A LOVE STORY ABOUT AN ALPHA MANWHORE AND A GOOD GIRL BY NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR HM WARD
Money. Power. Sex.
People don't change. They can't. It's a simple thing to understand and yet, everything I'm seeing in the billionaire Pete Ferro makes me think that I'm wrong. Perhaps this alpha male is capable of love after all? That should be a good thing since I'm engaged to him and a wedding is swiftly approaching, but I wanted a white knight type of love story. Instead I got the dark romance that I can't explain.
After all the fights are washed away, there's another man beneath the surface of that sexy exterior searching for a second chance at life. There's more to him than a sexy grin and a beautiful body, but he hides those pieces of his soul away from everyone--except me.
I'm attracted to that man--the hot player who's really a poet, the heartbreaker of a manwhore with the deep blue eyes and crooked smile. I can't fall in love with him because it would break my heart and there's so little left.
New Adult Romance This story unfolds over multiple volumes Approx. 130 pgs
H.M. Ward continues to reign as a NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author who surpassed more than 23 million books sold, placing her among the literary titans. Ward has been featured in articles in the NEW YORK TIMES, FORBES, and USA TODAY to name a few.
Incredibly descriptive, highly charged and exceptional writing! H.M. Ward has taken Pete and Gina to an entirely new level of EPIC. Gina has come to terms with her future but she needs to live, she needs to feel, she needs to fight. Here it is, the beginning of the end. Every word has meaning, every moment is written with affection. Food, animals and trash will keep you reading until the end. Some scenes so absolutely hysterical that it became dangerous to my bladder.
Dancing and poetry are both a form of art. There is a passion one can see with dance. Will Gina express her innermost self with Pete. Poetry is something that can be read and heard. Can Pete share his deepest thoughts? Yes, the tension is high, the chemistry resembles fireworks ready to explode. Will these two have their moment? Can they make their future work? Are their secrets secure from outside influences?
Peter will forever be my number one Ferro. Life Before Damaged 8 will not disappoint you. Read it, embrace it, laugh, cry and rejoice because hands down this is a must read!
Gina has decided to grab hold of life, and live it to the full and its exhilarating to experience this with her. Just when she is starting to enjoy herself, she is summoned away. This places her in the lions den, so to speak. Although she is lonely and cut off most of the time. When her and Peter do occasionally come together, the results are mostly sweet and poignant. They recognise creativity and something special in each other. It is like falling in love all over again, it's so beautifully written. As always as only a Ferro can, Pete runs HOT and cold, your heart breaks for poor Gina ! Every time she opens up to him he does another stupid thing to keep her at arms length? Add into the mix two of her old boyfriend's and let the sparks fly.
I am so enjoying reading the history that made Peter Granz, and the character of Gina, is so fantastic( I recognise some of my friends, she's that real)
This instalment has it all, love, lust, beauty, passion, hurt and laugh out loud moments. A step into Holly's head !!!!
But most of all this instalment has every feeling imaginable.
The next step in this extraordinary tale takes place. I am by far completely floored yet again by the amazing work of H.M. Ward. The feeling I got from this book at times was hope. Hope for Peter, hope for Gina, hope that things can change no matter how far a person has gone or how deeply hidden a persons true self is. To stick with the typical Ferro fashion you will not only laugh but want to bawl as well reading this book. H.M. Ward has a way of stringing you through the story in a way that has you on an emotional roller coaster ride to describe it as plainly as I can. She always does this to me after reading one of her books I'm always left speech less and emotionally drained. Kudos Mrs. Ward for leaving me completely floored once again.
What happens when you decide to live life with no regrets? You start to see it in living color. But then what happens when you are finally living in color and are indebted to Constance Ferro? Well, you end up like Rapunzel locked away in a castle. The only perk for Gina is that Pete seems to be the ogre set on guarding her, and well, who wouldn't want to be guarded by Pete Ferro! In this volume of the Life before Damaged series Gina and Pete start to come together more. Gina sees through "Pete the player". She sees the damaged, sensitive man that hides behind the mask that he insists is his only option. Every time she begins to lift the mask, and get a closer look at the real Peter Ferro, he finds a way to slip it right back into place. But does this drive her away? No it only makes her realize her true feelings for him. When Pete comes to her rescue when her ex-boyfriend, Anthony comes to try to take her back, it is Gina who ends up saving Pete, not from Anthony, but from himself. Then the unthinkable happens. Is it real, or just a big misunderstanding? I’m afraid we all will have to wait until Life Before Damaged Volume 9 comes out to know the answer. Happy but sad was my constant emotion while reading this book. I was happy to see the foreshadowing of events that readers of the Damaged series already know, but sad because as this series is a prequel to Damaged, we already know the ending. HM Ward continues to thrill and entertain with the most amazing characters, events and of course cliffhangers. I have become so emotionally invested in this series and the characters that it will feel like a part of my life is missing when the series comes to a conclusion.

