Viking meets Mia when she and her friend are under attack at a Women’s Retreat. He comes to their rescue and that sets events into motion that neither Viking nor Mia could possibly have imagine. In a somewhat common vein, Viking is a Warrior who realizes that Mia is his mate. The world in which the novel is set has the trope of the Warrior going crazy if he does not bed his mate within three days. Viking’s situation is made more complicated by the fact that his mate, Mia, knows nothing about the Night World. So, he is faced with teaching Mia about the Night World and trying to convince her that he’s not just feeding her a line only to get her into bed. Viking Sensitivity is the second book in Gretchen S. B.’s Night World series. Unfortunately, I have not read the first installment (but I’m definitely going to fix that!) so I feel like I’ve missed some important information. However, the author does an excellent job of introducing a character who is unfamiliar with the Night World, so the reader learns along with her. I am reviewing from an ARC, so some of the issues that I have with the book may well be fixed before the book is released in its final form. That being said, the novel would definitely benefit from a round with an editor because there are significant typographical, spelling, and grammar errors. I’m a long-time reviewer who has experience with review copies, so I’ve gotten used to being able to read past those issues. If those issues are not fixed before the book goes to print, I feel obligated to warn people that they exist.

The errors in the text contributed slightly to the rating being lower than 5 out of 5, as did the way that the book ended. I’m not sure how I feel about the ending because it seems a bit trite and a bit rushed. It is not, thankfully, a cliffhanger ending, so it has that going for it, at least. The book has only minimal sex scenes, but they are explicit enough that I would not feel comfortable recommending this book to anyone under the age of 17. I would, however, recommend it to those who love paranormal romance, hot Alpha males, and a well-constructed world in which to play.

I really enjoy this author's writing. I read one book by her before, not from this series and I loved it. And while this is the second book of the series, I jumped right in a have fallen in love with this one as well. I absolutely loved Mia and Viking! I also truly like a lot of the secondary characters as well. Learning about all the beings in the Night World. It's pretty cool!

Mia is sweet and hard working and human. But when something tried to invade her dreams she calls her aunt, who's a witch. Now Mia has some sensitivity but never really thought anything major of it. So when she stumbles across Viking, she doesn't understand him or the world he comes from. And yet, she can't help but fall for him. He had to work hard for it though so no bad thoughts on insta lust. Actually it almost killed him to meet her hahahaha and though Viking wants to protect Mia at all costs, he knows she needs her own pace and independence.

Viking is... Well a Viking. He acts like one, thinks like one. Mia blows his mind. And he doesn't like coffee!! But he's sweet and kind and he definitely does his job very well. And boy he's old fashioned, but when he throws caution to the wind, he's a sexy piece!! I loved his relationship with Gwen, and there's a big twist in the area. I'm learning what everyone is and how they all work in this world that was created!

I loved the set up for world building. Each character and supe has special talents and rights and groups. And yet they live with humans without eating them lol! The bad guy is freaking creepy, seriously! The story line kept me flipping pages and I think I seriously almost cried at the end because I wanted more. I still do, so I'll be stalking for the next book!! I can't wait :) 5 MAGICAL PAWS!

This was really good and a great intro into this series. So far it's the only book I've read and I would very much like to read more. There are plenty of emotions, strong characters, suspense, creativity and imagination, and a good HEA...with the characters anyway. This book does leave you wondering what could and will happen next. I really liked this book, not only for the escapism, but because this was something that when you read it, you're not reading something you would like to be, try to be, or aspire to be, but what is realistic (personality and characteristically) and you feel more of a connection with the characters for it. Written very well, flows and is like a medium-force wind reading. This was a freebie (for a review) and I have to say it was definitely worth it. Enjoy!

Very good read. I liked it a lot. I hope there will be more in this series soon. I got the first book so I can read it as well. I loved Viking and Mia and secondary characters like Poet and Gwen and Raider among others. I’m looking forward to reading book one, which is Gwen and Ceaser’s story called Lady of the Dead. I’ll definitely be looking for more by this author.

This is a really good book! I like the storyline and it has some good twists in it.
A bit of the wording is off, so it could use a bit of tweaking.
There is one detailed sex scene in it, just so you know.

Enjoy!
