This billionaire story is garnished with one hell of a twist! TWIST is Lila’s best work to date. And that’s saying something since I LOVE her other billionaires.

Ally is charming, funny and has serious mother issues (I’m commiserating). She’s focusing on breaking the glass ceiling at her marketing gig and she won’t let anything come between her and her goals – not even the intense connection she shares with Hunter Knox, her newest client who she sort of slept with a little bit. Seriously.

Hunter is sweetly vulnerable when his mask falls and impenetrable when it’s on. I loved that the quick wit and sexy banter that Lila is known for was ever present in this book. Sparks fly, sarcasm is used freely and the sexual tension is set to snap.

Get ready to binge-read, TWIST is delicious, light and goes down smooth. This novella spreads warmth and joy through your body….you won’t even realize you’re drunk on this story until it’s over and the cliffhanger slaps you in the face. It tastes so good, you’ll be ready for another round – 5 stars!

What the hell? I can't believe Lila left us with that ending!! That's one of the most jaw-dropping, heart-breaking cliffhangers I've ever had to suffer through. Don't get me wrong, it's still a five star read. If I hadn't been so pulled into the story then I wouldn't care so much about the fact that I now have to wait God only knows how long before the next installment! Even if it's just a couple of weeks, it's still too long. I need this shitstorm resolved right freaking now!

Ally works for an ad agency and is very good at what she does. She's having a rough time being taken seriously because she's a woman and constantly feels the need to prove herself. She's put all of her effort into getting a campaign that she thinks will finally gain her a legitimate reputation in the advertising world. The night before her pitch to this company she spends the evening at a bar doing research, since it's an alcohol company. While there she meets a gorgeous man who she decides to just let go with, and have some fun before her big stressful day. He gets an urgent phone call and leaves her before anything could actually happen, but that doesn't stop her from thinking about what it could've been like with the sexy stranger.

When Ally arrives at work the next day ready to conquer the advertising world she quickly realizes that her "almost-one-night stand" is actually Hunter Knox, the owner of the company she's trying to get the ad campaign for. This causes all kinds of complications. They both feel a strong physical attraction to the other but Ally doesn't want to ruin the chance to prove herself.

Hunter is under enormous stress to have a successful re-branding because he's got people circling like vultures just waiting for him to fail so they can take his whole family legacy away from him. He continues trying to steal private moments with Ally, but she ends up stopping him and telling him it won't work. They both have too much going on in their lives to risk a dangerous fling that could jeopardize her job and his ad campaign both.

Of course, she regrets saying the things she did and she misses him terribly. He's on her mind all the time and she wishes more than anything that things could've been different. So when the story ended the way it did I was left wanting to throw my phone across the room while cussing out Ally and Hunter about how stupid they BOTH are. I have no idea how things are going to go from here, but I can't wait to find out!

Billionaire With a Twist is a new series! And let me tell you....I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!!
There is something about Lila's writing that I just absolutely adore. Lila has you squirming in your seat one moment, and then literally laughing out loud the next!!
In this new series, we get Hunter Knox and Allison Bartlett. And good god. I'll take a double shot of Hunter please!!!! He's hot, sexy, and runs the infamous family bourbon business, which is in desperate need of some new advertising. And this is where Ally comes in. She's out for this job. She's trying to prove herself to the big guy that she is more than capable and qualified for it. But then there are the "Douchebros." I laugh everytime I see this name. These bros are her fellow coworkers, that are basically a bunch of...well...douchebags. And it's because of these douchecanoes, that Ally is forced to make a decision. Will her drunken one night stand come back and possibly ruin her career? Will her one night stand come back unexpectedly and show up at DINNER!?!! You will have to read to find out!! No spoilers here! And WTH LILA!!!! You're KILLING me, MONROE!! In the good way, of course. But I seriously need book 2 now!
What I love about Lila Monroe's writing is that it is simply different. I think that her personality shines through her characters. The quirky humor. The witty sarcasm. The little tidbits of info that only Lila Monroe can deliver. Her books aren't filled with sex scene after sex scene. Even though those are my favorites. Yes, people. I like the sex. I like it a lot. In books. So for a book to hold my interest, and for me to not keep waiting for the sexy times, that is a gift itself. But when the sexy times do occur...oh yeah. SO worth the wait!!!!!!!
If you haven't 1-clicked this yet...DO IT NOW!!

