Wohoo I've been waiting for this book! Brand is better than Bind; Connor's book and Ms. Cartwright succeed deliver the BDSM wrapped in romance (or the opposite). It seems all the Donovans has alpha male streak? and *cough* BDSM lifestyle behind it. Well, well... who doesn't want a gentleman who has kink in the bedroom? :p
Cade Donovan is a 'bastard' or illegitimate son in Donovan family. Her mother isn't married to his father. Things are complicated since his father's death. Cade pulled himself off from the family and everyone's worried. When he came for Connor and Lara's wedding, he find himself attract to a certain woman. Sofia McBride is hard-working woman who own an EO business and life by her rules. She never think about romantic stuff or... sex. When Cade came with a proposition (related to her job, of course), she knew that he's a dangerous man for her heart.
Their sweet escape was really intense. There are so much things that Sofia learn from Cade esp. his BDSM lifestyle. Cade is a demanding Dom and quite hardcore (not as 'polite' as Connor). Sofia learns fast about everything that related to her erotic journey with Cade. I really liked how Cade explain about BDSM to Sofia patiently; from basic to the next level. When it comes to bedroom, Sofia is in Cade's rules. Their sexual attraction feels so real. The intensity, the chemistry, and trust between them which make it all worked. Outside bedroom, Cade is really a private person. He never open his feeling to Sofia and it frustrated her. Sofia opens everything about her. She want Cade but she couldn't enter inside him except he open the door for her.
I liked how Ms. Cartwright bring the story. From business partner to love couple. It was well-written, safe and detailed. I enjoyed the flow until the end. But, there is some issue that hold me to give 5 stars. I loved their romantic BDSM journey, but it's quite disappointing that I couldn't see Sofia's hard-work for the Donovan's event. And the ending seems a bit rushed. The time skip was somehow annoyed me because I wanna know more about their feeling towards each other outside their kinky lifestyle. Overall, Brand is an enjoyable read and nothing to be scared off with the BDSM scenes. An intoxicating story with beautiful and erotic journey. I would love to recommend this :D
Save a horse, ride a cowboy lovers, this is the book for you. Cade Donovan is an alpha male who knows what he wants. When Sofia McBride is hired to organize an important party for his family business, he sets out to make her his submissive.
Cade is a man's man. He is not metrosexual. He is sort of a throwback to when men do not talk about their feelings and when they were decisive. Cade is a straightforward man who knows how to woo a woman. This is not to say he is simplistic. He does have a few childhood hurts which makes him the way he is today. It also estranges him from his family, thinking they do not want him. His relationship with Sofia is what opens his eyes and helps him reconcile with his family and untangle his misconceptions.
The pursuit and capture theme with Cade stalking skittish Sofia is delicious. The chemistry between Cade and Sofia is hot and a bit chaotic. Sofia's well organized and structured life is turned upside down. Cade's life starts to look not as bleak. The two together bring out the good parts in each other which makes this a feel good book. The secondary characters give this book a nice sense of family, loyalty and fidelity.
The kink in this book is light for BDSM readers. It is erotic with a bit of domination and submission. There are a few more graphic scenes which are delectable. The romance is sweet. The characters are endearing. Merging the personal and business lives together makes this a rich story with layers instead of an easy kinky hook up tale. Sofia and Cade's relationship constraints are realistic and relatable. This erotic romance is recommended to kinky readers who love their cowboys.
I've come to the conclusion that Sierra Cartwright is a witch. A witch who uses her talents as a writer to wield spellbinding stories. Stories so captivating that even those who may not have ever found the subject matter she writes about appealing in the past, will find it very difficult to put her books down.
I should know, I am one of those people.
Her heroes are hardcore Dominants and her heroines submit beautifully to them. I myself have never been able to wrap my head around such worlds so I stay away from stories such as these. Because I know I won't enjoy them. But Sierra had me from page one! I was intrigued and captivated and quite frankly, turned on throughout the entire book!
I cannot ask this enough ..... Where has Sierra Cartwright been all my life?
I am completely IN LOVE with CADE DONOVAN! That sexy cowboy can tie me up whenever he pleases! Sierra Cartwright gives us another sensual, passionate, and erotic romance in her fantastic DONOVAN DYNASTY series. I can never get enough of this author. Her writing is so addicting. Her characters are sexy and strong, and her storylines touch the heart. What more can you possibly ask for in this genre?
Cade and Sofia. Two very different characters that compliment each other so well. There is instant chemistry and smoldering heat between the two. One sassy event planner. One tortured gorgeous cowboy. Boom! You got yourself a unputdownable erotic romance!
