Kandi Steiner is a USA Today and #1 Amazon Bestselling Author living in Tennessee. Best known for writing “emotional rollercoaster” stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you’re a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she’s your gal.

An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women’s Studies. Her love for writing started at the ripe age of 10, and in 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.”

She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a hopeless romantic and found herself bursting at the seams with love stories she was eager to tell.

It was ok, I guess... I don't know, I think I expected more from it. "Sweat, alcohol, and sex. That’s the distraction I’m looking for, and Palm South is the perfect place to find it." And that's all they do actually, though surprisingly no smut in this one.
If I decide to continue, I will wait for some kind of bundle or something when it's all out because I don't fell like paying for every part that has only about 40 pages....

It’s difficult to rate each individual episode in this series, as it’s such an addiction that I immediately jumped from one episode into the next. Therefore, the following is a review of the first season, Rush, rather than this individual episode.

Rush is the first book in Kandi Steiner’s Palm South University series, and it wasn’t at all what I’d expected. I had expected the standard college romance, but this was so much more. We do not follow one couple, instead we follow an entire group of friends and get to see the ups and downs that come with college life.

This is one of those addictive reads that pulled me into the story in so many different ways. I adored how different the characters were, how many different elements there were to the story, and I could not put it down. I could not name a single favourite, as I adored everything. Each detail was different, and it kept me turning the pages at an insane rate.

There were a few things that were never taken as far as they could have been – I felt there were some elements that were introduced just to add another element to it – but this was not enough to lessen my interest. I loved how much there was in this one, and I’m eager to see how everything develops.

Without a doubt, this was an insanely addictive read that has me desperate for more of the series.

Episode 2 - Jess, Skyler and Bear's POV

Now that we have learned a bit about each character in Episode 1, this episode digs a littler deeper into these characters.

Jess learns who Jarrett is, her professor's GA. And we are introduced to Jess's little, Bo. Jess realizes that maybe she hasn't made the best impression on Bo when she decides to not take on a little this year.

We get to see the easiness of Bear and Sky's friendship and why these two are so close to one another.

Cassie chose Sky as her big and these two are quickly developing a close friendship.

And we get to see a bit of Bear's past and why he is so secretive. But there is normally more to a someone's past.

Looking forward to more from this exciting cast of characters!

Palm South, Episode 2:

This episode follows Jess, Skylar, and Bear, digging a little deeper into the characters.

Secrets revealed, pasts explored, and friendships tested.

The girls of KKB choose their littles and the Boys of Chi house are in trouble yet again.

Bear is dealing with family issues, Skylar is still killing it at the tables and Lei is being pretty mysterious.

Can Bo and Jess rekindle their shaky friendship?

Another fantastic episode and I can't wait to read the next one. These are quick, fast reads and they're addictive.

Episode 2! Great Episode!
This episode is awesome, I loved the first, so I was pretty sure that I was in for some juicy details in this episode. I was not disappointed! It is getting better and things are definitely heating up! I just love Jess and Skylar. I absolutely LOVED when Jess's bartender shows up again. Holy Woah! Everything is building up from book one through this one and I can't wait to see what happens in the next episode. I am totally hooked on this series. It really is awesome. If you haven't checked it out yet, do so now! Don't miss out! Start with book 1 though, it's only going to get better I can tell. I was given a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review.

This is the continuation of Episode 1. Things are starting to get more interesting at PSU. Now that the characters have been introduced, secrets are starting to be revealed and friendship are being question.

Again this is a super quick read and you must read the first episode. I enjoyed reading more about the characters as individuals but also how they are all connected. I am looking forward to whats next!

Wow, things are heating up so quickly. I definitely sped though episode 1 & 2 and i'm so hooked! I think Erin and Jess are my favourite characters so far. I'm just so in love with how each "episode" is released every Tuesday...kinda like a TV show only in book format! So creative. But goodness...! The secrets in this book!

Shabamm!!! Here we go with episode two and let’s just say that Kandi didn’t let us down this week. In the wise words of Jess “Put on your party panties and let’s go!”

Well we were warned that we would see more of Jarrett but I didn’t expect it like this!

“Jarrett, AKA the guy who had his hands weaved into my hair last week”

OH Jess Jess Jess what have you gotten yourself into?! I think you may have bitten off more than you can chew.

I have always had a soft spot for Skyler because of Black Number Four and I love being able to see the inner workings of her mind and her connection that she instantly had with Cassie. And in true Skyler Thorne fashion when she sets her mind on wanting something she won’t stop until she has it. This is true with wanting to have Cassie as her little.

I want to spend a little time talking about my second favorite character from Palm South University and that would be Bear big ole teddy bear. I love that he is always there for Skyler whenever she needs someone to hear her out and be shoulder she may need to lean on.

