COUGAR ROMANCE (Paranormal BBW Menage Romance)

Everyone has secrets, but some can change your life forever…

Diana Grant does not fawn over celebrities. She has always been a quiet, serious type of person. A budding anthropologist, she is interested in facts. Not romantic ideals. She finds it odd then that, ever since she saw a picture of Catahasa Yazzie, the young billionaire CEO of a property company in New Mexico, she’s felt herself inexplicably drawn to him.

She finds it even odder that, when she accepts a temporary position at his company's headquarters, he seems equally drawn to her. What Diana doesn’t know is that her new boss has a secret. A secret with roots that go back to an ancient civilization older, perhaps, than time itself.

When the fruits of this secret reveal themselves to Diana, will she be able to survive the encounter?

It's been a while since I last read a book involving shape-shifters & Native Americans and I don't know why, but I always find myself drawn to this tribe stories.

Talisman is a short first story in the Cougar Romance series and I must say, the storyline has got a lot of potential. We are introduced to Diana Grant who was hired as a temporary receptionist in the Yazzie Properties. She thought she was on her way to meeting the man himself, the enigma Catahassa Yazzie, but she was put out by the villainess assistant Amanda Hawkins for reasons unknown. It is on the latter part of the book where we discover what lies beneath Amanda and what future awaits Diana. How about Yazzie? Well, only one thing to find out..

And I can't wait to read what happens next. Paula Knight sure got my head wondering and yearning to know more about the feuding black and white cougar and the fierce mountain lion. This is surely going to be a great series!

Just okay

It took a while to really get into the story. Wished it hadn't ended to suddenly. Needed ,ore back story on the characters. Otherwise it was okay. If it hadn't been free, I don't think I would have purchased it.

Could be awesome but a little lacking

I finished the talisman last night and was excited at first because it had so much potential. But was let down after only three chapters were included in the book. There was no romance and there were holes in the plot, it's set up well to give you the answers later but if that's all of book one then it needs more, just more. I am making assumptions that the male lead is Mr. Yazzie, but the very brief encounter with him in the book was not enough to solidify my belief. Honestly , this has the makings of a very good series. One I would pick up on kindle or in store with no hesitation. But I feel like the third person writing style along with the brief book that it is somewhat deters me. There was more time in the book spent on unnecessary details than developing characters or story line. You couldn't really form an opinion about the female lead you did meet and enough time was spent with the peach that is Amanda that you automatically dislike her, although she could easily be turned into an awesome character!
Ultimately, 1. I could have liked the characters if the author had developed them more.
2. I could have gotten behind the storyline, but in 3 short chapters there was nothing to grab hold to
3. The book needs more. I am unopposed to cliffhangers, but you have to have a solid story behind it to give the correct effect.
4. Tell the author to write more into this story. Give it its full potential.

I hope I wasn't too harsh. I just wanted to be thorough and hopefully the author appreciates the honesty

Downloaded this book for free... With only 40 pages, if that, it wasn't a bad read. Some interesting concepts were explored such as:

“It’s supposed to mean that...some Zuni tribe members can...after intensive training...turn into cougars at will,” he answered, almost hesitantly.”

Excerpt From: Knight, Paula. “Cougar Romance: The Talisman: Secret Shades of the Alpha Blood Series (Paranormal BBW Menage Romance).” iBooks.

The title is awful... I liked the hint as mythology but didn't really find the cliffhanger necessary and would've preferred the story to be longer, you kind of just get thrown into the paranormal without getting her reaction or a greater understanding of what the mythology has to do with the paranormal or what she has to do with the karma or,al or why she's singled out, etc. too much information given without enough answers.

Another novel split up into three parts....I'm just not a fan of the format, so I won't be getting the second and third ones. Which is really too bad, because it's a great start! There's a bit of a different twist with some Native American elements and some anthropology references that my inner nerd went crazy for. Not sure how accurate they were, but I like when an author at least tries.

We have a no-name office temp, Diana, who has this strange obsession with her boss and finally get to meet him. But, or course, he isn't what she expects - I doubt he's even human, but we still aren't sure by the end of this little bit.