The initial interaction between Cade and Sofia was HOT! They meet at another Donovan wedding. There is dancing and there is a dark corner where anything could happen. They part ways after just a taste and immediately they want more. Cade is in desperate need of Sofia's services, event planning that is, and he will do just about anything to make that happen. They both have their demands for each other and the witty banter that ensues is so enjoyable to read.
Beautiful Sofia brings out the sexy dominant nature in Cade. He wants her to surrender, but she is inexperienced and unsure. One stormy night, the connection strengthens and Sofia gives in to her desires. Now, Cade wants so much more than a simple distraction. She brings light to his darkness. She chases away his demons. Sofia thinks being with Cade is too much of a risk, personally and professionally. But with touch after touch of his hands and his dominance, he consumes her and chases away her doubt. Now, whatever happens, it was definitely worth the risk.
I was completely invested in Sofia and Cade's happily ever after. I cheered them on the whole way through. I was left satisfied and bursting with giddiness by the last page. This series has become a favorite of mine, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Cade Donovan is the illegitimate son in the Donovan family. His mother never married his father. After his father's death, Cade feels guilt and has sequestered himself away from his family on the Running Wind Ranch he runs. They have tried everything to make him see that he deserves to be part of their family-to no avail. When he attends the wedding of his brother Connor, he finds himself instantly drawn to Sofia McBride, the party coordinator. Sofia is a strong, hard working woman whose party planning business is the largest in southern Texas. Her work is her focus so she doesn't do romance or even sex, much. When Cade makes his intentions clear, she knows she could be riding a slippery slope!
Cade is a rough and tumble Texas man. Gorgeous and strong, but harboring some demons he can't get rid of. He knows what he wants though, and goes after it. Bringing Sofia to the ranch to plan an 100 year ranch gala, he gets to know her. He likes what he sees!
Their attraction is off the charts. Sofia learns about Cade being a dominant and she is intrigued. Her best friend Lara-Connor's new wife, has told her bits and pieces about her relationship, and she has done a bit of homework. Cade sets out to show Sofia what BDSM is to him as it can-in his words-"be a hundred different things to a hundred different people". I really liked that Cade was patient with Sofia, and explained his view of BDSM and what it means to him. You can feel their chemistry. The seduction and intensity is strong. Trust is paramount but Cade struggles with that once outside the bedroom. Sofia has opened up about her past, but Cade just can seem to do that.
Sofia feels she has given Cade what he wants and she expects the same in return. He's cracked open the door for her somewhat, and has told her things he's never told anyone, but he is still holding back. They both quickly knew their hearts were on the line and this relationship is life changing. It could be oh so good, or end disastrously.
I liked how the story evolved from the start. Cade and Sofia's love story was easy going and just clicked. Cade likened Sofia to the lightness his darkness was attracted to. Ms. Cartwright always gives us thorough details, beautifully written, so there are no questions about where her characters lie. I was actually bummed when I reached the ending as I wanted more!! I wanted to read more about their interactions outside the bedroom as well as in, and I wanted a glimpse of the party after all of Sofia's hard work! Maybe a short novella giving us a look-see would be in order???
Overall Brand is an extremely enjoyable and erotic journey. The BDSM scenes are light so do not let that scare you! I highly recommend Brand! Sierra Cartwright's writing is very addicting! Her heroes are strong, and her heroines are even stronger! Her stories are heartfelt and I certainly recommend reading all her books!
4.5 stars/4.5 flames
This book was gifted to me by the Jeep Diva for an honest review. The review and ratings are solely my opinions.
To miejsce, gdzie on miał „pokój”, do którego chodził z uległą? W stodole?
WOW! Brand may be my favorite of all of Sierra Cartwright's books.
I loved Cade and Sofia's story. They meet at Lara and Connor Donovan's wedding celebration. Sofia is an event planner and Cade Donovan is a cowboy who has a 100 year celebration to host, but didn't realize what he was getting himself into with this party.
The chemistry between these two is amazing and Cade Donovan is a Dom who know just how to push her. I could not put this book down and read it cover to cover. It is super hot and I can't wait to meet more of the Donovan Dynasty Series!
Having read this series all out of order, and each book in a different year, trust me a say they can all be read as stand alones!