“Bear hugs fix everything” **Swoon** I think we all have decided that we need a guy best friend like Bear. But the thing most people don’t realize about Bear is that he is really good at hiding what is happening in his life and that makes my heart hurt for him. I want to know more about his story and what is going on with him.

What is Palm South University without a good party or two? And this episode doesn’t lack having a party. Nothing beats the line that Skyler lays on Bear the morning after the party. “You know I don’t sex and sleep. I sex and leave. Only I was too tired to do the second part of the mantra last night.”

We were introduced to Adam at the end of episode one and we get to see a little bit more of him in episode two. For me I really like Adam and I know who I want to see him with so I usually send messages to Kandi begging for the HEA I so desperately need.
The end of this episode you get to catch a little of Asheli and let me tell you my senses were heightened with her evading all the questions her sister has asked her. Asheli is hiding something and I am worried that is gonna we one hell of a shocker!

“There are way too many secrets floating around PSU right now, and I’m determined to start uncovering them” Good luck to you Skyler Thorne and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next episode!

In episode two things start to heat up and become juicier as well, this episode only being in the POVs of Jess Skyler and Bear. We start with Jess who finds out something terrifying in her Wednesday night class and I'm sure if you think about it you may be able to figure out what I mean.

Skyler decides she wants Cassie to be her Little and reminisces back to when she knew she wanted Erin as her big. You also learn more about Skyler and how she is on the fast track to becoming well known in the poker world. Although Bear mentioned it in Episode one she explains why she plays a little more. This also causes her to miss the first Omega Chi Beta social, her sisters don't exactly understand why she plays but once you read it, you will.

Bears little is an asshole. You learn so much more of what he is capable of in season two, unfortunately or fortunately for you, I can't share that. No spoilers from this little one. Despite the fact that they received a noise violation he still insists on throwing the first unofficial social of the semester, a stop light theme. Sounds pretty cool to me.

Meanwhile, Jess learns that her little doesn't want to take a little because while she was a little, she never learned what it felt like to have a big because Jess was too busy being close to her big Stacy.

Circling back to Skyler she starts to be a big to her little, helping her learn more about the college life and growing pains. She really is a great pick for anyone, it makes me want to know her in real life. She also explains the nicknames everyone in their close group has, mostly fitting to everyone of them.

As the episode wraps up, Omega Chi Beta learns how much trouble these noise violations are getting them into. Too many of them or too many warnings from nationals and alumni and they could be suspended, that should be enough to make them cool it, but like I said Bears big is an asshole..

Things are definitely starting to get a little bit crazy up in PSU. Episode 2 picks up with the beginning of the school year and this time around we get to see a bit more of Jess, Skyler, and Bear. I already knew I had a soft spot for Skyler from BLACK NUMBER FOUR, and it was kind of weird to head back in time to see who she was before her own book. I liked seeing how each different chapter and character was so unique to who they are.

Jess is full of drama and I am very excited to see where things go from here. It will be interesting to see if she takes things too far or if she will finally find a little bit of love in the chaos that is college. Bear is a man walking with the weight of the world on his shoulders and it is interesting to see how he copes. You feel his frustration with the world he is tied to by blood and the one has chosen in college. He is a mature man but also a college boy. I loved that dichotomy and I am anxious to see what happens when it all becomes too much. It was weird reading about Skyler in this story, knowing what happens to her in the future. It was almost like the prequel to her journey of self-discovery. She is learning to balance so much and embrace who she is, with or without the support of those around her. It was interesting to see the young woman who is learning her limitations in the poker world and the care free girl in the sorority.

This story is heating up to be something you will not want to miss. It is like reading the TV show and seeing things come to life on the pages of each episode. I love how there are multiple story lines and how they continue to grow and intersect. I have a feeling this first season has some surprises in store. Tuesdays never held so much appeal! Cannot wait to see what happens in episode 3 and what drama unfolds!

This is the second installment in the serial Palm South University and things are heating up quickly!! Much like the first this episode was quick, edgy, and awesome. It was a little heavier in the feelings department because of course we are digging deeper into our characters with each installment. I am really digging these books ... its kind of like 30 minute guilty pleasure, dirty soap opera reading and I can't get enough!!

Eskimo Sisters ... Stoplight parties ... ABC parties ... Sound Violations ... Hot Boys ... and so much more!!!

I am so loving the bartender Jarrett and I'm loving even more that he's not just a bartender but a Graduate Assistant and Jess will be seeing quiet a bit of him!! Not quiet in the way she wants but ... she will be seeing him!! Oh Jess ... girl what have you gotten yourself into ?!?!

