IMMORTALITY: Rhythms of the Tides - Poems of Love, Humanity and Time
Thirty-one years of poetry. One timeless what does it mean to be human? To love, to grieve, to feel, to remember, to hope beyond death? IMMORTALITY is a lyrical journey through life, from 1991 to 2022, written from reflections on our essential humanity. Packed with poems of love and romance, society and politics, history and metaphysics, sentiment and tribute, this collection is not modern prose broken into verses. They are true poems, verses as verses, crafted in the spirit of classical and post-classical poetry, where language still sings. Influenced by the emotional depth of ancient Greek poetry and existentialism, Oyelade uses imagery, repetition, symbolism and allegory to summon the real issues of life into the reader's mind, inviting you to imagine, interpret and feel.
