A true musical genius, Polish born Frederic Chopin gave his first public concert at age six. Superbly gifted at the piano, Chopin composed almost exclusively for the instrument, creating an opus of waltzes, preludes, nocturnes and impromptus. His mazurkas and polonaises, which are Polish national dances, especially expressed his intense feelings for his native land.
