One Year Later: Senator Candace Reid is beginning her campaign for Governor of New York in earnest. Things have been relatively quiet in the Senator's life. She and Jameson have fallen into a familiar routine, navigating work commitments and inevitable separations.
Now, Jameson is about to confront a demon from her past. While, Canadace's three grown children present the couple with a few surprises of their own. Candace and Jameson are about to discover that life seldom remains predictable when politics and parenthood mix. That means changing plans. New plans begins with creating some Rough Drafts.
And just gets better and better. More laughs more surprises. It's like living with them in a way as you get caught up in the ups and downs of their lives. Just proves no one is perfect and no family is perfect. But together you can overcome most things thrown at you. Great sequel off to number five now.
I love this series! I know it will not last forever, but I will enjoy it as long as I can. JD & Candace make me laugh, as did Spencer, but they also make me feel mushy...and I so enjoy mushy! I am captivated by Candace's strength and JD's vulnerability. Keep writing them and I'll keep reading them. and if not, I'll just read one of this author's other series, which are great too. If you haven't tried them, do so now!
This is book 4 of the Design Series. Currently there are 10 books. Some are over 300+ pages. This one is only about 158 pages. Not only is it a romance between two women but also about their ever-going family. This is a pleasant series to pass a quiet weekend.
The saga continues this time giving some storyline to Jameson's past family drama, unexpected baby news, and the ongoing campaign for Governor. There is still fun and love but with a more series tone. This book is also slightly longer (157 pages) but still what I consider a novella. (3.5 stars)
Great series; I like having a series where the relationship develops and we follow them through the next stages and more day to day life. I'd be ok with some of the funny lines evolving with the story though.
A well written fourth installment in the story of Candace and Jameson, this book sees some major changes for all involved. Jameson faces a demon and tries to reconcile past hurt. Candace is starting her run for governor and fires her campaign manager over trust issues. Candace's three adult children are all facing major changes as well, relying on Candace and Jameson for guidance. The characters continue to grow more complex with each book in this series. If you enjoy lesbian love stories with plenty of happiness (but not sappiness) be sure to add this book to your must-read list. (No cliff-hanger.)
The love hasn't changed and the story just gets better. I know a lot of people aren't going to like the politics and the many things that seem like they wouldn't work in a romance, but I'm here to tell you- nothing is too much. It's realistic! We all have pasts and we all have issues that we've put off for 20 years or more and have to eventually face, and hope were lucky enough to do it with a partner that totally supports us. Its wonderful. Can't wait to get into book 5!
While not quite as impressive as the previous book in the series, this story does a good job of advancing the character development and storyline. The chemistry between the leading ladies and the development of the children as strong supporting characters is particularly nice.
This is the first time I have loved a book series from book 1 to book 5 now. Usually like at book 3, I get bored and find some cliches that piss me off but this... this is good stuff that keeps me interested in every chapter and yearning for the next book.
This book had a little bit more angst and drama than the previous books and I couldn't stop reading. Surprises and what consequenses those bring to the entire family.
I loved Pearl's son Jeffry and his history with Candance and to learn more about Jameson's past.
I can't wait to know more about the Fletcher-Reid family.
The characters face new and bigger challenges in this book of the series. The chemistry between all the characters continues to flow as well as grow. Between campaigns, past demons, and unexpected futures the family will stick by each other and make it through it all.
Fletcher-Reid clan are back in the fourth book of the series by JA Armstrong. We further dive into their lives and meet new members as the family continues to grow. This series is strong in love, laughter and sentiments. Looking forward to the next addition in the series.
If a book makes my heart happy, it gets a 5* review. I can not get enough of these quick, heartfelt reads. In this installment, we see more of how the greater family units of Jameson and Candace grow together.
So far I have thought this series is great. I love how all the characters interact with each other and how they will be there for each other no matter what.
Love Candace & Jameson!. There's 16 of these little buggers to work my way through.. not that it's a hardship. I wonder if I can get them all read by the weekend 🤔.
Okay so life is going well then a small spanner in the works. It seems like everyone thought Candace would be angry but i thought her reaction to the news was slightly dull. I wonder how this new baby will affect them and how long this new large happy family will stay a happy family. It seems like they are all coming together.
