“Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Do you want to change your career? Start a business? Stop losing sleep over a deadline? End your relationship? Or maybe, just live a fulfilling life? Everyone has goals and ambitions in life. But sometimes we do not pursue our dreams because we are afraid to fail or lose face. Instead of pursuing our dreams, we constantly worry about what we "should have" done or said, and this causes stress and anxiety. Moreover, that is the voice of fear, speaking to you.
We see other successful people, who achieved their goals, and think, "how do they do it?" This book uncovers the fearless mindset you need to be successful. The truth is that fear makes us negative and timid. Research shows that almost 2/3 of our thoughts are negative. No wonder that every time we want to pursue our desires, fear holds us back.
Achieve what you want from life: all it takes is action
Fear is triggered when our safety is in danger. It is a tool to avoid physical harm and death from enemies. Now, fear itself is our biggest enemy. We have to defeat the enemy within that knocks down our dreams. For instance, when you live in constant distress because you hate your job; your mood, dreams and above all, your health is impacted. Stress has severe consequences for our body and can lead to depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, and burn-out.
7 Steps To Freedom That You Can Apply Immediately

Knowing why people fail to reach their goals, and others succeed
Darius Foroux (pronounced as Da-reeus Fo-roo) is the author of 7 books, and the creator of 6 online courses.
He writes about productivity, business, and wealth building. His ideas and work have been featured in TIME, NBC, Fast Company, Inc., Observer, and many more publications. Until now, more than 30 million people have read his articles.
The book is easy and simple to follow. I liked the first half more, the second half got confusing at times. A chapter felt repetitive and similar to Ekhart Tolle's writing. The book is more like a compilation of many ideas. A good one if you need some motivation to just read. Otherwise a great job.
I feel that some of the points in the book are quite insightful about life. Something that I connected with was that life isn't happy because of something that you can buy. But it is because of constant improvement. And the improvement can only come as long as you're putting effort into it.
I don't agree with many other points because IMO they're not implementable unless you are enlightened. For example, don't give in to the thoughts on judgement, fear etc. In my experience thoughts are like a train going at full speed and you're a human in front of it. You can try your best to stop it. But it's got a very powerful momentum and it won't budge. But you can control the tracks to some extent and divert your focus elsewhere. Then the train will start running in a different direction and later return back to its original one. So what this book recommends isn't possible practically I feel.
However, based on my own learnings in life (outside of what this book talks about) I would say if you want to make a change in your thoughts you need to sit down, pick up a belief and debate with yourself on that. Only by convincing yourself that way X is better than way Y your thought train will start changing course naturally. But debates take a lot of time to sit down and its easier to do it with a person. Given that finding someone to sit down with you and discuss about a particular topic is a luxury, you're better off writing on a paper for a companion.
If someone is reading too many self help books and want to learn something new, he or she would be disappointed. Having said that, it is a good mixture of all those books. So, if someone doesn't have the energy to read all those best selling books, he or she can learn most of the concepts from this book.
Started out O.K. and seemed to be an outstanding read, but then it started to get “preachy” and contradicting. First claims money isn’t everything but then it says you can’t live successfully without it; says that some people will stab you in the back at work, but one should not to take it personal? Really? Again, some nice things here, but certainly not a roadmap to a better you.
Excellent writing. To the point. Brief chapters. Easy to understand, relate and implement. Amazing content from his blogs and great book recommendations in different segments.
The book is written in simple understandable English providing simple steps to take on daily basis to over fear which is a common battle we face these days. Fear of all sorts of things like losing a job, loving someone, trying to change our mindset. What I liked about this book is that it gives you straight answers to do things, as things which are worth do not come easily and handy. Nothing written in this book is surprising or unknown but when you read it you feel you can overcome your inner battles in a step by step method. A recommendation for anyone who feels indecisive or less confident and fearful these days and during these unstable times.
Darious I want to tell you something you had changed my life expeditiously. Before reading your book do it today in April 2020 I had read only two books in 2019. After reading your book I had read almost more than 20 books. So thank-you for changing my life. One more thing I had started journling my routine.
