Wyatt Thompson grieved over a loss. His world crashed around him and nothing, it seemed, could help him.
Piper Morgan, a mail-order bride, came to Colorado to find love and security. But when she arrived, sick and alone, she believed her world would never be the same.
But deep in the frigid Colorado mountains, Wyatt and Piper found each other. In a twist of events, Wyatt and Piper are drawn to each other and drawn from any thing they've ever known.
Will this mail-order bride fall in love with a man in what becomes a marriage of convenience?
I think this story was well told, although I wish it would have been longer and I would have gotten to know the characters better, that said, it is still a heart warming story. Wyatt has just buried his brother Chester never knowing that Chester had been communicating through letters with a young woman who now may be a big part of Wyatt's life and love.
This is the first story/audible I have listened to by the author and I was pleasantly surprised! I enjoy the mail order bride tales and know there will always be a happy ending. Piper had come to Colorado to become a mail order bride of a man Chester who she had been corresponding with but when she got to the train station, she was not met by him. She ended up very sick and taken to the doctor's office. Wyatt was leaving Colorado because he just did not have the heart to stay since he had just buried his brother Chester from an accident. When he hears of a young lady having come to marry a "Chester" he could only go make sure it was not his brother she had come for... A sweet short story told by an amazing Narrator and I know I will want to hear more by this author!!
Piper Morgan, a mail-order bride, comes to Colorado to marry a man racked with the grief of loss. An overtly Christian novella, the characters are inspirational.
I listened to the Audible audio version of this book and reviewed it at 4.5 stars.
"A Heartwarming Sweet and Clean Romance"
A SILVER PLUME ROMANCE was a sweet and good short romance set in an old west mining town in Colorado. I thought it was very well structured, easy to follow and an overall relaxing listen. Piper is a mail order bride who arrives in Colorado to meet her groom who doesn't show up due to tragedy. Instead, his brother Wyatt comes to her aid.
LEANOR A. WOODWORTH did a superb job narrating the story. I especially liked her voice. I enjoyed everything about her performance and found her to be a wonderful asset to the story.

When a tragedy strikes, an unforseen blessing arrives. How do you take a leap of faith to go forward with a situation that was not meant for you? Can Piper trust God to take care of her when she learns of her fiance's death? A great, short read. Crab your beverage and get cozy with this enjoyable read.
I listened to the audiobook of this story. Narration was fine. This story was quick. Wyatt just buried his brother Chester and decided to go home to Chicago. He didn't want to work in the silvermine anymore. Piper came to Silver Plume as a mail order bride. Her attended was Chester. Wyatt didn't know anything about this. What will happen now.
Fantastic story! It is a quick read and very believable characters. One of my favorite books besides Amish books. I loved to read about mail order brides. A truly great book that I recommend l!!!!
Julie is a new author to me, but Leonor is a narrator I’ve enjoyed! They made a great team in this short story! I look forward to listening to more of this series!!
I loved this story, The beginning broke my heart but has a great ending. Love the chemistry between Wyatt and Piper. Narrator Leonor A. Woodworth does a great job bringing everything to life.
A historical romance starting a mail bride and her intended's brother in the Wild West silver mine territory. A clean, short tale of misfortune and upset which nicely resolves into a romantic tale. Mail order brides didn't always get what they thought they were getting but this book's bride doesn't even have a groom - dead on the day of her arrival. She is about to follow him through illness but through support from the community and her intended's brother, they find themselves exploring their connection and making a new life for themselves.
Imagine falling in love with someone through the mail and then selling everything you own to go be with that person. Then imagine arriving at your destination on the day your future husband is being buried. This is the situation Piper Morgan finds herself in. Not only that, she becomes dangerously ill from waiting in the cold at the train station for a man that will never comes. Instead she’s confronted by his brother, Wyatt, who in no way feels obligated to aid the woman his brother never told him about. I enjoyed both the characters and the setting of this story, and it’s so vividly told you almost feel like it’s a real part of history.
This was a sweet short mail order bride romance story however it is more a short story and not a novella. I liked the characters and felt that with more time you could have really connected to them. The story seemed to show that the two had some chemistry, just needed it to develop and show more struggle with what they felt and more depth to how they came together with their feelings. I feel that the story was a bit rushed through with how they felt and then were together. I think if the story was a little longer and more developed that it would be a really great story.

This is the perfect short, feel good romance. Julie Pollitt captures romance at it's best in the late 1800's. Wyatt Thompson marries his dead brother's mail order bride, Piper. She does not decide to marry him easily, but the two develop a beautiful romance in this quick listen.
Leonor A Woodworth, as always, brings her magic to this story. I love her voice, always giving a performance that is easy to listen to.
BOOK REVIEW..... This was a nice story. Well written. It had good characters and was kind of sweet. Piper was spunky and fun. Wyatt was strong and a really good guy.

Piper leaves home to be stranded not yet a bride. Chester her intended has died. Piper nearly freezes to death waiting for a dead man. Overhearing a conversation, Wyatt, Chester's brother, learns of Piper's near death and her mumblings about Chester. But when he seeks her out things don't go as planned or do they?
This story gives everything a full novel gives only on a short easy to read story. I love the spunk of the main character and the boldness of the men. It makes a good story that could be continued
It was a novella. A good story line but moved much too quickly! Because of the brevity of the story characters could not develop. I would have given a 2.5 if available.
First it was free and I like western romance books setting and era are good if I lived back then this is what kind of bride I would have like to have been
