apocalypse adventure product.

Short and sweet additional rules with an eye on the Princes of the Apocalypse campaign's themes. However, this product is now comprehensively redundant: if you want the extra PC races, they're in Monsters of the Multiverse, if you want the extra spells they're in Xanathar's Book of Everything, and that's pretty much all it has to offer. A worthwhile free expansion that brings in new characters and spells. It's all well explained and beefs up the overall experience and expands the options. I just wish there had been a little more meat to it.
3.5 Stars. At the time of its release this was a fantastic free supplement that added new races and supported the Princes of the Apocalypse campaign. It is still nice to have around and I personally keep a copy next to my phb to this day but all the information found within that is useful to players has been reprinted. Still, it is free and chock full of nice information I keep a couple copies on hand for new players when I introduce them to Dungeons & Dragons.
Elemental Evil Player's Companion is a supplement to Princes of the Apocalypse. It was designed for the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons, set in Forgotten Realms, and released in 2015.
A tiny little print-on-demand version of an online supplement, this is technically the only dedicated official rules expansion we have for the D&D 5th Edition game at this point. Anyway, it's short, but it does have four neat race write-ups and a selection of neat new elemental spells. Very good stuff, just unfortunately brief... (A-)
