Da Marie Cardinal havde udsendt romanen "Ord som forløser" blev hun bestormet med henvendelser fra kvinder, der mente, at hun havde skrevet netop om deres liv.
I løbet af få måneder holdt hun 26 offentlige møder og paneldiskussioner. Men det var umuligt for hende at bevare de tusindvis af breve hun modtog, og der blev derfor arrangeret en samtalerække mellem hende og en anden kendt kvindelig forfatter Annie Leclerc.
Hovedtemaerne i disse samtaler - som i bearbejdet form blev til "Med andre ord" - er: Kvinder og menstruation - Mænd og kvinders sprog - Seksualitet - Parforhold - Voldtægt - Moderrollen.

50 books32 followersCardinal was born in French Algeria and was the sister of the film director Pierre Cardinal. She received a degree in philosophy from the Sorbonne and in 1953 married the French playwright, actor, and director Jean-Pierre Ronfard. They had three children: Alice, Benedict and Benedict. From 1953 to 1960 she taught philosophy at schools in Salonica, Lisbon, Vienna and Montreal.
Cardinal published her first novel, Ecoutez la Mer (Listen to the Sea), in 1962. During the 1960s she published three more novels and was involved with films as well. In 1967 she had a role in Jean-Luc Godard's film, Deux Ou Trois Choses Que Je Sais D'elle and played the role of Mouchette's mother in Robert Bresson's film, Mouchette.
In 1972 Cardinal published La Cle Sur La Porte (The Key of the Door), followed by Les Mots Pour Le Dire (The Words to Say It) in 1975; these two novels were best sellers and established her reputation. Les Mots Pour Le Dire was the first book by Cardinal to be published in the United States.

🌒 "In altri termini" — Marie Cardinal
🌒 Questo è il terzo libro che leggo della Cardinal ed è ritenuto il seguito di "Le parole per dirlo".
🌒 Mentre in "le parole per dirlo" l'autrice si concentrava prevalentemente sul rapporto madre-figlia e i problemi che ne scaturiscono, qui ha preferito concentrarsi sulla sessualità femminile (e come viene vista dagli uomini), il sangue, la sottomissione femminile...
🌒 Il tutto viene raccontato come un dialogo. Un dialogo che avviene tra Marie Cardinal e Annie Leclerc (che scrive la postfazione del libro). E i temi che vengono affrontati sono temi che riguardano le donne e la possibilità di come raggiungere la libertà.
🌒 Ciò che mi ha lasciato sconcertata di questo libro è che è uscito in Italia nel 1981 ed è come se da allora non abbiamo fatto passi avanti.
🌒 in conclusione, mi sento di consigliare questo libro a chiunque sta a cuore la condizione femminile e vuole capire le battaglie che vengono portate avanti per essere riconosciute come esseri autonomi, senzienti e non in subordinazione al "puntello" di turno.
