I should be shot for reading this. More so, I should be shot for finishing.
This was a free download. Surprise.
First, one of my most rapidly growing pet peeves are writers who spell Tiger as Tyger, and worse, Bright as Bryght.
Second, the writing was terrible, though there were surprisingly few typos and editing misses as are often found in these books. Bravo to the editor.
The characters were one dimensional, the writing stilted, and the reason above all else as to why I am rating 1 star instead of 2 stars is that the writer had a good idea with the eco-terrorists but she dropped the idea, let it peter out completely, with no resolution. The book is supposed to be part of a series but this aspect of the story was not used to any type of potential. Skip this one. Learn from my mistakes and obsessive nature. Not everything is worth finishing, let alone beginning.

Growing up completely immersed in sci-fi/fantasy books, I get a certain thrill when I get to read adult sci-fi. Sexy, sexy adult sci-fi. Yum. Spaceships! Shapeshifters! Sex! All in one compact package. Life doesn't get any better than this.
Here I got a shapeshifting tiger/man, a wide-eyed female who ends up giving as good as she gets, an eco-terrorism subplot that elevated the story from just sci-fi erotica to something with a little depth, a couple of perverted voyeurs, and ... umm, sex in a navigation room. Seriously? It's everything I was looking for before I knew I was looking for it. How awesome is that??

Short, sweet and hot… that pretty much sums up Tyger, Tyger, Burning Bryght.
Tryon needs Calla and she’s more than happy to help, but what Tryon doesn’t know is that they have a history.
Although Tyger, Tyger, Burning Bryght was a bit heavy on the smexiness level, there’s a lot more to the story than just a Tyger shifter in heat. There was a mystery to be solved, lives were in danger and even the bad guys had no idea whose side they were on.
Her Commander is the next book in the series and even though I’m late jumping into this series, I plan on playing catch-up… eventually. 😉

Okay another cover that's wrong! The female Calla is supposed to have blonde curly hair.
Calla is on a spaceship with Tryon when he goes into his mating cycle. Don't ask me why they would have a shifter on board who is about to mate, because it makes no sense to me. Calla volunteers to help him through it (wink, wink). She starts to care for him, he wants to keep her on the side until he finds his mate. She's not having it.
The book is okay, not super hot to me but okay. There's a saboteur on board, but that isn't very suspenseful. This isn't a horrible story, some of the writing is good. It's just not the best I've read. This won't stop me from trying the author again because there was more good than mediocre.

I have the original edition of this story and got the new revised Kindle edition that adds an additional 40+ pages. I really like this revised edition and I'm raising my original 3 star rating to 4 stars. It's one of those books with which I can't really find anything wrong.
As a reader though, I would have wanted to read about what Calla went through and thought after she separated from Tryon Jag, before they are reunited. It would have helped the book a little and I would have probably rated it 5 stars.

Inexperienced h, much older manho-alpha-entitled-jerk H, cliche conflict(H asks h to be his mistress, she is hurt and walks away,H gets it near the end and chases her for a HEA)- all things I hate
Very good world building, amazingly sensual sex scenes- those were the things I loved

I really enjoyed the storyline between Tyron and Calla. Their drastic need for each other scorched the pages scene after scene. To be fair, I'm not a fan of sci-fi space voyage stories. I could've done without all the other sci-fi type characters in this book and especially the story of eco-terrorists. However someone who does like the sci-fi aspect would enjoy this book more than I did. It was very well written and even though it was very steamy, it wasn't all sex.

The beginning is so awkward that I have to take away one star. Once the story gets going, it's pretty good, with lots of hormone induced sex. The main plot and marginal side stories are fairly simple, but they hold everything together.
I will probably read the next book, as series like this often improve quickly.

I couldn't decide between four or five stars, so 4.5.
I've read this several times, I'm not sure how many times even. Shapeshifter stories are a definite favorite of mine, and this one is closer to the top of that very long list.
Great sexy read. I love the characters and world she built. The male, Jag, can come across as an "alley-bred bastard," to quote Calla, but I blame it on his shift and the pull of the moons. I'm thinking that's some serious hormones going on... But, I don't know, I just like him. He comes out good in the end, I think.
I decided to re-read it this time, because I had recommended it to a friend. Now, I am wondering why I never read more in the series... I will have to now. I don't think the other books were out yet, maybe, when I first read this one.

I don't usually leave less than 3 star reviews. This one deserves it tho. It reads like the script of a cringey sci-fi porn flick from the early 90's. The dialogue is terrible. The names for all the things are eye roll inducing. The sex is decently written, but even that can't save this one. I thought I didn't have a lot of standards when it came to romance or erotica, but clearly I do and this fails to meet it. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because it was thankfully quite short, if I'd had to read any more of it I'd have taken another star for wasting my precious life. This is the second book I've read by this author, but it will be the last.