Good potential to make a great story, but something you will want to buy a bundle for instead of picking it up in 30 page segments.

In this first book in the Cougar Romance series we meet Diana Grant. When she arrives at Yazzie Properties where she's been hired as a temporary receptionist she expects to meet the owner, Catahassa Yazzie but instead sees his nasty assistant Amanda Hawkins.

In this unusual short story we see that things at Yazzie Properties are far from what they appear to be. We get a bit of insight into the Zuni tribe since Mr. Yazzie is a member. When Diana does meet Catahassa they find they have a common interest in anthropology as well as an interest in each other. To add to the unusual story, there is talk of cougar shifters too.

As for the characters in this story I liked Mr. Yazzie when he was with Diana. He was a nice person and interested in the same things she was. Since we didn't hear anything from him at any other time, I don't know if I liked him at other times. I hated Amanda which I think I was suppose to. She was so angry and possessive of Mr. Yazzie and her job that she was hard to like. Diana was so-so for me. There wasn't anything I liked or disliked about her.

Even though I didn't feel like there was a cliffhanger, the ending didn't leave me wanting to find out more. The feeling I had at the end was, "Huh?"

I got this story as bonus book with Billionaire Brothers 3 book set so the marketing was good to get readers started on the series but I wasn't hooked enough to buy the other two books.

Please remember that this is just my opinion and others may feel differently about this story. Since I don't care for serials (which this may not be but felt like it to me) or paranormal stories in general, this was just not to my liking.

Great start to the series. The book flowed nicely and set up a nice picture of a hostile work environment...lol Seriously! I wouldn't want to work for the Amanda character AT ALL. But Mr. Yassi, oh my stars, that man is an enigma and so alpha-male...he may have NEVER talked to some of the staff, but when he notices Diana...all bets are off. They share a common interest in the anthropology, and Mr. Yassi's office is full of artifacts from his Zuni tribal history. The conversation is easy between them and the chemistry is just starting its slow simmering...with the gift of a talisman, Diana may be in for more than she understands.

I can't wait for the next book, I certainly wished this one was longer and maybe a bit more in-depth...but all together a great super quick read that wets your palate for more! Glad I #oneclicked this cougar romance!

This is the first part of a serial involving cougar shifters and a myth that they are waiting for. Diana starts her new job and has to deal with a jumped-up bully of a supervisor, who seems to get away with a lot. She actually has a meeting with the reclusive top boss, and not only do they get on, but he gifts her with a necklace.

This was an intriguing start that I enjoyed. It is clear that there is more to come, which I am looking forward to. There is just not enough in this instalment, complete with the cliffhanger ending to give it more than three for now.

* I received this book from Kindled Romance Publishing in return for a fair and honest review. *

Diana starts a temp job for the reclusive Mr. Yazzie. It is just temporary so that she can save enough money to go back to school to finish her graduate studies in anthropology. Except Mr. yazzie isnt quite so reclusive with Diana, he seems to want get to know her. Cliffhanger ending in short novella serial. Good start to the story, but i will reserve my judgment to see how the story progresses. Enjoy!

What powers can a necklace hold?

Diana has started a new job as a temporary receptionist for Yazzie properties. Her immediate boss, Amanda, is a b***, and looks down at everyone with a sour expression. Strange things start to happen when she meets the owner of the business Mr. Yazzie, and he gives her a necklace. Hoping to read a continuation of the story soon.

Book was very short but I did enjoy the story hopefully in the next book has a little more romance. So far things are still a mystery between Cat and Diana. I want to understand the sister's story there's so much hostility there. Happy Reading!!

Diana's first day at her new temp job begins with meeting the sweet receptionist and then the office bully. She only agreed to the position in order to meet the boss. She gets her wish, but she may regret it. Great book, I enjoyed it.

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

Very much enjoyed reading the start to this series. The characters are interesting and the story line original. I have always loved anthropology and archeology and so this appealed to me in a special way. Excellent error free writing.

left hanging

Was left hanging at the end. I'm hoping this is not another series that could have been one book. I really like the story but was left hanging just as the good part.
