Enchantment: When Channie Belks moves from her home in the Ozark mountains to a suburban Colorado high school, she tries to hide the fact she's a mage. It might have worked until her parents slapped a chastity curse on her for flirting with "dirty-minded, non-magical, city-boys." She can't even walk by a hot guy without zapping him.
There's a way to break the curse; but one mistake could kill her. It's not worth the risk. Until she meets Josh…a BMX champion with a dazzling smile, washboard abs and the bluest eyes she’s ever seen.
Suddenly, the threat of death isn't such a deal-breaker.
Taken: In this second installment of The Channie Series, Josh and Channie are tested physically and emotionally as the tough choices they are forced to make affect not only their future together but their very existence. The risks are high but the rewards are even higher.
Finding Valor: Josh awakes with no recollection of the previous six months of his life, including his relationship with Channie. Will he be able to save Channie from her mother's dark magic before she is sacrificed?
Bonus Novellas: Love Hurts The Gathering
***WARNING*** The characters in this book swear. They also think about, talk about and sometimes engage in sexual behavior.
This book was deserving of five stars! It is best read back to back with no other books in between. Charlotte gives a unique outlook on mages. I read all 4 books and 2 short stories in 8 days. It was too good to put down. There are some predicable plots, but also some unexpected twists and turns. The author also graciously included her first book of Sanctuary series(I've already read that one previously) and a prelude to the Sanctuary series. Channie's Daddy does something to anger a royal mage. It triggers a mage war to come. Channie's family packs up to live in a place with magically disabled people. There, a prophecy is born from a Book of The Dead and a powerful mage is revealed, but not until much turmoil is suffered. This series made me laugh, giggle, sigh and cry. This is one series I'd be happy to reread and "relive". The author created a story that came alive in my mind, and now I have to come down from a book "high". Thank you Charlotte for sharing this story.
The complete Channie Series. Channie meets Josh in book one. She is a witch. He isn't magical. Their story develops in the series, along with those of their family and friends. Good plotting and characterization.
A well written story with lots of action and Romance. A great set of characters both good and bad. Although many YA may enjoy this series, it's also an enjoyable and fun read for us older readers.
I really loved this full series and found it hard to stop reading once I started! I don't want to get the story away but this series has magic, high school, bmx racing, dysfunctional families, great friends, and the Book of the Dead all in one! Wonderful read from start to finish!
Loved the series of Channie and Josh. The extreme love they had for each other was so sweet and so wonderful no matter what they went through. Nice ending too
Love these characters. The epilogue and extra stories was like the cherry on top. Thanks for the journey. Had to get the rest of River’s story, now to find out more.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. It was funny, entertaining, engrossing, & it had me cheering, laughing, crying, & yelling. The character's are well round & fit together very well. I fell in love with each of them, even the ones that aggravated me to no end. The world that Charlotte Abel has built is intriguing, & realistic. If you are looking for a book that will hold your attention, keep you laughing, & hanging on the edge of your seat at times, then this is the book for you. Definitely a must buy!!!
I fell in love with this series from the very first book to the last. I love how the characters gradually come together to fight one cause. There is so much adventure and love and dislike with these stories. Channie and Josh have such a close, strong bond that develops through out all of the books. It was so much fun learning about all the characters as I went through. Charlotte Abel did one heck of a job pulling me in and never letting go.
Enchantment (Channie #1) - stars I did not like the writing style or the characters in this book. the characters were too one dimensional and not relatable at all. I thought the writing style could have been cleaner and more to the point.
I enjoyed the series -- there were a few unexpected twists and turns! It was more of a teen book, but even so, I got a little tired of the constant lust between the two main characters. It was a fun and light book to read!
I really liked this series. There was plenty of passion, heartache, suffering, and death. The characters were well written and believable. You can laugh, cry, and love with them.
I loved this entire series! I couldn't put any of the books down. Each had me up until almost morning. And I NEED sleep. Also, I'm not a Young Adult, I'm slightly middle aged woman- yikes!
Overall it's was good. The little cussing that happened I didn't think fit with the rest of the writing style and could've been left out. Some parts drugged on and made it a bit too long.