Love Peter Ferro but my god I wanted to hit him in this one. I laughed and smiled all the way through this amazing instalment of the damaged series! I love how Gina has taken the world by the balls and given them a damn good shake..... Go Gina
***I received this book as an ARC for an honest review*** This installment will have you literally laughing out loud, swooning over the closeness happening between Gina & Pete and then feel heartache all in one book. Gina and Pete are so made for each other, you will find that you are trying to read as fast as you can to see what happens between them. In this story, Gina has to come clean with Phillip. She is left with no other choice after Queen Connie forces her into the Ferro mansion. She is only allowed to be driven to and from classes. Constance is not letting her out to see friends or let then visit her. She is basically in prison. The nightmares continue and she is all alone. After an encounter in the ballroom, Pete tells Gina they are going on their first date together. Gina and Pete stop and pick Pete up some sexy saddle shoes then make their way to dinner. To say it was orgasmic is an understatement! Dessert with cookies is moan worthy. But like all good things, it all seems to fall apart for them. After a hostile encounter with her drunk ex boyfriend Anthony, Gina stops Pete from beating him to a pulp. They escape to the ballroom. There they dance away all their frustrations and problems. They are lost in their own little world and it looks like they are both reading for the next step. Only they are interrupted and it breaks Gina. After the interruption and escaping Pete, Gina finally admits out loud the three words she has been trying to deny. Why oh why does Holly do this to us! She brings you into this story that you become attached to her characters. The pain that Gina feels is felt by all her readers. We are all waiting, impatiently, for the P & G hookup!! Need more now!!
Holy crap! I feel like I just was on one of those rollercoasters that keep climbing and level off you think it's going to be a tame ride, then the lights go out and you are totally In a free fall. Between the sexual tension, the glimpses of happiness and the display of protection that you feel from Peter. The hope, angst and desire you feel from Gina. The build up was intense, then BAM- the cables to the elevator give out and you are falling. Ugh. I truly feel compassion for Gina and Peter. Holly all I can say this time you made me feel some serious emotions
Can't wait for #9

Lust, heartbreak and love. LBD8 is the trifecta of roller coaster romances.
When Gina finally decides to live life the way she wants, Pete re-enters with the reminder of their impending future. Only this time, it's not a request, it's a demand! She's basically forced to break ties with everything and/or everyone and move into the massive Ferro mansion. Just when she feels like life couldn't possible get anymore lonelier, Peter rides in like a knight in shinning armor to cheer her up. But when it feels like everything is going a little too good, our knight becomes more of a douche in tin foil!
LBD8 will make you laugh, cry and stew with anger. The feels this book gives you are like no other!! I love Gina more and more with every installment! And it's such a bittersweet feeling to know our time with her is coming to an end. But I would LOVE to hear Peters POV on her. Like usual, H.M. Ward has completely outdone herself! Waiting for LBD9 will be pure torture!!
Peter, Peter, Peter. You are lucky I loved you in Damaged, because I would smack you now!
Gina seems to have finally accepted her fate in the ill arranged Ferro/Granz engagement. She has found a balance and is trying to liver her life before the deadline to become a Ferro expires.
Peter as always seems to break down Gina's defenses. You know, with his Jekyll and Hyde personality. Gina can see the great man inside that he rarely shows, but he always has to show the tough party-boy persona.
Just when you think these two are starting to come to a mutual understanding and begin to actually like each other, Peter pulls a Ferro.
Another great installment in the Life Before Ferro saga. I loved this one and cannot wait until the next!
I really liked this book. Emotions run rampant in this installment of the Life Before Damaged Series. We find Gina pushing herself to live in the moment. Gina and Philip seem to be getting along just fine until Peter shows up with orders for her to love into the mansion. After moving in Gina is miserable. Peter seems to be continuing with his player ways and she is left along to her thoughts and fears. To escape she dances. Peter finds her dancing and decides to share some of his deepest feelings with her. Life seems to be getting better for the couple. But then things change. Can't wait for the next installment to see what happens with our couple. Hopefully Peter will get it together in time.