I'm sputtering. A repeat of, "No, No, NO,' and beginning the torturous wait until I can get my hands on book 2.

Billionaire with a Twist is sexy, provocative to the senses, witty and informative. The descriptive words and similes made me taste this book. I could feel the bourbon seducing my senses.

Lila has a talent with writing sex without actually writing sex. A kiss, a touch, a look -- in her books can be more intimate and seductive than anything, leaving the reader breathless and eager for more.

Again, Lila gives us a heroine that is out to prove the world wrong, that women can doing something great. She taps into the heart of women with the determination, self doubt, and inner monologues that we all live and breathe on a daily basis.

Then there is Hunter Knox, HOLY HOT billionaire book boyfriend. Sexy, skilled and secretive, Hunter will leave you smiling like a school girl and wetter than the riverbed in springtime. I cannot wait to unwrap more of this delicious creature.

I will gladly endure the torture of waiting, for I know it will be worth every minute.

I Loved Hunter! I loved this book. It was a light easy read but had a great storyline. Ally is a pretty good character I felt for her. A young woman trying to get her footing in a market and job that is mainly for men. I love the chemistry between these two.

Original Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace

I picked this one up after reading the blurb, but I didn’t pay attention to the cover where it says Part One… so it turns out that it’s part of a serial… oh well, I gave it a try anyway. It turned out to be a pretty good read for my first Lila Monroe read.

It began with Allison (Ally) tasting bourbon in a bar, as part of research for the ad campaign she is working on. A handsome stranger comes over and before she knows it, she’s taking a chance and they are heading back to her room. I could see this encounter was going to bite her in the butt… but it was amusing none-the-less! Soon she’s working with this stranger and fighting her attraction because she wants to succeed with this campaign and make a name for herself.

I liked how Ally was driven and didn’t allow her feelings to intrude on her professional life. You can see that she is very attracted to Knox, but feeling like a nobody in the past has made her determined to make this campaign a success. She’s treated poorly in her workplace, and there are a lot of jerks on the sidelines just waiting for her to fail. There were a few moments between Ally and Knox where she would let her guard down, and I could see the heat rising between them, but she was quick to back away.

The ending though, kind of broke both Ally and myself, and reminded me why serials annoy me at times! The story was great, but nowhere near long enough, and they end abruptly leaving you hanging for more. It was an addictive beginning to the series, and I felt that the author did a great job building the world and hooked to the characters. If you are looking for a short read, with plenty of flirting and fun, definitely try this one!

Ally's thoughts toward Hunter is anything but innocent, “yes, Mr. Knox?” Oh good, that sounded almost normal. Barely like I wanted to rip his shirt off at all." Hunter is a very tempting he's so sweet and sexy, “indeed there was,” he said with a grin that told me he had definitely noticed that too-long touch, and hadn’t quite decided whether or not to let me off the hook. “I wanted to tell you that the cook has made her famous pork chops for dinner.” He offered his hand . “I was hoping that might tempt you to join me.” I knew there would be a cliffhanger but I wasn't expecting what we got that surprised me. Next book please.

I really like Lila Monroe's writing, and how often she touches on traditional gender norms. What I've read so far has been fun, entertaining, and steamy.

That held true for this one... for the first 100 pages. Then it felt like there was forced drama, just to set up the cliffhanger for part two. Which... meh. Why? Just package the individual parts as one cohesive book. Honestly turned off enough by the ending of this one that I don't have much motivation to continue on with the story.

This was just ok. It was short so there wasn't much character development except for the two MCs. The plot is very simple. The baddies (Ally's douchebag co-workers) were just plain evil and had no other facets to them. This was a little boring. The angst was annoying, but since I've started this trilogy and they're all available under kindle unlimited, I will read the other two books.

That holy hotness cover..

It was average reading until the very last page, or last sentence to be more precise. The ending was a huuuge cliff hanger, but it didn't hurt me that much. Maybe because the rest of the book pretty much peaceful (except every single time the douchebros stepped into view) and this one coming and my reaction split between "Noooooo...." and "Yay, conflict!!"

