I’ve been an avid writer and reader all of my life. I have a diverse background, and have found I’m happiest running my own business. I currently live in the Southern California area with my husband and our two cats.
I have a B.A. in Film Production and after graduation, headed down to Los Angeles to work in the film industry. While I love movies, I didn’t really like working in the film industry, and spend several years as a successful sales consultant, I also worked as a high school English teacher. (As I mentioned, I have a diverse background….)
About 6 years ago, I got involved in book dealing, and opened up my own business. Once I became self-employed, I’ve never looked back. I’ve been an Internet Marketer, Author, and Content publisher for over 4 years.
A beginner-friendly practical guide for starting and running an online business. There are step-by-step instructions and advice on various online income streams. For anyone looking into the possibilities of starting an online business and financial freedom, this book can be inspirational.
The author was kind enough to make this book permafree.
Unfortunately, I could not give this book a five-star rating because it was too short. It's possible that the author chose to make this a short book to help get her name out there, as well as help other people. Noble.
There are great resources to use and I zoomed right through the material. It was interesting, simple, and good.
Cool read if you're looking to get away from the traditional 9-5 and do your own thing. This book names several excellent ideas for doing exactly that. Great little read.
I work full time in retail, and have been selling digital products online for a few years now. I was curious about this book as I've been thinking about becoming a virtual assistant for authors, since I am also a book blogger. I thought this book would address becoming a virtual assistant, along with other ideas for making a little bit of extra cash in ways I hadn't thought of before.
On that, I was a little disappointed. The author, Harrop, does suggest a broad range of ideas for making money online, but actually left out quite a few things I already do (and have been doing for years) to make extra money online - "to leave the job behind" so to speak - like answering surveys, using rebate / coupon apps, etc. Definitely not "get rich quick" schemes, but the extra income does help.
What Harrop does talk about, she does well, though I was a little disappointed that on each individual topic, she just includes links to other websites instead of telling us the information herself. I don't mind a few links to expand upon the topic, but I feel when an author writes a paragraph or two introducing us to a subject and then leaves links to other writers, it's a co-op and lazy to boot.
I still am rating the book four stars however, because this is a great starting point, especially if you've never thought about trying to make extra income online, and she does mention some great resources that one may not have heard of before.

I received a book for free in order for my honest opinion. I was not paid for my review.
This was a quick read and it provided a lot of good information regarding working for yourself. I found a lot of value in the links, which helped to illustrate her points. The author does a good job in writing, I felt as though the book kept my attention and I didn't notice any errors.
Very practical recommendations, easy to follow steps.
Thanks for sharing this book and let us leave the office behind. Very useful information that makes the difference when you are choosing change your life.
Due to my blog this book seemed interesting to me. Maybe i could learn something from it. Although I know a lot from before I still got some new tips and tricks out of the book
