Very good background on early oil explanation in Oklahoma. Relationships with Indians, government agents, politicians and all sorts of oil exploration characters. Book is based on Foster family, originally from Westerly RI, but developers of massive exploration lease on Osage Indian reservation.
Interesting to read at same time “Killers of the Flower Moon, about murder of Indians on Osage Reservation, driven by unscrupulous whites after riches from oil revenues.