“I had so many scenarios imaged already. The shower, the bed, a public dressing room, his kitchen…Sighing, I take one last pull of the wine before passing it to Skyler. Oh well, no use dwelling on it now. He’s off limits. Right?”

I am also thrilled that Adam made an appearance again ... I don't know what it is about him but I like him!

I love that Skyler has noticed there are alot of secrets floating around and she has made it her mission to uncover them. I'm with you Skyler, lets uncover what everyones hiding!!!

“There are way too many secrets floating around PSU right now, and I’m determined to start uncovering them. It’s time to hone in on my friends and reveal their truths.”

Episode Three here I come !!!

Now we are on the second episode of South Palm University. I thought the first episode was ok. It didn’t knock me off my socks are anything. With this being a novella series, the first one was more of a get to know the players. Now with then second we are getting to know them a little better. With that I did enjoy this episode more than the first. But I would still have to rate at 3 stars.

This episode really focuses on Skyler, the junior at South Palm and sorority sister who is caring her own weight through college. To pay her way, she has hit the poker circuit and winning it big to cover tuition. She is struggling with being the big sister in the sorority house and being there for her friends. One of the being Bear, the fraternity brother who also has his own struggles. They are like brother and sister and are there for each other when things get rough. But Bear has his own struggles. He is supporting his family back home and is constantly having to wire money home. And then there is Jess, the incoming freshman that is new to the greek life.

Things are starting to heat up that’s for sure!! Skyler has a love interest that makes life at school very interesting!! I am excited to see where that story line goes!! Poor Bear just seems to be the one his family leans on and I feel sorry for him. I’m sure the stress of school and his family will be something that will unfold in upcoming episodes.

Even though I felt this one was still a three star and I am excited about the next episodes. Things are starting to unfold and I’m curious where the next episode takes us!

Holy crap!! Okay so expect another "all over the place review" because I am being pulled so many directions I am not sure who to root for and who to hate...sort of *wink*

In episode one I had mentioned Jess being a train wreck and that I wanted to like her but just didn't know if I could. Well I'm still in limbo. Not sure I'm liking the whole "you'll do, let's bang" attitude. I do however think I have found a guy to swoon over and that would be hottie bar tender/professor GA Jarrett. Yum!!! As much as I want to like Bear (aka Clinton) he just isn't my type and something rubs me the wrong way with him. He seems to have a kind heart but I can't place my finger on what irks me about him. Not yet anyways.

Where the last episode was mainly focused on Cassie and Bear this one we read more of Jess and Skyler. Jess just keeps digging a hole it seems, while Skyler was starting to grow on me. At least till the end. I'm pretty sure dancing with your Littles crush is a low blow in my opinion. Maybe it was innocent but I didn't get that impression.

Along with more character development we get a sense of what Greek life can be when it comes to parties, socials, the bonds of Big & Littles, balancing it all and just how stressful it can be.

OMGee these episodes are such a guilty pleasure and I can't get enough!!

4.25 *WINK* READ

4 out of 5 stars

I was so happy to see the table of contents in this book with chapters from Bear's perspective. I missed hearing from Cassie in this episode because other than Sky, she's my favorite KKB girl! Seeing her here and there with Sky was good, but I hope Kandi brings her back in more detail in the next episodes.

BUT back to Bear and his life. I know that his story is so much deeper than anyone ever realized and I just hope he won't hold it in much longer because it's going to destroy him and his friendships. I did fall even more in love with him though when he called home and talked with his little brother. His love for him shows thru so much in that call and I totally believe he'll do more than anyone expects to make sure his brother and nephews are well cared for.

This story is best summed up in this thought from Skylar and I can't wait to see what she does to uncover these truths that she seeks:

There are way too many secrets floating around PSU right now, and I'm determined to start uncovering them. It's time to hone in on my friends and reveal their truths.

This episode was better than the first and I'm sure the next will be better than that even!

So I flew through episodes 1&2 and now I had to stop , my blog calendar is busy so this season is on hold , which is driving me crazy !! I feel like Skylar is about to do some undercover work and figure out what the heck is going on with 2 of her friends. Bear and Lei seem to be having issues or hiding something and I have a feeling it may be good stuff !! So on top of the fun and sweaty college sexy we have some unknown secrets or struggles coming up. I look forward to more and really love the multiple POV's. With the episodes being so short it is hard to review and not spoil !! I also feel right now we are still getting the basis for season 1 so a lot of build up of what's to come. It really does feel like a TV show , each week you get the little snack always wondering when something big will happen but never knowing when or what it will be !! Hungry for more and hooked until the next episode !!

***I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are 100% my own.***

We’re back with the gang. In this episode we find out more about the bartender that Jess dealt with in the last episode. And Jess is hawt for teacher. We also got more into Bear’s family and past. Bear has more issues going on than just his family, though, his whole fraternity might get canned. Cassie becomes Skylar’s Little and Skylar likes to have a good time, playing poker is part of that, but no one but Bear understands. We also get to know her better from her POV.

