You know the old nursery rhyme/song "Hush little baby / don't say a word / momma's gonna buy you a mockingbird"? Well this is the construction vehicle remix. I thought it was a creative update and perfect for little ones who love diggers and dump trucks and all other vehicles! I enjoyed reading it with the familiarity of the old tune guiding me.

Sooo adorable! Love this construction truck themed version of "Hush, Little Baby" -- very creative and fun and fits the original tune well making it an excellent read-aloud. Alas, I'm not a fan of the illustrations at all otherwise this would be five stars for me. If you are tired of the standard construction truck picture books give this a try; I'm surprised it's not better known.

This is a simple little book to read at bedtime with a parent. It was about a father and son and how his dad will always be there for him. The illustrations are so cute of the story that is taking place. The book is very well organized. And the motivation that projects through this book is so awesome. Overall, I highly recommend.

Hush little digger dont say a word, Papa's gonna scoop you a pile of dirt.
And if that dirt starts to overflow, Papa's gonna find you a red backhoe.
And if that backhoe has a bad motor.....

D loved this book and so did I. I wish I had it to read to him as a baby.
My mom sang Hush Little Baby to my kids when they were babies and this would have been so cute for my boy to hear to. He is 4 now and loves it.

Okay, it's super cute, but the words don't fit into the melody very well at times AND I really wish there was a female character. Particularly because the song traditionally has a mama, it seems like changing it to papa, having a little boy, and then making all the things about trucks made me feel like this book was really really targeted at boys, despite how many toddler girls love cars, trucks, and trains.

This lucky boy has a father who provides a backhoe, a front-end loader, a dump truck, and six more heavy duty movers. Each episode fits the tune of "Hush Little Baby" perfectly. Libraries will want to have several copies. This would make a great gift for toddler boys or girls who love watching construction

A favorite in my home right now (two year old boy AND five year old girl.) Both of my children love this book. We all three sing along. They have it memorized. It's cute and simple. With many drawings of various construction equipment, little boys will be thrilled. As will little girls who haven't been told trucks are for boys and dolls are for girls.

A cute adaptation of the usual lullaby, with Daddy finding the son different digging machines. The rhythm was forced but the array of different machines was excellent (and the sandbox ending was fun). I think the depiction style for the humans dragged it down; otherwise I'd expect this to be a big favorite.

An adaption to the folk song hush little baby. The baby parts are all replaced with different kind of trucks and machines on wheels. It might be a little small for story time but it is nice and bright.

Whilst singing this book to my boys (written to the tune of "Hush little baby"), my husband told me I sounded like Doris Day. Honestly the sweetest thing I've heard. Channeling Doris Day = fantastic in my book.

A somewhat "masculine" take on the classic song "Hush, little baby". This is the second time we've gotten it from the library. My two year old daughter loves it, it makes me smile, and I think my husband secretly likes reading a book about backhoes and asphalt pavers. :)

We have so much material that is geared toward little girls and when its comes to this lullaby - this is a great boys' version. References to lots of trucks that turn out to be in his sandbox. Great for stirring the imagination.

A little long for the babies in my lap time. The preschoolers saw it and wanted to extend story time for me to read it and one little boy tried to walk out with it. I guess I should move this up to story time.

Fantastic "Hush little Baby" with construction equipment. Funky illustrations (look for the giraffe's eye) complete this. "Again" says the toddler.

Large machine aficionados will love this but I couldn't get past the lack of flow in the rhyming/song scheme. The rhymes were just too forced for me.

We checked this book out multiple times from the library, and then Nanny bought it for him for his 2nd birthday because he loved it so much.

My son likes this book. He's fascinated by heavy machinery and so naturally he's a fan of this book. Having me read it in an off key sing songy voice is a bonus for him.

A bedtime story for the truck obsessed child. Some of the rhymes feel a bit forced, but it was still a hit with my 2 year old test subject.

Little children and construction trucks - what could be better. Cute spin on an old favorite tune.
