Amusing from a certain point of view. The fun will surely fade away if you are in the position to need a book like that. And if you do, go search further away.
If you don't need this book, than you might find it mildly amusing. You don't need a coding job because you need the money, Abraham will tell you about how we're all surrounded by software in out daily lives?!?
And to get a coding job you might need lots of pages on HTML, which Abraham seems to get a bit. But only a few pages on mobile programming, which probably are less relevant as they are out of his league.
Good for people curious about starting a career in coding if you don’t know anything about coding. Skipped chapters 15-17&19 about getting a job in coding after you are proficient at coding.
This book is called "Getting a Coding Job," but it is so much more. In addition to explaining various career paths and how to prepare for them, it also is an excellent overview of the software industry and the state of technology today, as well as explaining the programming languages currently in use and where they are best applied. I have been out of the world of coding for many years, but I feel like this book brought me back up to speed in record time.
A good book if you have no idea about coding and want to get an overview. I suspect a more modern version than I read (from library 2015 edition) would be of more help but it gave me what I was looking for.
