I am finally finished with this short series and I wasn't disappointed. It's very light and cute. After book three I thought the series was going to have more action and a bit of dark but it's not. All books are tame but it still made a good read. Tabby the best friend is getting her own series so I now understand why she was so involved in the books.
Mark is a freelance hitman, but he still works and has to answer to the Confederation as their go to guy, killer, errand boy. While handling one of his jobs he meets sweet innocent nurse Sophie. There is something about Sophie's kind demeanor that pulls at Mark and he can't help but want her. Unfortunately, he is not allowed to date the same woman more than two nights. His boss Sal, the head mob boss for the Confederation was betrayed by a family member because of a girlfriend. So this is one rule Sal will not budge on. He demands Mark kill Sophie or not only will she die but he will as well. This starts the series of Mark and Sophie sticking together and fighting not only for their lives but to take down all corrupt players out to end them.
Sophie was sweet and she was innocent, but she wasn't naive or a pushover. I loved that she was able to understand why Mark got into the business and her ambition to learn from him and help him to get out completely. A lot of things happen to Sophie and her best friend Tabby but no matter what Sophie was always a take charge, I'm not going to buckle under pressure person. Im glad because to me, nothing is worse than a weepy heroine that fall apart, is over the top, whinny and crazy insecure jealous. Sophie knew Mark loved her and never questioned it. She was also going to do anything to help Mark end this corrupted organization regardless of the consequences.
The books went fast, I do think that if it wasn't a small series broken up into five books, it could have been a kick ass novel with the added detail. Still I'm glad I gave it a go, I stood entertained throughout the duration. And would recommend it for anyone in the mood for a quick, light, cute read.

The ending was horrible!
I could think of a much better way to end this series! Just left the readers hanging. I was so disappointed.

Great Series
Having completed the entire series, I can honestly give it 5 stars. There was plenty of twists and turns to keep me returning for each new book. Although, as the series continued, Mark was no longer, Mr. Dark. He becomes a complex alpha male you learn to understand and love. I can't wait for the next series involving , Tabby. I my only criticism is the fact this was a series and not a novel. I would not have read it had the entire series not been complete.

"I love you so much," I groaned as my hips circled, while his hands massaged my hips.
"I'll be with you forever," Mark said. He lowered his lips to the curve of my neck, sucking and licking the secret spot that only he knew about. "I swear."
"I swear," I echoed.
I had finished the whole five books of Mark and Sophie. I had to say this couple were so freaking perfect, they were the death of me. This series was amazing as fk, and I couldn’t resist them at all.
As soon as I took the shot, I knew I had hit. Everything was exactly like Mark had taught me it would feel. There was no betraying quiver of muscle, or tightly held bit of breath. The rifle shot had actually surprised me, and in the moment I took to reacquire my target, I saw that I'd struck him in the throat. Sal Giordano was already down, crawling for safety and people were yelling. I pulled back and tossed the rifle on the bed, grabbing my Glock and headed for the door.
"Three," I whispered into the cacophony of the CD player music, opening the door and slipping into the hallway.
Sophie was progressing in such a high speed, what made me admire most is she never drag Mark down one time. She was hard working and rational and knowing what she really wanted. Mark was always couldn’t help being attracted by his beauty Sophie. So AM I.
She was quite the femme fatale compared to the medical student I'd fallen in love with while discussing Hans Zimmer music. Still, she was just as wonderful, and I was more in love with Sophie than ever.
This one was the ending of theirs story, Sophie and Mark did a great deal to those cities and destroyed everything shouldn’t be existed. They planned to retire this time.
"Oh God that feels good. I thought I was supposed to be rocking your world."
"You do with every touch, every kiss, and every time you say you love me," I replied, setting her left leg down on the mattress.
Sophie was pregnant and they are gonna have a baby. They were matches made in heaven and I was never tired of repeating how they’re freaking perfect for each other.
"You're amazing."
"I just love you," I said. "That's all."
Sophie snorted and looked at the ceiling. "That's all."
We lay there for another few moments before she turned on her side and kissed me. "And I love you with all my heart. And with all my body, too."
Sophie's eyes glimmered with a kittenish sparkle that I knew so well, and was so happy to see.
If you ask me what was perfect romance story, I could told you, perfect mates made each other better, and made each other see themselves inside. Just like Sophie and Mark. Just like them.
“You are mine," I growled, kissing her fiercely. "Forever."

They were such a great Soul mates. I could never forget their story, it must be on my favourite amazing as fk book lists.
"Forever," I said again into her ear, the emotional stimulation combining with the feelings tearing through our bodies. With a final thrust I felt Sophie start to come, and I gave in, giving one more thrust of my own before my own climax tore through me, and I gave myself to my wife, my soul mate.

I had mixed feelings but overall I loved the entire book series "Ahh!" I'm screaming internally.

All good things must come to an end, but I have to say that I am sorry to see this series go. Sophie and Mark are so good together that you just knew almost from the beginning that they would find their HEA. However, the most interesting part of the series was watching the changes to the characters' personalities and lifestyles as the story arc developed. In the end, each has evolved into someone who is so much more than you would have ever thought possible; yet, there is such emotional truth in how they are handled in the writing that you can see how these changes could organically occur. I have enjoyed my ride through this series, and I am glad that we get to revisit this world in Tabby's series.

Well, that wasn't the explosive ending I was expecting, but I'll forgive that seeing I love the main characters.
As Sophie and Mark continue 1 by 1 eliminating the Confederation, their lives become closer. Clearly in love and wanting a child everything that is planned must go spot on or risk losing everything including their lives.
Never fear, nothing can stop Rambo Mark and his hot as sin fiancé and assistant. One by one it all comes to an end but not without more questions from those close to him.
As Mr Dark ends, I'm a little excited to see a spin off series for Tabby. I grew to like her, just like Sophie. I hope she also gets her happily ever after. Definitely another to add to my TBR list.

There was plenty of action and love. I was entertained but something was missing, I think I would have liked a little more threat against Sophie. I would like to think the reason for the problems for me is that these were short story before a collection. The stories were a little choppy for me. Things moved a little slow for me. This is not my favorite from Lauren Landish, but I will read Ambition and Justice. Now for the positive I liked Sophie and Mark and opposites do attract. Once Sophie finds out about Mark's secret I felt her struggle of what to do now and what she will do for the man she loves. Mark's controlling nature and protective side toward Sophie is put to the test. Overall I was entertained. This is not for everyone has a dark side to it. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

This is the last installment in a brilliant box set. I feel so lucky I got to read all 5 books in exchange for my honest opinion.
The moment Mark and Sophie set eyes on each other you.the reader knew this was going to be a good read. The love and feelings that they had for one another would get them through anything that life threw at them.
In this final book all the planning and hard work Sophie and Mark have done are coming together.

I'm sad to see the end of Mr Dark series. I love Sophie and Mark, the love and devotion they have for each other. Sophie, Mark and Tabby work well together trying to clean up the city of corruption. Great read. Hope there will be a Tabby story.

I love this series and I loved mark and Sophie and I'm so happy to hear that Tabby is going to be getting her own spinoff can't wait to read it if you have not read this series it is a good read it short but its good

April 26, 2016the series started out alittle confusing trying to keep up with everything that was going on. The next thing you know you are sucked right into the plot with sophie, mark, and tabby. It kept me on my toes with everything that was taken place. Off to read about tabby's romance.
