Well, that was just as much of a riveting ending as I remembered.
There's another review that calls this the equivalent of a popcorn flick, and I would agree. It's light, breezy, doesn't take itself too seriously, and is filled with more thrills and twists and nonsensical whims as the best b-movies, with just enough terror and excitement to keep you flipping pages but not enough to make you have nightmares or sleep uneasy.
If there were a literary equivalent to a "popcorn flick" it would be these books. Chock full of thrills, chills, and romantic frills, there is simply no time for silly things like depth and unique concepts. Definitely entertaining while it lasted.