Ugh, Pete grow up and become the man Gina knows you are! In this installment girlfriend is fed up being the perfect little lady and decides too go for it all. She's living her life from now on with no regrets and Pete really takes notice.. Pete is starting to open up and finally let us see the person we eventually saw him become. I think him and Gina have a good friendship and am hoping in the next installment they finally get together, cause he is driving me crazy! The chemistry is so hot I had to take a cold shower, but Pet e being Pete screws it all up lol....Thank you HM Ward for this great continuation, I can't wait for the next...
Get ready to get your world knocked right off its axis with Life Before Damaged 8 by HM Ward.
Gina and Pete return to their undeniable chemistry. Each moment shared walls get knocked down only for it to slowly raise back up after each time. Making you doubt the feelings that were shared.
This book will raise questions to how Gina's fate was set in stone way before her engagement night. Can't wait for the next book to see how cards fall. Because right now they are all up in the air.
I love this series. These characters seem so real, I can't wait to read more to find out what is going to happen. I am so hooked it is like a drug I have to have more. In this one we see the softer side of Pete again when he lets his mask down but for how long? Can Gina get through to him before she breaks herself. I can't wait to find out. I was one of the lucky ones to receive and ARC for a fair and honest review.
What a GREAT story! HM Ward continues to deliver my favorite one yet every time!! The development of Gina and Peter is so AWESOME(frustrating (Peter) but awesome). Gina continues to grow into this wonderfully light, brilliant, funny, loving young lady and Peter, well, He's getting there. I'd like to help him along sometimes but I have full faith in my author to do it right!! Awesome story line as always! Can't wait for the next edition!!
Peter Ferro is one Sexy Man!! I love how Gina brings out a different side of Peter that he tries to hidden from the world. Peter and Gina have great chemistry together! I can't wait to see what the future holds for them and the rest of the Ferro family. I am loving this series and would highly recommend it!!
Finally. I've been waiting for this book or should I say for Gina to come alive. I think she is finally getting it but she needs to stop letting him push. She needs to stop believing the mask and the lies and really look inside. She still is only skimming the surface. These books have finally become so very entertaining. I can't stop reading. I don't want to stop reading. At this point I'm scared to stop because I know what's coming in 10 and I keep hoping that it will be wrong. It's like watching a train wreck. You know it's going to happen, you can't stop it, but you can hope that by some miracle something changes. I know this series is going to show us how Peter grew into who he is, but this is so hard watching Gina become a better person. Keep going, this is just getting better. 2 left, here we go back in the rabbit hole.
Book eight and still no sex? Throw us a bone(r) or something. This book makes me sad and angry. It was Gina who cal,Ed the beast and went thru tremendous heartache only to die. Sidney who was no where deserving of the new and improved Peter. Sidney went off the rails when she heard his last name was Ferro...can you imagine Sidney before she centered Peter.
I loved this episode in Gina and Peters story. Gina is finding herself and living her life, on the edge at times. Pete begins to open himself up a bit more and he is starting to show his nicer side, instead of his constant womanising side. Peter and Gina are finally getting closer. There is so much heat between them during their picnic in Central Park, then Peter being the arse that he can, throws the bucket of ice water to cool it off. There is a cliffhanger at the end that Holly is renowned for. It's an emotional ride, which I'm thinking will only continue to get more emotional as the instalments continue. I love H.M. Ward's writing style. It's easy to read and follow, I don't have to think too hard, but leaves me thinking of conspiracy theories. I cant wait for 9 to be released.

OMG!!!! Ok so without posting anything that gives stuff away.... I received an ARC of this book from the lovely HM Ward, in turn for an honest review. Every book that comes out in this series, makes me cringe... For this reason: I LOVE this series and don't want it to end, yet I know what's going to happen since I've read Damaged a long time ago. That being said, its another great cliffhanger ending, leaving you waiting ever so patiently for the next one to come out. You will not be disappointed with this next installment of this series, except for the fact you'll want more of it to read. This truly is by far my faves of HM Ward's series, I think just the story line and characters are great!

Gina has finally come into her own. She has decided to live her life to the fullest. Gina's story has surprised me. I have loved Peter in the other books but, in this one he drives me crazy. Gina deserves better. He is so hot and cold all the time. I am getting emotional whip lash. I can't imagine how Gina feels. Especially with the deadline to become a Ferro is looming over her. I don't blame her. I think I would have made the same decision she did. I find myself hoping for a different outcome for Gina. even though we kind of know how this story ends. I have hope!
