A debutante by day, slayer of demons and vampires by night … life is very complicated for Sarah Carlton. It gets even more complicated as she tries to fight her growing passion for a Master Vampire, the Marques of Sanford. A forbidden attraction between deadly arch enemies … Vanessa Liebe brings Regency England to life in Lethal Union , Book 1 of Slayer, her new paranormal romance series.

Sarah Carlton is a debutante in Regency England and she is also “The Slayer.” She has the difficult task of balancing her life between the social whirl of the haut ton and slaying demons and the undead at night. To complicate her life further, Sarah knows a Master Vampire is coming to London – a vampire she has been ordered to capture rather than kill. But nothing prepares her for the Marquis of Sandford, or her attraction to him.

Dominic, the Marquis of Sandford, has come to London after hearing of the Slayer. Believing her previously to only be a myth, he’s curious to meet her and fight her – he’s not expecting to desire her and start wanting something else entirely. Then she is kidnapped just as he has convinced her to be with him. Can he rescue her in time?

This is a cute, extremely short romance book. Think Buffy the Vampire Slayer if Buffy were part of the Regency era. In fact, I think the book would have benefited from being a bit longer and maybe developing some secondary characters, maybe got a little more into the Slayer/Guardian elements a bit. But, it was quite enjoyable for such a short read. I definitely think I will read the follow up.

I enjoyed this little tale. I have a weakness for historical romance and vampires, so this was a nice little gift for the new year. Sarah and Dominic are an attractive couple and on the whole this was a nice bit of escapism for me. I do recommend this for anyone who likes happy endings

Sara Carlton is the Slayer. It is her job to patrol the night to kill vampires and other demons. This is not easy in the London of 1818. Women can't be seen around alone at night. Plus she is also now a débutante and must attend all the necessary functions to appease her parents. They know nothing about her extra activities. They just want her to find a rich husband.
Dominic the Marquis of Sandford has come to London to find out about the new slayer. He is a Master Vampire and intends to have some fun before he kills her.
This story is a lot of fun, especially for Buffy fans. It's a lot harder for our heroine to hide what she is doing than it was for Buffy. Our hero is totally unprepared for the reality of the tiny hunter.
A sexy and exciting start to the series. I loved it.

Sarah Carlton is a debutante in England and is also secretly known as "The Slayer". At night when her parents think she is sleeping she is out slaying vampires and demons. Aiding her is her best friend Lydia who is her guardian and although Lydia herself isn't out fighting vampires she lets Sarah know her greatest threats which at the moment is the Master Vampire.

Dominic is the Marquis of Sandford and knows when he sees Sarah that he must have her. He knows that she is the Slayer but little does she know that he is the Master Vampire and is supposed to kill her.

Will Dominic convince Sarah that they are better off together or will she push him away, knowing that her group wants to study him? When it is clear that someone else wants Dominic for themselves will Sarah find herself in more trouble?

This was a quick read and an interesting one as it is set in the past. I loved the balls and how Sarah was to present herself for all of the eligible men and that the men needed to be of a certain standing according to her mom. Then you have Sarah outside of that where she is killing vampires and I really liked the two sides of her.

Dominic was definitely interesting as he was almost captivated by Sarah as she was so different than most of the women out there. I thought it was interesting the things he proposed to Sarah about working together.

Fun and quick read!

What could possibly be better than a Victorian slayer & her Vampire suitor? Turns out it gets far stranger than that. If that sounds intriguing, you are in for the treat of your life.

I loved the first 80% of this book. It was perfection incarnate. Near the end it shifted to overly explicit sex causing me to skim past the ‘I don’t really need to know that’ sections. Sadly, I never managed to reengage again.

Since explicit sex (which creeps me out if it goes on for too long) is my issue and nothing to do with the author, I won’t ding the rating for that. But I will ding it .5 for causing me to disengage and lose interest in the story at the very end. Given most of the book was true perfection when rounding, I’ll round it back up to 5*. I know that sounds convoluted, but I’m just trying to be fair to the author. I thought 80% of this book PERFECTION. She did everything right. I thought the sex scenes at the end were too explicit and then in the wrap up wasn’t strong enough to re-engage me.

So how can 80% justify a 5 star? It was that bloody good! I highly recommend you read this book. And I suspect most of you will enjoy 100% of it.

I'm not normally a period drama person but I love paranormal so I thought I'd take a chance on this book and I'm so glad i did.
I drama of period lent itself expertly to the story in this book and kept me wanting more and more, the characters are written with so much depth that they jump out at you and to can see the coming alive with every word you read.
This book had me hooked from the very beginning and could see this series going and going with the lives of each character.
There is drama, strong women that are awesome fighters, love and amazing sex scenes.
A definite read in my opinion.

Gifted in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed how this author wrote this book.

Sarah is a vampire slayer, her best friend is her guardian in the vampire slayer guild. She is a debutante and a slayer, she now at the age for marriage. She is juggling being a slayer, debutante and keeping it all a secret from her parents. She has to find the master vampire and turn him over to the guild. They want to learn about him. This story has fighting, cat and mouse game, even romance. The author kept my interest with her writing.

This is the classic case of the hero falling for the person she is suppose to be hunting. Through in that its dealing with vampires and that its set back in the day when debutante balls and ladies talking prim and proper were the thing. But not Sarah, shes the slayer and she is looking for her Master Vampire to bring to the big wigs. But it didnt work out like she had hoped.
