Or is it she finally gets her guy?
We have been waiting, what seems like forever for Penelope and Nico's book, they are soul mates, but the timing has never been right. Fate has now decided that it's their time and not even Damon can stop it! I love seeing them together, but more than that I love seeing the Townsend brothers realise that their baby sister is all grown up, she has her own business, has a man who loves her and whilst she isn't as scary as Liv, she is very capable of kicking ass when needed!
This is the Townsend's at their best and as a bonus we get cameos from some of our favourite Keeneston friends too! PLUS we get a very promising teaser for Damon's book - the final one in this series, and the promise of a new series with our favourite Police brothers from New York. So much to look forward to! I listened to this on Audible.

Another great book by Kathleen Brooks. This is the second to last book in the Townsends series. It's funny, suspenseful, romantic, and everything you would expect from Kathleen.
Nico, though legit now, is still the head of an organized crime family. He has enemies and that puts everyone in his life in danger.
Penelope is the sweet baby sister of the Townsend Nine. No one really knows what she does for a living nor how dangerous it can be, not even her eldest brother Damon. However, Nico does and he has secretly been keeping Pen safe, from a distance. Her brothers convinced Nico that being a part of Pen's life put her in danger.
Now Pen is missing. The Townsend's team up with Nico to find and rescue her. Nico will do whatever it takes to find her, even if it means doing things he is not proud of and becoming the man he used to be. One thing is for sure, once he finds Pen, he'll never let her go.

Loved their story!
Nico and Pen, I loved their story! It is a stand alone but you really need to read at a minimum Damaged Shadows and all the other Townsend books to really appreciate all the little things ( honestly my recommendations to read all of her books because they are all in the same " world " so you get wonderful crossovers). Anyway back to the book.
Pen thinks her brothers are keeping Nico apart, Nico is staying away to keep her safe from his world but he still watches over her. she is kidnapped and her family calls Nico for help. Nico goes to war and holds nothing back. I wont say more because spoilers but I will warn you, do not consume beverages or eat while reading because you may choke or spit it out laughing 😆.
now to try and patiently wait for Damon's book which will be the final Townsend book 💔❤️. I have no doubt we will still see them though in the next series!

OMG, Kathleen Brooks does it again! Another fabulous book that had me hooked.
Penelope may be a Townsend, but she doesn’t let her family name stand in the way of her job or the life she has built for herself in London.
Nico has wanted Penelope from the very first day they met, but he has never acted on his feelings because of Damon Townsend. Damon can be scary, but underneath it all, he just loves his family and wants to protect them.
When Penelope is kidnapped, Nico and Damon are forced to team up to rescue her. It’s only a temporary truce, though, and with danger heading towards Shadows Landing, will everyone make it out alive?

I have been waiting what feels like forever to read Nico's story. Pen and Nico are a perfect fit for each other. I absolutely love the dynamics of Nico with the rest of the Townsends especially Damon. I cannot wait for his book next. I laughed and was on the edge of my seat the entire book. I could not put this down. I will admit I teared up at the end with the interaction between Nico and the Landry kids. Regardless of being a "mob boss" Nico has a HUGE heart. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

An excellent addition to the Shadows landing series. I loved how it included so many of the towns characters as well as new ones, tho I had to stop and think about who was who with the new characters at times. I have waited so long to see this couple together. Their story was completely satisfying. It will be hard to wait for Damon's story & what happened back in the day that effected Penelope & Damon so much.
The narration was terrific & fun to see what Eric did with all the various accents.

Freaking Amazing
Now this is what I am talking about. Loved every minute of Nico and Penelope's story. He stopped at nothing to find her, save her, and help her dream come true. The brothers were not a factor but a balm to heal what he know he was missing in life.
Damon, I need all his secrets because he was feared like he had mafia ties. I loved it.

Of course the author knocked it out of the ballpark

I’ve been anxiously waiting for Nico and Pen’s book for so long. Although Nico comes with a Mafia past, he has used his power to help the Townsends when they needed him. When her life is at risk, he comes through again and is ready to fight for her. And she is ready to fight for the relationship. Such a sweet and humorous story!

Been waiting for this one
From previous books we knew Penny was doing something overseas after college but not what. We learn it now when Penny is kidnapped and Nick and Damon start tearing up everything to find her. Shadows Landing does what that town normally does...help out. There are some funny scenes with Nico.

Lots of action in this story and it's a complete rush, from one country to another one! But Nico and Penny find each other and hold tight. Glad to see the spotlight on Bertha for a change! Good read!

Kathleen has another winner!!! So many familiar friends. I love Shadows Landing so much!!! Nico and Pen are amazing together. Nico is incredible. Pen is such a strong. Damon never disappoints. I can't wait to read Damon's and Suttons story!

Highly anticipated book didn’t disappoint. Nico, former mob boss, and Penelope the youngest of the Townsend family finally have a chance at love. Pen’s job puts a target on her back. Nico and the family to the rescue!

I absolutely loved this book. Nico and Penelope find love (romance, duh) and fight several mobs together along with family and friends and the church bells of Shadows Landing. Damon, the big brother, being protective and an alligator that likes... what? Wow, who knew. Well, they do eat marshmallows. Definitely awesome and worth reading.

Another One Bites the Dust
Love this series, this town, and family. I’ve always loved Nico’s character. Pen being the baby is hard but I’m glad she was able to show her family her worth and get her HEA. Now it’s Damon’s turn. Can’t wait for him and the Morrettis!
