I’d be okay on my own, but he adds to my life in a way I couldn’t do myself. Like how black coffee does the job to wake me up, and I like it alright, but milk helps it go down smoother. My life would be fine if I was lactose intolerant, but his cream makes it so much better— Oh, god. That analogy took a filthy turn, even if it’s true.
He shuts his eyes, drawing in a shaky breath. “Please don't hate me.”
His voice is barely audible, but those words still hit me. How could I ever hate someone like him?
“Callum, I won't be mad. There's no way you could do anything that would make me angry, I promise.”
“How else is the world gonna know how hot my boyfriend is?”
“They won’t.” He shrugs. “You’re the only one who gets to see me like that because you’re mine.”
“Say that again, babe,” I say.
“What?”
“Whose am I?”
He snickers, reaching up and pulling me onto him by the arm. “Mine.”
He stretches out his arms. “Alright then. Gimme a hug before you go.”
This man is gonna be the end of me, I swear.