So, will Jess get over her teacher? Will Skylar ever truly fit in with her Sisters? Will Bear’s frat be around in the next week or so and will he get his mom and brother straightened out? Tune in next week for Episode 3 and find out!

You had me at “Eskimo Sisters”! (I was absolutely dying laughing at this part!) The PSU Series is like fluffy, mind-candy, reality TV in book form. I accept it for what it is and I LOVE it all the way! I’m absolutely all-in when it comes to the Palm South University series! I am loving reading these short little episodes that follow the lives and drama of the PSU crew. There are parts that remind me of my college days, only with palm trees, an ocean and a lot more steam!

An ARC was received in exchange for an honest review. This book received a 3.5 rating on the BFF Book Blog. BFF Book Blog uses an additional set of icon ratings. This book received additional ratings for: supporting characters and world creation....so it's not really a new "world" but I'm getting a true sense for PSU as a culture! <3

Palm South University Season One Episode Two by Kandi Steiner picks up right where the reader left off with this unlikely group of college friends. All linked together in one way or another, their intertwined lives make for an interesting read. If you enjoy serial reads and like books surrounding the college scene then this is the story for you.

It's syllabus week at Palm South, a week lacking school work and the beginning of parties. But it seems that each one of these characters comes face to face with something or someone they didn't expect which will make an easy week all that much harder.

My review is short, since as a serial, these are shorter books and I definitely dont want to give anything away because you need to experience the drama, lies and deceit unfolding as you turn each page.

Well its official, I am totally loving this series. The first episode had all of the perfect serial elements and hooked you just enough to want more. Now that we are into episode two, I am totally a goner. You get to dive a little deeper into the main characters and you can start to see some of the drama that may unfold. Plus some of the secondary characters are getting a little more interesting and I definitely have some theories on what my happen. The characters are believable and realistic and the story line is something you can imagine happening at any college. There is enough drama to keep it interesting but not too much where it seems overdone. The writing style keeps you interested and the story moves at a fast pace. I am definitely looking forward to more.

I have a feeling I am going to love this series! In Episode Two of this fast paced read gets a little juicer! Bear's hiding what's going on with him to his friends, Jess's story comes to life, we get to see Skylar and Cassie get closer and so much more!

PSU University and all the students we've met so far are hilarious, and this story is captivating. I look forward to the next few weeks when each serial releases so I can keep up with these amazing characters. I am definitely interested in what happens with Ashleigh and what she's keeping secret, as well as how things go with Bear and his frat. I have a feeling this story is going to get a lot more steamier and crazy. I am loving these characters and the story lines so far.

I Was Gifted A Copy By The Author
(Possible Spoilers)

Just like the tag line says, Drama. Lies. Sex. We get all that and more from these memorable characters.

They all have really captured my attention. And each little look into their life, their world, makes me want more and more. We get to see everyone form episode one and more.

Plus the POV of Skyler, who I love. She's wild, and feisty. I love her go after what I want attitude and her friendship with Bear.

The traditions and the friendships inside the sorority is lots of fun to read. It's interesting to see so many different personalities come together and form such strong and lasting bonds.

With how much we have already got with just two episodes, I'm excited to see whats in store for the rest of the season.

This is episode two, you must read episode one first. We get the POVs of Jess, Skyler and Bear and this one.

Classes start and Jess is in for a surprise in one of her classes. Let me just say when I read who was in her class and what role they had I was just as surprised as Jess. Jess is definitely a wild child.

Skyler to me seems to be the most ground one of the group but I'm not sure if she really is or not. Skyler knows Ashlei and Bear are keeping secret and so are a few others are too. Skyler is out to uncover what they are keeping. I can't wait to keep reading this serial to find out what happens next.

Classes have started. Jess is shocked to see her one night stand Jarrett in front of the class as the GA. Can she hide from him. Doubtful

Skylar really wants Cassie as her little but is afraid she might pick someone else.

Bear and Skylar are getting back on track after the blow up they had.

Asheli still won't come clean about her secret.

Wonderful episode. You find yourself getting wrapped up in all the characters lives. Let the parting continue. I received and arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Continuing with the “weekly episodes”, we are definitely feeling like we’re sitting in front of the TV watching a show. Episode 1 introduced us to many of the characters in this series and appeared to be more about Cassie… here, we are given more about every character and some new ones are introduced. The two characters that seem to be keeping more secrets than the others are Bear and Ashlei…I think I have an idea about hers, but Bear is a mystery. The multiple POVs continue to add to the story and make it more engaging.
