In the new edition of Retire Secure! CPA and attorney James Lange supplements his proven methods for making the most of your retirement plans with updated information, analysis and examples as well as offers recommendations for new tax-saving strategies for retirees and older Americans. Always a strong proponent of contributing as much as you can to all the tax-deferred retirement plans available to you, Jim makes a convincing case for adding a slight modification to his pay taxes later adage - pay taxes later, except for the Roth. On the accumulation side of the equation, when individuals are working to save money for retirement, he delves into great detail on the differences between traditional and Roth retirement plan options.
Retire Secure! delivers the most sophisticated financial and legal advice in the most accessible of manners. Jim makes it possible for the reader to gain a unique understanding of these stages and plan for them.
Jim Lange, CPA/Attorney is President of three interrelated companies that provide financial services to IRA and retirement plan owners. Jim is the founding President of a CPA firm that does tax planning and preparation and a law firm that limits its practice to estate planning, the drafting of wills and trusts and beneficiary designations of IRAs and retirement plans. The third company is a registered investment advisory firm that provides cutting-edge Roth IRA conversion strategies and conservative money management. All three companies are located in Squirrel Hill in one location where he has been practicing for over 30 years.
Jim is a nationally-recognized IRA, 401(k) and retirement plan distribution expert. Jim is also the President and Founder of The Roth IRA Institute™ which helps financial professionals and IRA and retirement plan owners to get the most from their retirement plans using Roth IRA conversions as an integral part of the planning strategy.
He is the best-selling author of The Roth Revolution: Pay Taxes Once and Never Again. Jim is also the author of two editions of the best seller, Retire Secure! Pay Taxes Later. Larry King wrote the foreword for the book, and Ed Slott, CPA, wrote the introduction. The third edition of Retire Secure! is slotted for release Spring 2015.
Now, I'm 22 but I suppose it's never too late to keep things like retirement in mind. I've heard that by the time I get to the age where I can retire it'll be hard and stuff so learning these things now is probably in my better interest.
I've read some of this book as reference to things that I've been hearing in my workplace and it helps me understand things more. I'm glad to have this book in my library. c:
I won this book on a goodreads giveaway. It is fantastic. My husband and I are just starting to think about retirement and there are so many ideas in this book that we had not even thought about nor set up. A must have resource as you begin your retirement planning!
Retire Secure was a bit heavy for a novice like me to read but I passed the book along to someone who gets into heavy financial books and he liked it very much.
The main value proposition of the book is to condense a lot of IRS material and information and offer practical advice on how to maximize retirement funds (401k, IRAs, trusts, etc) while minimizing the impact of taxes to wealth. Besides the obvious strategies derived from current IRS, the author offers some good advice on how to schedule MRDs, transfer IRAs, schedule gifts to minimize wealth transfer, and other tricks related to avoid taxes in inheritance, including the applicable exclusion amount and the unlimited marital deduction.
Recommended as a basis to manage retirement strategies.
This informational reference book may have taken me a while to get through but the direction and advice is invaluable. There was much that I had not considered while saving for my retirement, and I am grateful for a resource such as this available to me now.
