Very interesting history of the European reformation. Because of the brevity of the writing, ther is often not an explanation of all the terminology, but it's fascinating to learn that the reformation was far bigger and longer than just Luther and Calvin. Sadly, it was also much bloodier than we are generally led to believe. After all the wars and executions because the church and rulers were so intertwined, it's easy to understand why the American founding fathers wanted to try a different way with a separation of church and state.

A good basic reference piece and the only atlas that I am aware of on the subject. I gave it a 4/5 because on more than one occasion when I was reading in the text about a place of historical importance the site was not on the accompanying map. I was able to work around it, but it became annoying after a bit.

I found the book very interesting. The major issue with this book is that maps do not always show the name of the cities / coutries stated in the text. It makes it hard to follow.

Great summaries of historical events and I like having the maps to go with them. I was honestly a little disappointed with the detail on the maps.

Good summary of the various reformations and blood shed. For me, maps make a book so enjoyed the tour around Europe and the world. As has been said previously, not all maps lined up with the text particularly well and the text was very brief in places.
