I like the self guided nature of the lessons in this workbook. It covers the major standards in reading literature, reading informational text, and some of the language standards. Each lesson has a tutorial at the beginning, some practice problems where the answers are stated with a rational as to why that answer is correct or the other answer is wrong, and some independent practice problems.
Every 2-3 lessons there is a short quiz that tests them on the ideas they should have reviewed for each standard. It is really one of the more student friendly/accessible workbooks I have seen for common core.