Quick read

This book is about an advertising agent trying to land a big client. Its also about a man who has inherited the Knox family business and estates who is searching for a revamping of the company so the value can be restored. It is a sweet read with a lot of steamy parts..

It was okay. The book ends in such a way as to feel the story is unfinished and in order to find out what happens next you have to buy the next book. And the set up for the next book is that the leading man moves on to the leading lady's sister. The story just didn't pull me in to feel invested enough to want to continue to the next book.

I want to be completely honest and I really don't want to hurt feelings but I have to say it: This was such a fun, addictive story. I loved the characters and the conflict and the romance. I do not however find this title suitable for this little trio. It doesn't do the story justice.

I consider all three segments of Billionaire with a Twist one novel so this review is for all three parts. This is my 5th Monroe novel in a row so I am clearly enjoying her work, but the pluses and minuses of this one add more depth.

Hunter and Ally’s meeting begins without the gimmick that Billionaire Bargain and Very Irresistible Playboy do, and while Hunter does try to make Ally jealous, it is not with the serial playboy dating despite having real feelings for the heroine like Billionaire Game and Perfect Match. This relationship feels like it could really happen outside of a rom-com movie script. That’s what makes the Monroe trademark crisis causing a sense of betrayal and broken trust more problematic. The things Ally spouts to Hunter’s arch enemy in a drunken, jealous haze are inexplicable because none of her inner monologues to-date express the frustrations that pour out. Till that moment her antipathy toward Charles is so deep and visceral that no amount of alcohol and heartbreak would loose her tongue to say the damaging things she does. And unlike Monroe’s other novels the betrayal is jaw-droppingly true, not a misunderstanding. While the resolution to the business collapse seems too easy, the road to forgiveness and understanding is a little more complex—not by much but enough to make me feel it. My only real source of dissatisfaction is sister Paige, whose struggle to finally break free of her mother’s expectations made me long to know how her story turns out, and disappointed not to find her listed among Monroe’s lead characters in the almost 20 novels Monroe has written since.

A Story With Potential

I'm usually not a big fan of cliffhanger style books - they often seem contrived and gimmicky, so I'm surprised I enjoyed this one so much. While I didn't love that element of Billionaire with a Twist, I did find myself charmed by the beginning of Ali and Hunter story. Lila Monroe has the ability to create laugh out loud characters that make you root for them. And I will probably end up finishing this series. I did get a little tired of all the similies and metaphors, but they were well thought of and fitting to the characters personalities. I also got a little confused when I realized the story was supposed to be in Virginia - I honestly thought it was much more deep south. I'm a born and bred Virginian and know that people have their antiquated Southern ideals even here in Virginia, but it seemed out of place. And while I know that Virginia can take 4-6 hours to travel throughout, and Hunter might very well have his own private jet, I felt it a little odd that he 'flew in to DC...It's not that far of a commute from most places in Virginia.

I finished this short/story/book early this morning. I enjoyed reading it. It clearly left me hanging and wanting more. Plus this the cover was clearly different than what was showing in Amazon but that is fine anyway. It was a very good book in showing how hard it was for a woman to work and get by in a Man's work world. Her mother was another story she was just over bearing. She Ally as some called her work in the ad field trying to come up with a great ad complain only, but those that she worked with wanted to use sex/women in their ads, the book ended with out saying what happen.

I read all three parts as one, an additional book added into Mr. Right-Now. I honestly loved the technicalities of bourbon and beer and southern manners and expectations. I feel like the drama wasn't as terrible or easy to spot as it could have been and I really enjoyed all of the characters. It's a hot and sweet romance that felt more realistic than some others in this genre. I was a little annoyed by how overplayed the creepy, leery men thing was, but it fit.

Hunter Knox and Allison are smoking hot!

When Knox bourbon hires Allison to try and rebrand their legacy, he never expected it to be the girl he had a seriously hot one-night rendezvous with the night before. Lila Monroe knows how to steam up the pages, and this one is no exception. Can't wait to find out what happens next!

OK I did not like this one at all. It might be because of the ending scene and the last chapter which I felt rushed. I could not feel their chemistry. I am not eager to read the other 2 books in the sequel.