This is Cade and Sofia's story. Cade is the illegitimate, oldest, heir to the Donovan dynasty, as it is, and he has problems with his self-worth. None of his siblings, or family, make him feel this way but he wears his mantle no matter what anyone says. He also has deep feelings of guilt, but that is an integral part of the story line, so you have to read to get those details. Needless to say, Sofia knocks him out of his nicely constructed, and deeply entrenched, brooding ways, and he doesn't know how to handle the situation. Of course, that means, he handles it rather poorly, but his family helps him, whether he wants it or not
Sofia is settled in her world. No ups or downs, logical and steadfast, with a deep love of her family, and wanting to be a part of their lives. When she meets Cade, all that is shaken, and she isn't sure what to do about it. The more time she spends with him, the more she acts on her instincts, and follows her feelings for him. Unlike anything she has ever experienced, Cade is deeply seated in her heart before show realizes. Trouble is, what matters to her in life, he shuns, and she can't settle for less after coming so far
This book is super hot, and yet, it could have been super intense, it is deep, not brooding or melancholy. I loved these two characters, they were fun and sexy, and their chemistry was so strong. They really are a perfect couple!
Another superlative BDSM novel by Sierra Cartwright. I love this series! As with the first book in the series, the details of the BDSM lifestyle are well-researched and extremely accurate. The characters and storyline draw the reader in and make this an easy read. However, that is not to say that this is not an engaging or predictable book. As with my review of Bind (the first book in this series), I think Sierra Cartwright is among my top three BDSM erotic romance authors (with the other two being Cherise Sinclair and Lexi Blake).
My only complaint about this book is one that I have with a lot of Kindle/e-books and that is that the proofreading is not great. There were several spelling and grammar errors in the book. I think I tend to notice these more because I was an English major and have taught for a portion of my career. However, I have read hundreds, if not a couple thousand, of Kindle/e-books over the past decade and, unfortunately, this seems to be the norm for the e-book industry. I am not sure why this is true but it seems that e-books are not proofread to the same degree as print books. However, that is my only problem with this book.
If you are a fan of erotic romance, particularly with a BDSM theme, then I would highly recommend this book. Once again, kudos to Sierra Cartwright for a job well done!
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for a Wicked Reads~~
This is the second in the trilogy and not only is it as good as the first, but it hits different chords. The themes of family, BDSM basics and the dynamics of a new relationship undoubtedly feature, but this time we have the hidden illegitimate son, Cade as the centre of the story. We still meet the extended family, but his acceptance of how he grew up is an essential part of the story. Sofia is the perfect foil to him, and her bravery is amazing. I loved Loopy the dog, and her antics, and changing loyalties too. It is most definitely a hot read, and an novel way of introducing the lifestyle, which worked well I think. It was a touch precipitous for me at the end, but lovely, nonetheless.
Overall, this was an excellent read, which had me up till 4am to finish it! Thanks again Ms Cartwright for a super story.
I really liked Cade, "he couldn’t help but grin at that. “Are you calling me a man****e?” Cade really isn't a patient man, "eff him three ways from Sunday. He wanted her. Hard. Fast. Beneath him. Kneeling for him. And he wanted it now, not several days from now." There are times Sofia gets surprised where her man is concerned, "she eased the denim from him, then the boxer briefs. “Damn,” she said. His ***k was erect, throbbing. “It’s… You’re well-endowed.” Cade is cautious to make sure nothing of his woman's disappear: She peeled off her panties, and said, “My undies don’t go in your pocket.” “I’d hate for them to get lost,” he replied, ignoring her words and her scowl. I enjoyed this book, Case was sexy and alpha, Sofia was sassy, and strong.
I really enjoyed this book. Although it has BDSM aspect to it, there is so much else that goes on between the couple. I loved the way they handle exploring different scenes and emotions. It was a very different plot and take on BDSM.
I will say that there were quite a few words that aren't commonly used in book and that to me took away from the book and the flow. It's not that I didn't know the meaning of the words, but that I thought there were other words that would've flowed better than say 'discombobulated' (which was used at least twice in the book).
All in all another great installation of this series and I can't wait for more!
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
The characters in this book act like adults, which is refreshing. Plus the BDSM scenes are well done, absorbing and seriously hot, lol. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is sometimes the detail of Sofia’s event planning business gets a little too much, particularly in the beginning, but stick with it. Cade is a Dom to die for and the way Sofia responds to him pulled me in and kept me up past bedtime!
Holy crap!!!!! Brand is a super awesome book. Cade is the perfect amount of dominant and Sofia is not the typical inexperienced submissive. I love it when the author throws in pets to a book. Yes it's a romance book, but adding all the extra elements that everyday life has makes it an extra special book.
