With three little words, William Wilkerson’s soul is changed forever. But it comes with a cost. Born and raised to one day rule the nation, he finds his new nature at odds with the corrupted ways his family has lived for generations. As a voice as soft as the wind beckons him to follow, he struggles with several decisions. Shall he follow this voice, or should he continue on the path his father has laid out for him? And, if he does follow this voice, will it protect him from his father’s fury and give him the courage to stand up against all injustices, including his own? But the real question he must answer what should he do about the girl trapped in his controlling grasp?
Wow, just wow again. This is a must read series the first book lays the groundwork so it’s A more dark Christian book that still does not cross the line. I am in all of this author. I highly recommend this series, but make sure you read them in order.
I like Christian romances. At a recent Church Conference, we were reminded of what we shouldn't be reading. Feeling guilty, I began to remove too-explicit romances from my Kindle collection. But I have downloaded about 40,000 books , and after a while, I decided I would just have to remove them as soon came to them. I began to read Christian romances, but too many of them are watered down milk.
This book was not watered down. It shows the reader the result of parental abuse spouse abuse. It shows why the crimes of the fathers are visited upon the children for generations --not as a punishment from the Lord visited on the innocent, but as the inevitable result, until someone stands up and says that stops here and now. We see that happen. But that doesn't mean everything is all better at once. We watch as things get better and worse and better. . .
Loved this series. I'm on the 3rd book and planning on finishing the series. I've found a new author to read! Will be looking into reading more of her books.
Very well written, very heart-breaking, powerful story. The other reviews have covered it well. The only other thing I would add is that I could easily see this series used in connection with a Bible study on the apostle Paul or in in counseling. Not as in “this is so much worse than, and they did forgive,” but that God is the only source of strength and the only power that can enable us to forgive. I immediately purchased the next book in the series.
