I so loved Alpha Mine, I couldn’t wait to read the second book. This series is wonderful and so sinfully sexy, you won’t want to miss a single one!
I’ve always loved, and of course believed in, the idea of soul mates, and the author’s concept of “heartmates” is similar, with the exception that, if lost, a vampire will most likely go insane. We saw this in the very first book, and it continues to be a very serious point in each book. The sweet love story fulfilled my every romantic whim, and the steamy hot sex scenes (there are plenty!) with the studly Alpha, are engaging. There’s also a realistic villain, which the author brings to life with a skillful vividness, to add plenty of suspense and danger. Fantastic read!

Deadly Alpha is the great second book in the Alpha Council Chronicles series. The character development is spot on - these are not two-dimensional characters, you will think and feel right along with them as you read. The action is great and keeps the plot moving, but it does not overshadow the romance between Marcus and Christina.
Like a previous reviewer mentioned, I love Brenda's take on the soul-mate concept. Watching the range of emotions the vampires go through when they discover their heartmates but the feelings are not reciprocated right away makes it seem that much more real and poignant.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the remainder of the series!
