I had a great experience diving into German history via its language. Despite the language's complexity, the book made the learning process both enjoyable and engaging. Would recommend as a great beginner book for German studies.

Pretty basic. Gives you phrases and fake conversations to get basic words with little tests at the end of each chapter. No real grammar information, but it's easy to build vocabulary with. It's ok to start with but don't rely on the book for "real" learning of Deutsch. It's a good stepping stone to move past this to the real books / school, etc. It comes with a (very) little dictionary of the vocabulary within the book, so that's cool, at least.

I found it useful, a good review if you're on your way to Europe. It keeps things moving. I've read it several times, sometime I even remember something.