Just when I thought I found my favourite character by Sierra Cartwright here comes Cade a sexy down to earth dominate cowboy. The back in forth banter between Cade and Sofia was so funny and also very Steamy. I can't wait for the next book in this series!
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Overdrive
Cade was one of the Donovan brothers as a step brother as his father never married his mother. Cade stayed on the ranch that they owned and would seldom come around family functions. But, he did go to his brother Connor's wedding. Sofia was the wedding coordinator for Connor and Lara's wedding. Sofia meets Cade and she was taken in by him.
Cade's sister was talking to him about the centennial celebration and the ranch. She spoke with Sofia and then she told Cade about Sofias Event planning. Since they needed everything within a 5 month period his sister told I'm that she could pull a rabbit out of a hat with all her connection. She told him she could give him the proposal once she saw the ranch.
Cade couldn't help but watch her as they walked around. Things progress and as they are looking at the barn Sofia goes upstairs and see a tarp and decides to looking around it. Much to her surprise she sees a whole lot of whips, cuffs and more. When Cade tells her that he is a Dominant and he wanted to see if she would submit to him.
Sofia could not see herself submitting. But, again at the same time the thought thrilled her to find out about it since her friend Lara told her about Connor. Cade slowing teaches her about submission meanwhile she is growing more attached to Cade. She knew he would never open up to her and she wanted more than he could give so she left.
Will Cade comes to his senses and go after her or does his own past stop him from going after her
'Brand' is Sierra Cartwright's second book in her "Donavon Dynasty" series. It's the story of Cade Donavon and Sophia McBride. Cade is the illegitimate step-brother to Connor and Nathan and unfortunately, feels he's not a true member of the family regardless of how often his brothers threaten to whoop his butt. When Cade finds out he's the one responsible for organizing and hosting the Donavon centennial celebration with a thousand guests he realizes it's way more than just burgers on the grill. Sophia is a friend of Lara's and she's the one who organized their reception gathering. With the electricity in the air from an instant attraction, that's where these two met and eventually shared a dance and a kiss. A meeting time and day are set for them to meet at the Running Wind ranch where we not only get introduced to Loopy, who incidentally steals the show, but while looking through the barn to see how it can be used, Sophia discovers Cade's BDSM dungeon area along with his equipment. Chemistry and attraction bring about an extremely honest conversation about the lifestyle and are so thoughtfully and thoroughly explained that a novice could understand. The characters themselves are engaging and the overall effect of Ms. Cartwright's story literally sucked me in and kept me enthralled. What more could anyone ask for?
Sierra Cartwright’s *Brand* is a thrilling exploration of raw desire and irresistible eroticism. The novel captivates readers from the first page, showcasing Cartwright's talent for crafting passionate scenes that keep you breathless. The story features complex characters whose personal struggles intertwine with an electrifying romance, filled with explosive chemistry and magnetic tension.
What distinguishes *Brand* is its bold embrace of eroticism, with expertly crafted scenes that evoke intense emotions and vivid sensual imagery. The exploration of themes such as trust, vulnerability, and the dynamics of dominance and submission enriches the characters' experiences, making their intimate connections deeply engaging.
Each chapter builds to moments of breathtaking intensity, with Cartwright’s poetic and visceral prose lingering in readers' minds. The pacing skillfully balances tension and release, ensuring high emotional stakes throughout. In conclusion, *Brand* is an unforgettable journey into erotic literature, offering a passionate and immersive experience that will ignite readers' fantasies.
Bleh. All three of these books are the same. Decent storyline, but the sex and chemistry between the lead characters was mechanical, clinical, detached and unemotional. The only reactions the females have is some kind of moaning, and even that is sparse. You get no emotional connection to any of the characters, and have no idea what they're feelings are towards each other until the end. Decent writing, but very unemotional.
For the price this was okay. Not earth shattering or deep, but okay. More of a fairytale than realistic. Not really 50 Shades. I think that had more depth; but it was not bad. Just not deep. Very predictable.
this is the second book in the trilogy which I didn't know when I started to read it but luck for me each book revolves around a different Donavan brother ..... I found it quite an easy read and will read the other two in the future
This story is light, fun , HEA with a side dish of BDSM. This story shows how every relationship, in the lifestyle , is different. The characters, and storylines developed nicely. Refreshing! Sierra Cartwright didn't disappoint.
Another great book by Sierra Cartwright. Realistic BDSM scenes, a great story to go with it and of course an HEA. This is the second in a series but there is no need to read the first book (although I recommend that book, too!) So glad I found this author!
No nie, nie, nie. Sam seks. No way!
