This is book two in the Price Brother series, featuring Lucas Price and Charli Miller. I have read the first book, but this can be read as a standalone without any problems.
I really enjoyed this book! Lucas is a workaholic, sweet, caring man. He is a lawyer and has worked at his current firm for a long time. He likes the money and his lifestyle but can't really stand his job. He hires Charli to investigate for a client of his and the attraction is immediate. She comes off as a black cat FMC but is really young (23) and a little sheltered in the bedroom. There are some spicy lessons between them. He's a golden retriever MMC with a dirty mouth. LOL
I really liked their banter together. There is an age gap of ten years between them and the two of them joke about it together. There are also some fun moments with his brothers, Nico and Alexander.

Charli and Lucas, the second Price brother, are complete opposites, but somehow, they just work!
He's a lawyer and an absolute sweetheart, while she's a data hacker and private investigator who prefers to keep to herself and isn't exactly the most social person in the room.
This isn't your usual trope, and the drama is pretty low, which I don't usually enjoy, but this book hits differently. I did wish for a little more character development, but overall, I still really enjoyed their dynamic and how they clicked despite being so different.
Bonus cookie point? The SPICE. 🥵 As always with this author, the scenes are HOT, HOT, HOT. The chemistry is there, the tension is there, and the spice is definitely spicing!
If you're not really into dark romance or morally grey characters but still want a romance that brings the HEAT without all the unnecessary drama, this is your sign to pick this one up!

After absolutely LOVING Love for Hire, I was so excited to dive into another Price brother's story. Nico and Scarlett were a tough act to follow, and unfortunately, while I enjoyed Love Decoded, it just didn't hit the same way for me.
I liked Lucas and Charli, and there was plenty to enjoy about their story, but I struggled to feel that deeper connection between them. I wanted to feel more invested in their relationship, the way I did with Nico and Scarlett, but that emotional spark just wasn't quite there for me.
That being said, it was still a good read, and I enjoyed getting to know another Price brother. I've read all of Nikki's backlist, and while this hasn't been my favourite, I have loved and devoured all of her other material. I'm definitely keen to see what comes next in the series.
A solid four-star read, even if it didn't steal my heart quite like the previous book! ❤️

I’m so used to Nikki Castle giving me a MMA man that lawyer, Lucas Price, threw me for a little loop.

Spicy lessons (not my fav trope)
I liked the depth of morals this book gets into. Especially in the lawyer aspect.
And our girl being more of a white hat hacker.
Little roommates situation.
Not technically boss/employee but he does hire her.
Little bit of excitement there at the end to round things off.

Love Decoded is full of Nikki Castle’s signature banter and spice. Lucas thinks he has it all, but he is completely burnt out. Charli, the ethical hacker he hires, challenges him, and I loved watching him start to question the life he built.
Lucas has quintessential romance hero vibes, from cooking to wearing slutty little glasses at home. Charli is a nomadic loner with a low social battery and not much experience with relationships. It was fun to see her slowly let him in. He also works for a company that stands for everything she is against, which gives them plenty to work through. Their email exchanges were a highlight for me.
Lucas’s bond with his brothers is one of my favorite things about this series. They call him out when he is not taking care of himself, and they show up when Charli needs help.
The case adds a little danger that keeps things moving, and things wrap up a little quickly, but the epilogues were a perfect glimpse into the future. I can’t wait to see what Nikki has in store for Alexander.

You ever read an author and you just know you’re going to read what ever they write? Nikki Castle is one of those authors for me. If it’s a Nikki Castle book, I’m going to devour it. And devour it I did. I read this in less than 48 hours because Charli and Lucas were addicting. The banter and the spicy lessons were just so good.
I cannot tell you how many times I laughed out loud because of Lucas and Charli’s emails and then their first encounter. Lucas making Charli’s jaw drop multiple times during said first encounter was literally the best. The woman had no idea what she walking into with Lucas. This man had all the charm and there was simply no way she was telling him no. I’m pretty sure Lucas would have dropped to his knees if he had to for Charli though (and boy, does he multiple times).
Lucas had me laughing and swooning due to the fact that he was constantly thinking about Charli after that first encounter. From wondering what she was going to wear to the office to what he could cook her for dinner, this man simply just paid attention and was on alert for all things Charli. Also, Nikki gave us slutty little glasses and him being so awkward around Charli in this one sooooooo Lucas was perfect in my eyes. Charli may have been 10 years younger than him but this woman kept him on his toes. Let me tell you, Lucas had no idea what Charli was going to say at any given time and she was bada$$. Her having a motorcycle and having him be her backpack, I was deceased.
The spicy lessons hit just right! We love a man who pays 👏 attention 👏. Also, him calling her baby girl, literally melting. The tension build up was perfect and that first kiss hit just right. Lucas Price has such a dirty mouth in this. I blushing right along with Charli every time this man opened his mouth to tell Charli what he wanted to do with her.

