Never Quit the Fight

Rate this book
In the no-holds-barred tradition that has won him so many fans across the nation and around the world, best-selling author and strategist Ralph Peters confronts the crucial security issues of our time and the troubled times to come. With his trademark clarity and force, Peters argues that we have left behind the age of Ideologies to enter a violent period in which ethnicity and religion blood and faith will continue to be the source of ferocious rebellions, genocide and global terrorism. His compelling vision spares neither our foreign policy nor our domestic follies as the author ruthlessly outlines what it will take to protect our country against this new breed of enemies.

I picked this up randomly and was very surprised by Peters' insights. I sell to the SIGINT market and his thinking is very clear-headed. We need more out of the box thinkers and folks who comprehend religious faith in our intelligence analysis ranks. While much of the book gets mired in particulars of the Iraq war (since that's when most of these articles appeared), the concepts he espouses are counter to our love of technology to solve problems and the desire to fight wars as though our troops are municipal police officers.

If you want fresh ideas and a good sense of humor, Peters is a fine choice.

Never Quit The Fight by Ralph Peters, is about the stats of war and it is about how if we don’t do what is needed then we will lose the battles we part take in.
Peters has written many books such as;
Cain at Gettysburg, Hell or Richmond, The Damned of Petersburg, The War After Armageddon, Valley of the Shadow, Red Army, The War of 2020, as well as 41 other books.
“Ralph Peters has guts and integrity . . . our wisest analyst.” - Jack Kelly, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“No one cuts through the strategic fog of outdated or unfounded military ideas better than Peters . . . absorbing and thought-provoking.” - F. G. Hoffman, Marine Corps Gazette
These critics are saying that Peters takes what is not wanted to be said and says it anyways because it is needed to be heard.
Peters wrote this book in 2006
The time plays a significant factor on the way this book was constructed by the many events that took place shortly before the book was written, there where experiences from Peters himself in war, with his experience in seventy countries on six continents as a U.S. Army intelligence officer.
This book is about the things that are going on in the military, ranging from language to battlefront tactics, as well as a separate battle of fighting against social media and making the U.S. look like the bad guys.
Therefore, they’ve made social media accounts on practically everything to try and get ahead of the manipulated truths that come during and after the wars.
The tone that is set for this book are aggrieved, critical, as well as indigent.
The author takes the angle of wanting change, he thinks that there are many things that are not only wrong with the U.S. Army but the world and how if someone of the wrong mind set beats the U.S. to making a certain weapon the U.S. is out of luck. The perspective of Peters comes off to be that the U.S. is not living up to the high standards we have set for ourselves.

The book is fun to read if you are interested in learning about the wars and how things are not up to the best they should be for a country that is known as a great force to reckon with/strong military force that is hard to defeat.
Overall the way the book was written was very nicely and executed the point he wanted to get across. He was VERY passionate about this topic, which in the end made it a firmly written, and fairly well in it's demeanor to make the reader think differently about the way the military is ran.
Having a brother in the military and another going into it, they are constantly talking about how times have changed from early on to now, but they also continue to talk about how they could be a stronger force.
I would recommend this book, yes, however I would not recommend it to everyone. I think the people that should read this book are the people who are interested/passionate in learning about the military and its functionality.
This book has a small audience due to only interesting the people who are willing to learn about the stats of war(s).