Gina and Peter still have encounters of the romantic variety. Which are also hot and cold. In this volume I found them to be sweet. I would love to see them have way more intimate time but, I understand times are a little tense and Gina has a lot on her mind. Gina's ex-bf Anthony, stirs things up a bit too. His drunken antics make Peter pretty mad. Which then makes him go all man-ape on Anthony. I did kind of enjoy that though.
Once again I am left emotionally drained after this volume. It keeps getting better and better. I can't wait for the next volume!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was so excited to read this book. We were left with hanging emotions after LBD 7. Will Gina ask Phillip to be her lover? How will Peter react to that? Anyone who's read Damaged knows that ultimately Gina and Peter work out, but it's the journey we're anxious to discover.
I LOVED the banter and intimacy of Gina and Peter in this book. They had some very real and raw emotions. Some were the first showings of these emotions to each other. The fact that 90% of this book was the two of them was awesome. Sure, I love Erin's character, but this was a perfect time to just focus on Gina and Peter.
Secondly, I love how Ward's writing has developed. She is an evolved author. The wit and humor we see in the dialogue and the chapter subtitles make this such an enjoyable read. This is newer with Ward's writing. She's found her niche, found her readers/following and now she can have some fun.
You wouldn't read this book if you weren't already reading the series. But having such a fun and raw installment was just what my weekend needed.
I absolutely loved LIFE BEFORE DAMAGED 8. So many swoon-worthy moments. So much foreshadowing!! And no apprehension, this series is about living life to its fullest. As much as I love Peter, I am in absolute book heaven with Gina’s story. Gina is no wallflower. She is a fighter in terms of living her life on her terms and no one else’s, despite being pushed and pulled in certain directions. We are slowly seeing the Peter we knew from Damaged emerging and it’s a wonderful story being told. There is a such a vulnerability to Pete that we didn’t get to see in the earlier volumes but we are seeing it in LBD 8 and I absolutely cannot gush enough about it. Pete just can’t see the real him and I love how Gina can cut through all the Ferro fog that seems to surround this family and see the real him. Seriously, if you have read Damaged 1 and 2, LIFE BEFORE DAMAGED series is a MUST. It may be hands down my favorite amongst the Ferro Family series. It has everything you could want in a true love story.
Poor, poor Gina. I really do feel sorry for her. The life she has been handed really has to suck. I mean, I know she sort of brought it on herself with the whole rave thing but really? Connie is a total you know what. I can't believe she made Peter do that to Gina. She has no freedom and let's face it, Phillip won't be around, or will he? Was the girl in the sheet with Peter? Inlovemtat Gina realized these feelings that I knew she was feeling all along. I can't wait to see who the mystery girl below too!!!

Outstanding, humorous, romantic, and heartbreaking, awesome sequel by the multi-talented H.M. Ward. "ARC Review" After Gina gets done skydiving with Philip and his friends, she sees Pete Ferro and rushes to him all excited and on cloud nine after her jump and telling Pete all about it. Pete ends Gina's excitement with telling her the bad news that his mom, Constance Ferro, has moved Gina's belongings into the Ferro mansion and wants her to move in today. Gina has to break Phillips heart, live with the cold hearted Constance Ferro, avoid all of the young bimbo's Mr. Ferro has running around, and to get Pete to open up and be the wonderful, loving man he could be. As Gina gets to see the glimpses of the real Pete, she falls more and more for him. Read the highly recommended Volume 8 of Life Before Damaged by the incredible writer H.M. Ward and don't miss out on the continuing love story of Gina and Pete Ferro.
So LBD8 starts out on a bang, Gina is skydiving and living the life she wishes she always had. After trying to constantly be what everyone else wanted her to be. Now she’s trying to be her true self but the Ferro family is constantly ruining her life. She’s been forced to move in with the Ferro’s, she can’t see her friends anymore, and isn’t allowed to leave the house to go anywhere but school and work. She’s stuck in a very lavish prison. When Peter asks to spend time with her she begins to fall for him and now she realizes she won’t ever be with him and she’s alone.
This installment of LBD really made me feel for Gina and while I love Peter I am really thinking he’s a douche right now. This installment kind of felt like filler, but the whole ending really has me going crazy for the next installment. Good job H.M. Ward once again for the great story. I enjoyed Gina’s dorkiness a lot in this story.