Love Decoded was a delightful little kick-your-feet, giggle-at-the-banter, appreciate-the-filthy-mouth kind of read. 😂
Lucas. LUCAS. Funny, confident, competent, and blessedly free of macho overdone-ness. A filthy mouth paired with a sturdy, dependable personality? Yes, please. His work sometimes required him to play a role that didn't quite align with his own values, but I never got the impression that he'd lost sight of who he was, so that was refreshing. He was just a genuinely likable MMC from start to finish.
And Charli! I really enjoyed her, too. She's likable, realistic, and makes choices informed by her past without letting that past become her entire personality. One of my favorite things about this book was that she didn't need to outshine Lucas for their dynamic to work. She holds her own without stealing the show, and I mean that as a compliment to BOTH of them. Their relationship felt balanced in a way I really appreciated.
Compared to the first book in the series, this one felt lighter and breezier, and honestly? I liked the change of pace. It still had the banter, the spice, and the romance, but without quite the same emotional weight. Sometimes I want to be emotionally devastated by a romance, and sometimes I just want to kick my feet and have a good time. This one delivered on the latter.
The pacing was great, nothing felt unnecessarily dragged out, the banter was fun, and the spice showed up when it needed to. The plot was a little predictable in places, but in that enjoyable, I'm happy to be along for this ride kind of way.
Overall, a fun, spicy, easy-to-devour romance with a seriously likable MMC. I think you could read this one on its own, but I'd absolutely recommend reading the series. And after this? I'm even more excited for the third brother. 👀

Nikki never fails to deliver a book that is packed to perfection with banter, tension, sweet romance, and the dirtiest talking MMCs! Lucas and Charli were everything and I fell in love with them both from the very beginning! I was a sucker for them both and are easily in the top 3 of my favorite couples written by Nikki!
Nikki always writes FMCs that have plenty of sass, are independent, have overcome some challenges, and are just plain quick witted and intelligent as hell, and that is exactly what Charli was. Not only was she a bada** biker chick, but was a genius at hacking, as well as just having an array of skills up her sleeves. She was smart and could think of something on the fly to get her out of a tough situation, but also had such a wit about her that had me cracking up at all the jokes she through Lucas's way. She was willing to bust his balls from the first encounter and i loved that about her 🤣
Speaking of Lucas, damn, the mouth he had on him 🥵 Nikki's MMCs always delivers the dirtiest, flithiest lines and Lucas definitely had a mouth on him! I mean, come on, the man gave her all kinds of spicy lessons to increase her experience! And, we love a man who can get on his knees for his lady, willingly and eagerly 🧎♀️ Charli was the only one who could see beneath the mask Lucas put on for the world and actually pushed him to reach his true potential, and i loved how willingly he was to uproot everything when he knew what and who he wanted. Lucas is the embodiment of a Golden Retriever boyfriend and I just loved how gentle he was the whole time. Not only that, but their romance just blossomed so naturally for me and i loved how they bonded so easily.

This book was so good and more than worth the wait! I love what Nikki Castle writes, but this is hands down my favorite and leaps above her other books (and they're all amazing!). I loved, loved, LOVED this more than I can say. It made me so happy because it was cute and wonderful in so many ways.
I am a huge fan of a book where the guy takes care of her BUT she isn't some delicate, fragile flower, and this was definitely that. Charli was fierce, badass, independent, and smart, and I loved her as a white hat hacker. Lucas was surprising because yes, he's a corporate lawyer with a reputation, but he turns out to be so much more than that! He's sweet, caring, and thoughtful. A closet nice guy, hehe.
I loved their dynamic and how perfectly they fit together. Lucas took care of Charli but also recognized her need to be herself and take care of herself too and much she valued that. He never tried to dim her or make her feel like she was less than him. That is what I love to see! And the elevator scene was PERFECT. Exactly what I would have wanted them to do. I also loved Milton the cat!
This book had great banter, spice, and a couple I couldn't help but just adore so very much. Just all around SO GOOD. I am already looking forward to Alexander's book because I need the final Price brother's story ASAP!

I’m a big Nikki Castle fan so always excited for a new release from her!
Book 1 in this series- Love for Hire- was absolutely fantastic so I was looking forward to going back to the Price brothers.
Love Decoded is book 2 in the series and could easily be read as a stand alone, but you’d really be missing out if you didn’t read Love for Hire!
Love Decoded is lawyer Lucas and hacker Charli’s story. When Charli’s evidence is used in a case against Lucas that he ends up loosing, he knows he needs to get her on board to help him with his next due diligence case, but she has no interest working for a big law firm with questionable ethics and clientele.
Their initial email banter was great, and I enjoyed the flirty friendship that soon developed between them, as well as how Charli helped Lucas realise he wasn’t happy selling his soul to a job that didn’t always align with his own morals.
This one didn’t hit quite as strong as book 1 for me, I couldn’t put my finger on it but I just didn’t warm to the characters in quite the same way or feel their chemistry as much. I did enjoy seeing the 3 brothers together again- their bond is lovely.