This book is another addition to your great work. I find similarity between both the books .There are new articles in this book. To my surprise I find your writing style changed. You are bold and candid now. I like this style. I love this work also 😊
The more books I read r om Darius, I always feel that he has put his enormous reading knowledge into the book and I'm reading not a single nook but a blend of multiple books at once. I feel like gulping down a comprehensive knowledge all the time. When I look at few topics, they feel like shouldn't be in this book or irrelevant but ae I go on reading it, it totally makes sense and this is what I love about Darius who knows how to connect the dots. A great read!!
Truly fantastic in every sense of the word. It is for the first time that I have come across the issues I have been facing in my life getting talked about and solutions being suggested then and there in the book. As if I am being mentored in one to one setting level and as if I have got all my dilemmas sorted as I read along. I read many self help books earlier, however it is the first time I feel like having read a book in the actual sense. Thanks Darius Foroux for having met my expectations unexpectedly. Thanks again
Great book for an inquisitive reader who is a newbie to work life.
The book is divided into small pieces of chapters which can be read very easily. Very helpful for people who have just passed out of college and are into jobs and getting a deeper look at various social interactions and obligations. Reminded me that 'fear is the cause of all ills that happened and will happen around', wise words said by Krishna...
The author does not give sermons. He provides interesting anectodes and logic to reinforce the thought that one must really live a purposel and happy life. Very interesting to reading in one go and feel very positive about ways to change oneself
My friends and my sister who shares my beliefs and tastes. My children will be provided a synopsis of the interesting portions from the book.
My mind usually repels books on self development as they tend to be too unrealistic and theoretical. But this one is more like a compilation of all the wisdom from several books and how it's set in small chapters makes it much more easier to read and motivates you to actually pick it up over doing simpler things like watching a TV series. Very relevant book for current times..
I loved some of the quotes, which author took as an example. Apart from the book I didn't liked the book since it has more negative thoughts than positive thoughts. More solutions are towards financial goals which is not the purpose of life. Read completely to know what author is trying to tell which I couldn't get it. May be I need more time to understand
Author shares his own life experience about his life. It's a very neat ideas that every one can implement in their own life's to fight their inner battles. The enemy is nowhere around us, it's within ourselves, in our thinking. Our brain is master of our body...
Another good book from the author which highlights how a person can get the most from their life by employing small tweaks in the thought process & modifications in lifestyle. Lot of the suggestions are based on experience gained by the author in personal life & knowledge gained from renowned authors.
A very average book. Initial few pages cover something positive on the subject. Later the author deviates from the main title of the book and keeps on telling or referring some books which are totally unrelated to winning the inner battles. Overall, the book won't contribute much to enrich your knowledge or skill.
I was feeling like author knows me and doing a therapy for me.
All the points are to-do's which you can apply in day to day life easily. Love it. If it is education, office any life, Any kind of stress , ur emotional health, Your work, Everything is sorted out.
A very nice and concise book about the various things you can do to win your inner battles. Darius gives various examples that you can easily relate-to and apply in your daily life.
I definitely took away some tips and for sure, will skim through this book again to note down important points.
It helps everyone to come out off there fears and make urself an idle person to deal with in urself and self helpful book .. thanks for the book Darius
The book is not just for the ones in despair. It can be a quick reminder to get your life back on track or bring back that discipline and how. States some interesting worth remembering quotes.
Because of the simple language a many lines in this books was like written for/on me. "If you will say no to what you dont like doing, soon you will start hating that man whom you were trying to please......
Quite simple to understand and to the point Things that we miss in life thinking them unimportant or overthink unnecessarily, procrastinate, give up easily, fear failure , waste time is what I value after reading it in simple terms.
It is a book full of strategy you could implement right now. The most important message is to act now. Setting goal, having a system is good but meaningless without execution. This book makes you want to act.
Big thanks to Darious Foroux for this amazing work. Reading this book is like a journey of self and in the process we realise the focus of our life. Sometimes its good to take a pause and read a good book to know more about our selves.
It's a great book for one who really don't know what's going on in his life and what he need to make it correct. I would recommend this book for your motivation and to know the reality. Thanks Darius.
I am definitely sure that if you are a negative thinker then you must read this book because it will make you a positive thinker and yeah it will help you to fight your inner battles about yourself i.e.you can't do this etc.