I really did enjoy this very different sci fi, shifter mix up.
This is related to the Lodestar series in so much as some of the things are happening at consequential times and this story takes place on Logan Starks flagship Orion.
Jag and Calla are known to each other through a very embarrassing incident.
There is a lot of sex in this book but it is all part of how this story needs to be told and is part of a hereditary moon phase part of being a Tyger.
I have owned read and reviewed these books before but my reviews are missing. I have seen there is an updated and expanded book so it looks like I will have to buy it again to see what is added.

I read Tyger, Tyger Burning Bryght as few months ago and am only just getting a chance to write the review. As I recall, this was the first sci-fi, paranormal romance I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Ms. Cade does a fantastic job of creating a believable, futuristic world of alien species and technologies dreamed of. While there is a lot of language used, somehow it fit. I suppose I can attribute such raw acceptance to the fact that this is a science fiction novel. Within my mind, as far as science fiction goes, anything goes. You just have to be open-minded enough to be able to both accept it and recreate it in your head. But I am no strange to the realm of science fiction. In books yes, but not with television. My Dad raised me on Star Trek, so from a very young age I was exposed to all types of creatures. It is kind of funny to watch the original Star Trek series now when you see how far we have come with special effects. As I got older I watched shows like Stargate: SG1, Farscape, all of the Start Trek spin-offs, and many more. But I digress. I believe my point it that such an exposure has allowed me to broaden my mind when reading outside of the box.
Maybe I should get back to the book now. *coughs* Ahem. So Tryon is a Tyger and has been caught off world and mid voyage in the middle of his mating shift. Needless to say, he needs sex and lots of it – fast. The consequences could mean the deaths of many crew members should he be unable to satisfy the sexual need deep within. Calla is also a Tyger and took notice of Tryon when the voyage began, but when he looked right past her, her hope for a tryst faded and he instead became the object of her fantasies. Now she is the only hope for the crew and, well … Tryon’s only hope to regain control and ability to perform his duties.
I can honestly say that I really enjoyed the time spent reading this story. It was the first time I have read Ms. Cade and I will definitely be back to read more of her work. Perhaps even within this series, The Orion Series. From what I found on the publisher’s website, Tyger Tyger is the first book in the series with 5 books currently published. I wanted to share some other excerpts with everyone, but I am guest posting and thought I should try to keep it clean. I don’t mind saying that I had one heck of a time finding passages that were “clean”. This story is loaded with graphic sexual encounters, and dang! Let me tell you just how smokin’ hot they are! Good lawd!
That said, even with all of the sexually descriptive scenes, Ms. Cade manages to craft a workable storyline between them. I liked that Tryon is an alpha male that is unexpectedly paired with a strong female. Calla gives as good as she gets most of the time and inevitably, this dense alpha finally gets the clue that he likes it. Unaccustomed to females giving him attitude, Calla well and truly rocks his world. And in the midst of all of this is another component to the story. A group of terrorists has snuck on board and plans to sabotage the ship. The intruder is eventually left to Tryon to sift out. Meanwhile, Tryon makes a muck of his relationship with Calla. Seems crazy, right? A shifting male Tyger, his unplanned female mate with sass, a saboteur on board, the fate of many depending upon it all, crazy amounts of hawt sex, and a potential future relationship gone awry by the ever-present male without a clue. Yeah, I know. But it works and I was completely entertained by it. I mean if a shifting male Tyger and loads of awesomesauce sex don’t grab you, then I really have no idea what else I could dangle in front of you. It is not a deep story that is going to explore the inner angst of the main characters, but it is entertaining at the very least.

Hated it..... Wish I could have been paid to read it. Only then could have been time well spent.
I soo wished I could have been paid for read this "story/book" then at least my iMessage could have been worth while in some way :( I just don't get why any woman would want a story like this you know one where the female feels like a mindless piece of property or ussy to the male and his misogynistic selfish needs.. And why "ussy" not pussy ? Dear Lord, by the time this book ended it was everything I could do not literally Scream every time I saw the words "Tyger-pussy" aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!
Seriously that phrase was used ad nausea m mall the absurd cat related terms was called his "tyger-pussy" honestly supposed to be a compliment ? Or just nit be bothered to call her by her name ? I'm soo SICK of these books where no matter how much of a Salish , self absorbed, arrogant jerky prick the male lead is just thinking of his own wants and pleasures the female willingly submits to him whether she really want to or not but even thou he treats her like crap that's of coz he makes her panties damp or he would if he hadn't just cut them off her without her permission or care... By the end of the book I wanted a dollar for every thing I had to suppress a scream at the words "tyger-pussy" or submit and of course he NEVER had to submit to her even when she was in heat and it was legitimately her turn to be in control and he was NEVER just called her "tyger-cock" No! No males were degraded to n the telling of this story :( the sex scenes ( which was almost all this book was,with a lil pointless "Eco-terrorism" throw in to break things up a bit) were boring and redundant and the constant labeling of certain body parts boring and pointless and tedious ... In the space of just a few sentences we're told how he's touching or using her labia, her clitoris, her vagina and or her pussy, overly wordy and kinda clinical one sec and kinda tacky and tasteless the next, honestly for me less is more in these scenarios,you say he's sinking down in her sheath and unless you've given me reason to think he's going in the back door per say , I know what your talking about and it sounds a lot more cleaver and classy that the constant labeling and relabeling of the same body parts over and over especially when except for how he's constantly making her "submit" to his whims and or desires there's nothing all that interesting going on..l I held on out of pure strange curiosity hoping beyond hope the female Calla would grow Grow a back bone and done self esteem and she did barely for a while as she denied him for 3wks. Not much a story just a lot of feline based sex where female submits ,the male enjoys she feels a bit controlled and used and is rewarded with a permanent collar like any good submissive would.