Love all things Nikki Castle, and Love Decoded was no exception! I loved the banter, the age gap, the spicy times. The whole thing!
Lucas hires Charli to do a little PI work for a case he is working on. He couldn’t anticipate falling for a woman 10 years younger than him. Charli is instantly attracted to Lucas, but she’s a strong independent type who isn’t going to be swayed by his charms.

Move over, Tristan. Lucas Price has taken the top spot for favorite Nikki Castle MMC.
Love Decoded is such a fun departure from Nikki’s MMA world, while still having the addictive writing I’ve come to expect from her. I cruise through Nikki’s books, and this one was no different. A hint of workplace romance, an age gap that doesn’t need to feel like a whole thing, and an MMC who notices the little things about the woman he’s obsessed but also has a filthy mouth. While Nico may still hold the title of Walking Green Flag book boyfriend, Lucas is carrying plenty of green flags of his own.
The plot is good, but this story is so character driven that sometimes the plot took me by surprise when it showed back up in the forefront (complimentary!!!).

Gosh another perfect book by one of my favorite authors! Nikki never misses and I’m so blessed to be on her ARC team!! This has everything I love in contemporary romance! Black cat FMC x golden retriever MMC, spicyyy teach me lessons from a man with a surprisingly filthy mouth, banter, well fleshed out characters that experience growth, healing from past trauma, fast paced plot & adult communication. I did not want to put this down from the moment I picked it up & devoured it in 24 hours which is rare for me with eye reads lately! Definitely always recommend Nikki’s books and this one is no exception! Can be read as a standalone but is the second in The Price Brothers series! 🤍

I was so excited to get to read about the Price Brothers again, and although I really enjoyed the story, Lucas was such a golden retriever, such a sweetheart, so light and fun and Charlie just came with a lot of trauma, but I wouldn’t even classify her as a black cat, she was just a little bit of a loner. I really love them together and I love their story. A couple of the issues is that I don’t really think the third act breakup was necessary, it kind of annoyed me actually and made me see their age difference. It was a super fluffy Read for me nothing too in depth nothing that really moved me but still super enjoyable read. I also have realized I really despise the nickname, baby girl.

A delicious slowburn with tension that makes you flip the pages well past your bedtime to see when they’re finally going to give in! The tropes in this book were right up my alley. I do wish we had just a little more from Lucas, but maybe that’s just because I love a guy with a big emotional story like Roman in Revive Me. 😂 I think Charli’s job was such a fun world to explore and definitely added to some of the excitement towards the end. 🤭

I absolutely adored these two and their journey to forever. Black Cat x Golden Retriever perfection and watching them fall in love was so much fun. They were freaking hot too and I swoooooooned over how Lucas treated her in the bedroom. Charli was all but a V and her ex/first was terrible. Getting to see Lucas help her realize how amazing it could be was just the best.
We get a touch of suspense in the third act as the investigation comes to a head and it had me holding my breath for a hot minute. Definitely didn't see that one coming lol
Up next is Alexander and I am so dang excited.

Lucas Price is such a golden retriever of a man! Don’t let that fool you though. This man has a FILTHY mouth and he is pierced. Yes he sure is. He also wears his slutty little glasses when he works at home. Charli Miller is all black cat energy with a secret soft side. She is just what Lucas needed! I loved these two together! The email banter had me laughing and kicking my feet. Then the spicy lessons…..are you kidding me! Insert Lucas and that dirty mouth and I was a puddle on the floor.

I didn’t feel the chemistry between them and didn’t get her issues with his job, the law firm didn’t appear that ruthless. I didn’t like that when the brothers were mentioned he was dismissive to them every time. Charli came across as having a superiority complex.
The chemistry, the couple, the plot, were just a bit flat. I finished the book and it was ok, but I wouldn’t read again like I would with most of Nikki’s other books.

A new Nikki Castle book is always a good day and this new series has me so curious I couldn't wait to dive in.
We meet Lucas a bit in the previous book and I just knew this golden retriever would make such a swoony hero and he did not disappoint. Abd Charli was so fun and grumpy, they dynamic between them was everything.

A good time! Lucas and Charli were fun with a roommate situation and spicy lessons. An unexpected twist at the end! I wanted a little more slow burn, but overall no complaints!