Just when it appears that things are back under control, a violent group of eco-terrorists attack the Orion, destroying their navigation system. Forced to rely on only his instincts, can Jag pilot them all to safety, or will the Orion, and everyone on it, be eliminated?
Overall, it was a very fast, very hot little read. The basic plot line of a male driven insane by a yearly mating shift, and a vulnerable female volunteering to help him regain control is delicious, but the subplot of the eco-terrorists was poorly done in my opinion. The overuse of feline references (no that’s not a euphemism either) also pulled down my enjoyment level, and when one of my big pet peeves (forced nudity) was brought into the mix, I had no choice but to greatly drop my rating.
Recommended for fans of forced exhibitionism, of intense sexuality driven by instinct, and by arrogant males completely blindsided by a minuscule female. 2.5/5

What do you get when you mix sci-fi and romance? Well if you're Cathryn Cade you get a compelling mix of the best of both genre's.
In Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright we are introduced to the crew of the The Orion, the space ship version of a cruise ship. We meet some of the crew but this novel centers around the ships navigation officer Tyron Jag who goes through the mating shift while trying to navigate the new ship through an area of space that needs his expertise. We also meet Calla Fellura a novice crew member and the ships interpreter.
The heat between Ty and Calla is intense, this is a total panty wringer, it is also amazingly well written with characters that are funny as well as sexy and with a plot that keeps you turning the pages and reaching for the next book. The world that has been created and the species that are developed are both fun and imaginative.
While each novel is self contained it is best read in order so the sub plots in the novels are more understood.

Whoa. Ummm...steamy.
Jag is a Tygerian, part man, part tiger. He is the navigator for his ship and is responsible for getting them through the asteroid belt by his planet. One little problem, the closer he gets to his planet, the more he is effected by the mating cycle of his kind. He needs to mate NOW or...well, that wasn't really explained, but apparently bad things will happen. Rage? Goes feral? Something like that. *shrugs*
Calla is the interpreter on board and also a Tygerian. Her commander asks her if she would be willing to "take one for the team" as it were, and calm Jag down by mating with him. It doesn't hurt that she thinks he's hot, but I still can't quite believe she says yes.
What follows is a lot of er...mating.
And then Jag is stupid, Calla is hurt (emotionally) and a dense tyger has to figure out she's his forever-mate.

Futuristic romances and I have a love/hate relationship, with hatred dominating, and this book falls squarely on that side of things. While it was a (thankfully!) short and erotic read, there's very little plot to hold it together. It is that lack of plot which makes it difficult, if not impossible to connect with the characters in a meaningful way. The terrorism side plot is largely ineffective, and we get no real sense that there was really any danger in the first place. All in all, a largely unsatisfying read, and I won't be continuing with the series.

quick read. ok story if you can get it for free. not too much to the story beyond the contrived reason why the H and h need to be thrown together and have lots of sex.
as others have noted, substituting the Y for an I in 'tiger' and 'bright' is mildly annoying. the ship is flying thru the Cattarus system. and i don't know about you, but "tyger-pussy" is not a sexy pet name. it's just not.

I liked this. Yes, it’s short and yes it could be made longer and deeper (snicker) but for what it is, it’s great. Cathryn knows how to write hot and steamy and there’s a lot of it here.
She has fun with the whole ‘out of control mating’ trope and I thought she did pretty good with the characters considering the length of the piece. Having just read "Stark Pleasure” I’m enjoying the world she’s made.

This was really good. Its a space travel/romance. Someone is trying to sabotage the ship they are on and the captain is the only one who can navigate through the asteroid system when they succeed in the sabotage. Problem is, the captain is in his mating cycle, which came on suddenly, and needs a woman to mate with to get him through it so he can get back to his job. Great plot and passion between the captain and his mate. Recommend.

Although I'm not much of a sci-fy fan, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this story. It was pretty steamy which was hot and it also had it's funny moments which made me laugh. A bit of suspense balanced the novella off and the ending was satisfying. The only complaint I have is that it was too short.

I'm just not into men that like to belittle women and make them feel worthless. Especially not the strong, intelligent, independent women that allow themselves to be treated like a cheap, mass produced item.
And that's just me focusing on the actual story.
The flaws in this one, for me, ran deep.
But hey, I have read worse.
